    I'm rooting for Tim!! He runs a great offense that utilizes 5 and 6 man RPOs that often gets the TE involved. Just what Iowa needs with Lachey and Ostrenga on the roster. And finally to have a true QB coaching our QBs is going to be a blessing. This is a good hire!

    There is so much to be thankful for kirk at iowa.
    With that said i feel like a kid who had his Christmas present arrive a month late only to open it up and find socks.

    Tim Lester is a great offensive mind. His resume doesn’t look great but there is more to the story when you look under the hood. My dad (a former Olineman for the hawks) worked closely with him. He said he is a great recruiter. He brought in Jayden Reed and Chase Brown to WMU when they weren’t on anybody’s radar. It took me a minute to come to terms with the hire but after doing more so diligence, I feel much more confident in the decision. Go Hawks!

    We got what we deserve. No OC worth anything would take this job without some control over offensive scheme. Kirk isn't giving that up.

    Wow folks.... The big question is, can this guy get us to 60th, 70th, even 80th rated offense in the country? If there is some RPO run even semi effectively next year, I don't see a reason why with what this team has coming in and back that they can't. We are an awfully whiny bunch. We have a new opportunity, I'm interested to see where it leads.

    Media can you all collectively please for the sake of the program finally admit what a lot of us fans have been saying since at least 2015. And that Kirk has long stayed past his welcome. This game has passed Kirk by years ago. He’s offensively as inept as you could possibly be in 2024. He has not fielded a competitive offense in at least 5+ years. There hasn’t been a game in recent memory the offense won the game and bailed the defense out like the defense has done for the offense game after game season after season. This decision and hire has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt Kirk is liability for this program and does not at all possess what it takes to be a head coach and is not making decisions that are in the best interest of the program. And Beth, you need to have an immediate press conference and explain your decision in signing off on such a disastrous hire. I’m pulling back alot of my support for her until she explains herself and I don’t know what explanation she could possibly give to smooth this over. This ended about as horrible as it possibly could have.

      Never! Look at the year by year records. Kirk is beloved by a huge swathe of the fanbase. I'm not agreeing or bowing to your premise, which is a sign of the times. Me, me, me. Win, win, win. Now, now, now. Every game. I stand with Kirk!

      @@joshshimak1622 I respectfully disagree. Iowa fans are very patient and loyal. Even good coaches can have blinds spots. It's OK for fans to be considered about the offense. How can they not be?

      @jonathanc4166 I have no issue about people having having great issue with the offense. I just don't believe people see the bigger picture of why that is, and also don't give any credit to Kirk for the Hawks' on field success (10 wins this year). In my opinion, the success we do have is not simply because of great defense and special teams play. It's also the culture Kirk has created and sustained. In my opinion, the Hawks have had a couple of o-line recruiting busts and also some terrible QB1 play with Petras until now. Next year, with McNamara and Proctor and fresh insights from our new OC, it will inspire a memorable year! Go Hawls!

    • @jbills7292
      @jbills7292 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joshshimak1622 you are the perfect example of what’s wrong with Iowa. Fans like yourself are not fans of Iowa football the program, and team. You are Kirk Ferentz loyalists first. Kirk can do wrong and has done no wrong and you stick up for him had he been able to keep Brian as oc. There’s always an excuse. And it is absolutely never ever Kirk’s fault. It’s borderline cult behavior. Kirk didn’t achieve any of those wins because of anything he did. All of Iowas success especially last 7/8 years maybe more, is SOLEY because of Phil Parker and the elite defenses he fields year after year. Meanwhile Kirk and his incompetent son have humiliated themselves and the players by not making them even slightly competitive on offense. But hey “Kirk does it the right way” 🤮

  • @matthewwolff3729

    I didn't think Kirk Ferentz was gonna light the world on fire with a new offensive coordinator. Apparently these 2 guys agree. Also iowa needs to ride the the Kirk Ferentz wave until it crests, i.e. a losing season.

  • @realMal1c3
    @realMal1c3 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

    Kirk Ferentz needs to be shown the door. Waiting 3 months just to hire a Western Michigan reject is, well... a fireable offense imo. Man clearly despises the fanbase. As such, and as a member of said fanbase, I now despise Kirk. What a fuckin' doorknob.

    Any truth behind him visiting the facility and meeting some players and being offered the job, but they penny pinched and went cheap? Unless he was asking for 2 mil or even more than 1.5 mil why would they go cheap. Kirk either overthinked the whole thing or really did hire to spite us. An "I'm smarter than you" hire. Hey Chad, just so you are aware....the Ferentz faithful is blaming you for creating the narrative that Tim Lester is a disappointment. It's certainly not the unnecessarily long process, the lack of exciting names that was made available to the public and then, after missing on the best option, dragging out the process even longer to find someone with an underwhelming resume. It's not those things at all. It's all your fault as none of us could possible come to the same conclusion you did.
