This band isn't only to listen to when you're sad or need to relax. This band is everything. Their music is...it's beautiful. To people who say this band is overrated or not good - listen. Just listen.
My dad left my mother and I when I was 3 months old. He never sent her money, called, or came to see me, and she never asked, never complained to me. My mother dropped out of college picked up two full time jobs to raise me and keep me located in a good neighborhood, she worked seven days a week for over 4 years while I was a teenager. She lived and breathed for me for over a decade. I am now a chemistry grad student. For this I thank you father, for letting the greatest woman I know raise me.
My dad died in my hands,my mother's,and my brother, I have gone into depression praying to god to give him a second chance,My mom has been a lot more silent without him. He was the one that brighten are day,but without him, everyday i see in California is so dark and gloomy. He was a sergeant in the army, and some of the soldiers referred to him as "Pa". Im 17 now,he died 2 weeks before my b-day,but life for me has yet to get good. I love you dad Rest in piece My father Tony Sahagun,I miss you....
My P.E teacher introduced this song to me just today. A buddy of mine, him and I were talking after getting back to school from a field trip. This song was playing in his car and man…. I asked him right away what this Song was called when I heard 2:58 hit and I felt something sink to my stomach. We were talking about how dangerous cancer is and how we all made terrible mistakes in the past. Just talking about life, music and movies. Was such a simple thing that happened but it meant the world to me standing right next to my best friend and my favorite teacher. Definitely a memory I will cherish forever. You’ll forever be a role model to me. I hope to change the world like you have changed it and I hope to be as humble as you one day. Love you forever Jones
Dad, I miss you so much. It's been 9 years since you're gone and every time I hear this song I cant help but think of you. Thanks for fighting and being there when you could. Rest in peace and I hope you're in paradise looking down
Probably my favorite song by them...or Postcard from 1952, Have You Passed Through This Night, or Greet Death. Your Hand in Mine probably should be up there too but I've listened to it too many times.
My Father is an excellent example of a man from his generation, He has taught me more than he has forgotten, and he has forgotten more than most men are ever taught.
Although I may not have lost my father, listening to this song makes me think of how much different life would be if he was gone today. It makes me appreciate all that he has done for me and how much he loves me. Losing my grandfather was hard enough as is, I don't know how I am going to keep living without a father someday. I love you dad.
i cant believe how it be so expressive without ANY words. although my mind full of with words and expressions in connect with my dad... memories, voices, fragrances, flavours... how could i have lost him?! how could i have let this happen...?
I'm so proud of my father! He managed to escape the war just in time before the Khmer Rouge arrived. He came to Canada, alone, poor, at the age of 19, and he could barely speak the language. He stayed positive and happy even though he was left alone. Now, he lives very happily with the family and we live very well. I'm so proud of my dad, he's awesome, funny, kind, I love him... :)
My Grandpa just passed away with cancer, and the love of my life who left me months ago came back for support as a friend. She is the only person I want to talk to, yet I had to tell her no because I love her too much. I am lost and this song is the only thing that fills the empty void within me. Thank you EITS.
I'm pretty happy to see that after all these years, this vid is still here even so many have got taken down. Sure, these vids were never the official thing, but for some us it means a lot for them to be here, like the music was here for us when we needed it most. I'm speaking more generally than just EITS stuff, but yeah.
thank you, i understand you and i am very happy! I think the secret is not to do it for money... if you have the music and show your history, this is important... it's good for everyone... this is a reminder, of the incredible days listening to one of the best bands of all time!
I know I'm just adding to the list. Well, my father died when I was 2. Very unexpected and random. He had a heart condition no one knew about, including himself. He had a heart attack during my older brother's basketball practice, my dad being the coach. He died on the court. My brother was the last to see him alive, he was only 7. My brother hasnt played basketball ever since. Yeah my childhood was rough, but God prevailed. My dad loved and cherishd us, i look forward to seeing him in heaven.
