    Hi Jordan. I started watching your channel in November and you helped me start my budgeting journey. I am 15 years old and wanted to learn how to be smart with my money. I just made my first purchase from your shop earlier today and I’m so happy with my order. Thank you for what you do. Have a great day!

    I would recommend a stand up freezer for stocking up. We bought a chest freezer and it’s very difficult to organize if you are putting a lot of food in it. We actually forget about food that gets lost at the bottom and it goes bad.

      We have 2 big deep freezers and I agree totally with you, hard to remember what's in them! Just a few months ago I started keeping an inventory sheet, I just keep it right on top of the freezer and I can quickly see what I have in there! Is working so great I did the same thing for our kitchen freezer and pantry! I got some super cute printables online for inventory.

    We’ve had a chest freezer for years and recently purchased an upright that is so much easier to see what you have and get to it quickly (unlike the chest). Keep that option in mind as well. Good luck with your new plan, I’m sure you’ll do great.

    Yes for the deep freezer! I originally had to buy one due to being an over produce while pumping. But now I’ve been slowly stocking it and have been looking into getting into canning.

    This is exactly why i love buying your sticker labels... its pretty and you don’t have to commit to that envelope category. You can just take them off and recategorize

    Jordan, so exciting to think that your entire family might move together!!! I am with you on the chest freezer, we got just before Christmas and are working on filling it. We are of the prepper mentality as well. For sure it can be a hedge against inflation. The other way the freezer has helped us is that we have room to keep some convenience foods(which help us to not go for fast food) and some frozen home cooked meals(to help when you just dont feel like cooking or are pressed for time) - this has helped us spend less on food overall. I am so looking forward to what's next for you! P.S. Another thing we do is try to put aside a little extra grocery money when we can so we can pick up sales or good deals when we see them.

    I don't reshuffle them, but it makes perfect sense to do it when priorities change. I dont put big amounts in, but I do focus on some categories more than others depending what is happening. We have a bunch of weddings coming up, so gifts and travel are the focus for now.

    Chest freezer is a great purchase! We raise our own meat or purchase from friends and family. My husband is in process of prepping us with a stockpile of non parishables. All our girls our single and live throughout the USA and I would expect them to come home if things get worse like they did with covid. It’s getting very expensive to add them to our stockpile.expenses! I pray things change soon. Your videos are so inspiring and we started to really working on budgets and Paying bills on time. Thank you’

    Your doing amazing Jordan!!! Sometimes you just gotta move things around to make sense for what's going on things are always changing. It's a smart move getting the chest freezer. That's what we dave the money for things we need. And it was smart to add the extra money you did to food cause prices are just insane. I'm just starting my journey with saving money 🤑 💰 and doing challenges to also help save. I love watching your channel!! Keep doing what your doing. And no one's mad you didn't make the move, I seen that video and it was a good one. ❤️

    I like the idea of unstuffing money and reprioritizing it whenever life needs it. I tend to think the money in the categories are set in stone

    • @JordanBudgets
      @JordanBudgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a lot of us do! I try to keep money as long as possible before reprioritizing but once I decide to move it around I don't feel bad about it. Having the categories makes me save and it makes me think really long and hard before making big purchases and reshuffling money. 💗

    Make sure your home insurance covers the loss of frozen goods if the power goes out and keep your invoices of the last 6-12 months in case you need to make a claim. 😊

    I don't shuffle my money around but I like to change my planner maybe too often. It's often not a need it's busy work that I enjoy. But as far as money, I limit what I save for and I know how much I want it each or if it is a endless stuffer. I guess if I didnt need a certain category anymore I'd simply pull that one and repurpose it but I likely wouldn't unstuff them all. We all have our things I guess.

    Absolutely no one has a right to come after you for anything! Peoples priorities change in circumstances change. I’ve been talking about moving for well over a year and now that I’m looking at house prices and rent prices holy crap I couldn’t find a house half my size in my price range so I’m not putting my family in any kind of financial strain or stress due to the fact that I just wanna move. I completely understand you I’m in the same boat you are with making sure I’m close to a certain type of hospital for my daughter and that is a top priority just as your sons or a top priority between my daughters medical and your sons medical I completely understand fully where you’re coming from. So anybody who had anything negative to say shame on them they need to learn to keep their mouth quiet because that’s inappropriate they’re not living in your house they’re not paying your bills they’re not dealing with the medical needs that your children have and they need to learn that there are changes that do come up. You have nothing bad going on and you’re not misleading no one your intentions are always good and you are completely transparent with all of us and that is amazing. And I’m glad you’re not moving right now honestly, because I know what the cost of Nashville is I looked it up and thought holy crap it’s very high rent it’s very overwhelming with the different places that you would be putting your children in for school over there for co-ops yeah it’s pretty expensive right now hold back and just wait
