    I got my sBitX V3 a few weeks ago, right after field day wouldn't you know ... have been able to play around with-it but no real good antenna ys=et so once my antenna is back up, I'll do more. In the mean time watching your videos is a great help and keeps my excitement level up. Also, a ton of overtime at work came up and ...well life just gets in the way, eh? Thank you very much for posting your videos sir. 73 de AD7VV

    That's amazing, been dreaming about an all in one radio/pc for FT8. Looks like this is my 2024 project.

    I find I don't really care for the native FT8 handling and have setup and used WSJT-X instead. Keep in mind my needs are all colored by POTA and this does not seem like a very good option for that without WSJT-X and Gridtracker. I have not taken it out to POTA with yet as I figure out a few things. I am not an expert by any means in linux so have been figuring out things.

      That is what is cool about this radio is you can use the native FT8, or setup what ever software you want

    I couldn't get the RS998 not the Wolf. I had the earlier version of the sBitx which was really bad with the LDOs overheating beyond the temperature specs and other problems. How does this one works? Did you open it? Any overheating? I noticed that you had it set at 30w while the news psecs show 20 up to 20m and only 10w above that. The price went down too. Would you recommend it? I am 98% QRP.

      I like it. This is version 2 hardware running V3 software, so it can get up to 45 watts. I normally run FT8 at 25 watts but had it at 30 for this video. It will get warm but no overheating. It is a great FT8 rig and a good QRP SSB radio. I am not a CW guy but have heard it is a CW dream radio. Just a lot of fun. Some people blew the finals on V2 but have heard that the V3 hardware uses robust finals and that worry is gone

      @@N4GWthank you for your prompt reply Mike. I occasionally do ft8, mostly to experiment with antennas. I like CW but rarely do it because I don't succeed to get back to speed at copying. I might order one.

      @@N4GWMike, I received mine yesterday and I find it a major improvement from the software point of view compare to the v2 I used to have. The power output on 20m is only 16w in a dummy load and 12w in an antenna with a SWR of1.5:1. I'll have to find out why but I can live with this for the time being. I couldn't find any information on how to open the logbook. Hitting "Log" enter the data but how do I retrieve it?

      @@N4GW how do I access the logbook? I can read the logbook if I connect to the sBitx over my Wifi network but cannot retrieve it. On the sBitx itself nothing happens if I hit the Log button. Thanks for any info onhow to retrieve the log.

      Will need to look into it. I think through the web interface you can see it. If you want to download it make take some Linux skill set to do. I have not done that yet

    Hi Mike. The sBitx v3 looks pretty cool. Is there an S-meter on this unit?

    • @N4GW
      @N4GW  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry, no S meter