Its the moments like these in life that remind us about the humane side of us all, the emotion that we all go through. Inspired by meaningful songs like these, we just sit and stare into empty space, watching, waiting for a sudden jolt of reality......
This song makes me feel like all my past times when i haven't given 110% every single waking moment of my life REGRET. But then when the hard beat comes on it makes me feel like the time is NOW. I love Explosions in the sky.
thank you,.. it wasnt easy, so i wouldnt consider myself to be tough. i miss my dad a whole lot and i always come back here around this time of year. always makes me sad,... thank you for your kind words though.
Amazing how the first song from their first album ends up being one of my favorite songs of theirs. I can't believe anyone (including the Explosions guys) could ever dislike this song or album! It's bloody amazing! The bass is so slick and laid back, love it!!
Lost my father on a rainy October afternoon, 2k17 Not a day goes by when I can't see his face without this song buzzing in the background of my head. EITS
WoW...I had this song on a cd like 5 or so years ago, lost the CD and totally forgot about this song until last weekend. Forgot who it was by though and it has been driving me nuts ever since, finally found it again YES!
This is our ancestors poetry. Every breath of our ancestors wrapped up in a nice huge G clef and and presented to us (the lucky ones) who are listening to this band. They are gracefully smiling and whispering to us: Go forward son. Do not waste your precious time on this soil, because at the moment you are walking on heaven's dust. Enjoy it now and completely. Greetings from Macedonia
I wan't to call myself an Explosions in the Sky fan, but suddenlly realise i've just been in love with this one track for many years. Can someone recomend me any others of the same quality... because this one is going to be with me forever.
first heard this song in summer 2007. went on to buy all of there albums since the two tines I saw then live it was probably sone of the the best tines i've had
EITS is an awesome band. Saw them perform in the cleared out surfboard area of Soundwaves in Houston a few years back. They didn't play long, but it was awesome.
This song is amazing simply for that fact that it can evoke a totally different emotion depending on the person listening to it. Most people are reminded of what their fathers have done for them. I'm reminded of what mine has not done for me. He was not there for me. Ever. But this song still fits both sides.
I lost my father a couple days ago. I don't even know how I can type this. Everytime this songs plays from now on all I can think about is him. I love you dad.
@Jarkein :) Sad but true, mate. You've got some really great bands in France! Saw Sugartown Cabaret a couple of weeks ago, amaaaaaaaaaaazing! Keep it true! Cheers from Madrid!
EITS creates songs without words, because their music is so beautiful words aren't needed. The music is the song, and it can be a song about anything you'd like it to be.
its like looking at abstract art. you can interpret anything in any way that comes to you. Any type of music, even everyday life can and will have different interpretations from person to person.
one of their better songs that dont get talked about enough.. not like they get talked about enough in the first place.. but thats what makes them so special
I honestly dont see the point in going on to a video that is clearly amazing and clicking the dislike button, its not like anyone respects you for doing it, if anything people dislike youtube haters. So have fun not liking amazing work, I on the other hand will enjoy this for what it is.
I'm a metalhead mainly, but i heard one these guys song on an MMA highlight video and these guys make epic songs, especially for highlights. Makes me reminisce of the old Pride FC days.
This bass line makes my blood ripple and pulse to the beat, of which reminds me of a Modest Mouse tone.. The music gods blessed us with both EitS and MM.
In my opinion, creativity is mostly about expressing emotions. Usually, when emotions are expressed in music, they come in a human "casing". But in post-rock, these emotions are pure and not limited or polluted by human language or whatsoever.
If going by straight definitions this isn't a song, but a composition. But anyone who is that uptight really needs to chill, it's a beautiful peice of music.
A song must have words to be a called a song, in any dictionary you find.. but this piece of music is more poignant and beautiful, without even the need for words, than any "song". ;D
This, band?-- just made me realize you dont need lyrics in a song to like it. its even more relatable. Just started listening to them, like what, five minutes ago and I love them :) haha

