    Really like the videos 👍 looking for our first 5kw wood stove. Not decided on one yet but the reviews are helpful.

    I like woodwarm. I have the now discontinued fireview 4.5kw multifuel stove on my narrowboat that I live on. Lit 24/7 in Winter and had it nearly 11 years. Double glazed glass, fantastic airwash. Rope sits in a channel cast in the doors so no glue needed. Can re-position door ropes if needed. Burns smokeless coal mainly and simply excellent. After 8 years use replaced the fire boards and stove rope. Grate bars and baffle plate still good. Very controllable like a gas fire. Apart from my narrowboat my second best purchase is my Woodwarm fireview. It has the domestic 8,000btu boiler that heats 2 gravity rads in my bedroom and bathroom. The boiler so far is still good, even though it's only a mild steel boiler.
    If I were to buy another stove would be a woodwarm.

    What's your opinion on the Esse Bakewell or Ironheart? I want an oven/stove for my kitchen extension. Thanks

    • @TheTortoise
      @TheTortoise  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had a go with a Bakeheart. It was excellent, but such a piece of furniture it seemed a shame to spoil it with use. The Ironheart is a bit more serious and suits the lives in look, but obviously bucket loads of money.
      I’d like to try a bakeheart again, it was definitely a lovely thing to have.

    i have just gotten a soapstone version of the jydepejsen cosmo 1147
    have you heared of this brand , and what is your opinion of it ?
    and why are the close to none soapstone models reviews here ?

      I’ve reviewed a few stoves that have soap stone options:
      All the Heta’s I’ve reviewed other than the Ambition. The Westfire too. I haven’t tested them with it, because it’s a lot of additional cost, but soap stone definitely has its place!
      Jydepejsen make some lovely stoves for sure!

    Am I sad because I saw this video thumbnail and went “awww shiiiiiiit” in excitement.
    I got my allure 5 installed Saturday btw, beautiful stove, very controllable and the room is finally a scorching hot death pit. For £850 in this current market it’s a steal I think.

    Any tips for how to roast chestnuts on a non open fire?

    • @TheTortoise
      @TheTortoise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can buy a chestnut roaster, and I remember doing that with my dad when I was young (we just opened the door and used the stove like an open fire). But I also remember him just putting chestnuts on top of the stove and heating them like that. It seemed to work, but I was only young at the time.

    Great stove agree with all you said,but you really need to try a woodwarm phoenix 6kw fireblaze ,nothing compares,full articulating grate perfect for all fuels,stay cool handle,cool controls that allow you to see at a glance the rate your burning at,no spillage its a beast I have tried the 5 gem 6 blaze and currently use the 8kw bug to heat my whole house