The best music to listen to you if have a headache or just need to lie down and close you eyes. EitS is one of my favorite.
I always listen to them when I need to relax or I'm working on homework or something I need to focus on

So there are still people who create this kind of music. I'm happy.
Really rocking the vibes of these soundscapes!

words will never describe this song
The video show me like our vision about World can't change, after bad things happened ... I love you Dad .. no matters where place you are.
crazy I have heard this song probably 1000 times over the course of 13 years and it still hits so heavy and wonderfully.
One of my all time favs by EITS....excellent stuff.
Lost my father on a rainy October afternoon, 2k17
Not a day goes by when I can't see his face without this song buzzing in the background of my head.
EITS
My apologies, pal. I understand your feelings. This song sounds in my head too, when I thinking about my father...
WoW...I had this song on a cd like 5 or so years ago, lost the CD and totally forgot about this song until last weekend. Forgot who it was by though and it has been driving me nuts ever since, finally found it again YES!

I love my dad, I couldn't live without him around me, so listenig to this song is really touching.

Beautiful song. Simply amazing.
Ficou joia, parabéns!
That song remembers me on so many moments in my life. It's right, that Music shows what words can't describe anymore.
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song in the past three days.
This music is not made by people but by emotions. That's creativity in it's most pure form.
EITS is an awesome band. Saw them perform in the cleared out surfboard area of Soundwaves in Houston a few years back. They didn't play long, but it was awesome.
this song sends me on a rollercoaster ride through my thoughts. Amazing
this on is the best
couldn't stop playing it over and over again

god i love this song
it is so unbelievably beautiful
what great music
what wonderful musicians
Wow I love this song! It's so simple and moving, but still has that edge to it that makes 'Explosions' so amazing.
Hit the nail on the head, couldnt think of a better definition.

@xRisingSun I know that was three months ago but you are my new hero i love the way you portrayed that..
I'm so baked right now!
I love listening to this band.
I love instrumental post rock... never fails to create wild landscapes and stories in my mind
I love the video. Great idea to just film your ride and as a background for the song; came out great.
.... EPIC... THIS IS THE WORDS FOR THIS SONG
one of their better songs that dont get talked about enough.. not like they get talked about enough in the first place.. but thats what makes them so special
Absolutely gorgeous!
My dad died of cancer when I was only seven. I barely remember him. Listening to this song makes me feel like I know him a bit more.
Happy fathers day everyone. Please spend your time with him, once he's gone forever he ain't coming back.
this is something to listen to while painting a masterpiece of surrealism
I honestly dont see the point in going on to a video that is clearly amazing and clicking the dislike button, its not like anyone respects you for doing it, if anything people dislike youtube haters. So have fun not liking amazing work, I on the other hand will enjoy this for what it is.
Best song on the album.
Jaimie Knox and Magic Hours ;)
magic hour is best sorry ^^
This one has more views so it must be better
Both great songs... but yea, I've gotta agree with Loaka. It's all subjective... as long as it makes you feel good who cares!
As a dad, I wish I could help in some way. Keep listening to the music, and don't make the same mistakes they made.
chris is such a sick drummer... eits is my favorite band to listen to while driving
great song. lovin the bass tab.
Rainymood + explosions in the sky = amazing!!!!
This is such a great, amazing (everything else) song, I don't know why this music is so underrated, maybe because we live among dead people!!!
I'm a metalhead mainly, but i heard one these guys song on an MMA highlight video and these guys make epic songs, especially for highlights. Makes me reminisce of the old Pride FC days.
my friend was playing this bass line really fast yesterday, so we jammed to it. it was amazing...
Amazing song! Fill me in with a kind of Hunger! Cant get enough of this song :)
Explosions in the sky are just such a great band !
@xRisingSun you're description of this song is spot on. great insight
such a great song to kick back think of old memories and smoke a bowl to :))
Just superb...
lovin' this. i'd love to dedicate this to my dad up there.
Reminds me of Rocky Hill in my balcony and the art piece Starry Night... God I miss those bonfires... And foxxy's gazing smile... How I miss it so
all these comments are about people and their dead fathers, which makes my dad sitting right next to me much more appreciated
This bass line makes my blood ripple and pulse to the beat, of which reminds me of a Modest Mouse tone.. The music gods blessed us with both EitS and MM.
Ke genial el tema, buena banda...
me bajo su discografia ahora >=D
:)

İşte bu müzik!
sözsüz kendini ifade edebilmenin son noktası
It's my fathers birthday today. He believes I don't care about him more then my friends. He'll never be more wrong.
the last thing i ever said to my dad was "i'll see you tomorrow."
i wish he could see me now...
cherish your fathers
this, and six days at the bottom of the ocean, are my favorites :)
This was the first song i chose to listen this year :)
If going by straight definitions this isn't a song, but a composition.
But anyone who is that uptight really needs to chill, it's a beautiful peice of music.
just can't stop listening to it.....
Hello, I'm VentoDriver and I'm an addict
