"It appears that he has romanced the pit beast" if that aint the best sentence I've ever heard in my LIFE
Well, she did throw the bard in there...
honestly, i never expected any different knowing it was a bard she tossed down there
There's something very DnD coded about trying to execute a poet and him surviving because he seduced the pit beast 😭
there were definitely some dnd fans on the dev team for sims medieval, the vibes are there
Big bard energy for sure
The bard is at it again
When I was a teen and this just came out, I loved it with my heart and soul. Probably played it more than the original Sims 3. I really liked the idea of quests. So much drama with low effort lol
I loveddd it so much!!!
legit my favorite sims game
Same for me
I wish Journey to Batuu could have been a dedicated spin-off of this magnitude.
That was what I thought when I saw it: This should have been like Sims Medieval.
right??? they had everything to make smt epic but chose the bore cash-grab route, and nbd is surprised, really... just disappointed
Same here! Such a missed opportunity…
Yesss
Same. To be honest, the pack might have been a test to see how the community would react to a branded Sims game.
"each blemish gives your face a wonderful glow..." - "you're fired."
The fact that the poet romanced the pit beast just makes so much sense
The fact that it runs smoothly is so weird 😭😭
Keep in mind that Kayla has a super computer lol
@@dahliam77it runs surprising well on my iMac
@@dahliam77 Less packs than the sims 3 and that game is broken. what you need to run this game is just a bunch of ram. I have a laptop with 16 GB of RAM and it runs just fine
I ran this game with less than 4gb and it ran beautifully
It's not actually super resource intensive. And Kayla even had low graphics on.
Kayla failing to kill sims with the pit is like the opposite of how she keeps accidentally killing sims in the pond lol sims keeps uno reversing her
Riiiiight, "accidentally". 😉
Nah she never does stuff accidentally it’s just her cutting it and acting surprised
@@savvvysavvv1934 you must bs fun at parties huh
I wanna see MORE! This game is such a hidden gem for seasoned Simmers. I haven't finished a single Monarch's life yet. There's so much to appreciate in what they offered us. Please continue!!! Dilly dilly!
I hopped around so much between different heroes back in the day that I never finished with any of them 😂
Recreating the castle would be so cool! And maybe tweaking it a little? This is still my favorite sims game, but I always wished you could actually build in it.
Right? Great game, but my only issue with it is the absence of building. I understand why they made this choice, but I'd like to at least be able to move walls like in San Myshuno apartments
If they remastered this game, it would be over for me
I have told a few D&D DMs about the “whale ate my parents” trait and they have all been very inspired to create characters or scenarios because of it.
So the next cat is gonna be called Simsieville. I see.
I LOVE the wacky sims spin offs, and sims medieval is genuinely my favourite!!
Gosh I love The Sims Medieval. I wish they give us something like that in The Sims 4. Maybe gameplay-wise it can be like the Journey on Batuu.
Simsie adressing that you can be gay really got me for some reason LOL
I'd love to see you play the Sims Castaway (specifically the console version from PS2/Wii) it's by far one of my favorites of the spin offs. Urbz on PS2/Gamecube was also amazing so were the Urbz on DS, but they're harder to get into. The spin offs having stories and objectives really makes them a lot more enjoyable for me. I miss them making spin offs... I'd love to see more like Medieval, Castaway, and Urbz. Oh and definitely Bustin Out, that game was amazing as well.
I agree! If she can play castaway, she would probably really enjoy it! It’s like sims + cozy farm sim
@@adriancab8810Yeah plus it has good randomness happening. Like the other sims just doing things or monkeys randomly showing up to give you things. Plus the way you craft clothes and build I think she may enjoy as well.
I worked QA on this game and just remember be caught off guard when we started testing because we thought it was just an expansion for the sims 3. It was so unique for the time, I'm sad they never did anything else like this.
there's another reference to the pit beast in the sims 4, if u read the description of the medieval castle school project from parenthood there's an easter egg!
I love seeing all the love for the Sims medieval coming from this castle kit! First Sydmac and now lilsimsie, two of my favorite simmers!!
There’s so much they could have done with this concept, I love it so much.
I just had a chat with my dad about how I wanted to get The Sims Medieval, so this dropping now is perfect.
Omg Syd posted a vid like this yesterday! It's so fun to go back and look at how crazy these games were
I was just wondering if she saw Syd’s video!
I was us about to say that !!
cackling that both of them picked the whales trait 😭
Not the video opening with her throwing someone in the pit 😭😭😭
There's also Sixam Pit Beast (tentacles on a plate of ice) as an Experimental Food recipe in Dine Out.
I think this was the first sims game that had decent skin detail. It wasn't much but that age slider was so exciting to me and I remember wilding out in Walmart when I saw the box because the wrinkles and like texture was new and ~so realistic~
Also I've used mods to put the traits from this game in the Sims 4 and then forgot and I'd marry Sims who's parents were eaten by whales and been so confused
I appreciate that your reaction was the exact same to being asked to kill a bear and being asked to get grapes and honey😂😂
When I first saw that one when I first played this game, I was like, excuse me, I am not killing a freaking bear, those are too cute to kill... but in context it makes sense that it is the ruler's job to deal with wild animals menacing the townsfolk.
love your pfp👍
It would be so fun to have a running series with this game! Actually going through the quests, building the kingdom and heroes, completing the kingdom quest. Would be SO much fun!
i never played the sims medieval but knew it exsisted, so im delighted to watch this chaos unfold! would happily watch more of it :)
We luv the medieval content Simsie !!!
I love Sims Medieval! It's so quirky and weird but in the best way. It's always fun to watch play throughs of it!
The "Whale Ate My Parents" trait was the only thing I knew about this game coming in. I would be intrigued to see more of that.
this was my favorite as a kid!! i played this a lot more than sims 3, even though i had a bunch of the expansions! the story potential is so fun, especially with all the different roles you can fill. and there's so much to explore. would be so fun if we could get a reboot of it
i legit play this more than ts4 lol i love it soooo much. i am so glad you played it again!!!
Love that SydMac just did this and now seeing you. Yessss.
Medieval spinoff of Sims 3 and Castaway spinoff from Sims 2 were some of the most fun games ever! Old games didn’t look good but they were so much fun to play
Saw Sydney Mac play this game too, I remember playing this when it came out now I want to play it again
YES!! the sims medieval is actually THE BEST in the franchise!! the music, the world, the gameplay- is just 10/10s across the board
I loved this spin off but never understood how to complete it. You should try bustin out next!
Honestly, I enjoy the spin offs a lot more than the main games. I think it's because the spin offs have a story and objectives. The main games, especially with 4, are too "perfect world" style sandboxes that it annoys me. Like Bustin Out was fun because you had objectives and it was about actually building up from practically nothing. Castaway had the whole story of finding your shipwrecked friends then surviving and thriving or escaping. Medieval was great because you get to play multiple roles when you pick your current quest. Sometimes you're the king/queen, sometimes you're the guard, sometimes you're the healer, etc.
@Eventide215 yeah that's why I liked bustin out. I liked the quests
@@ffionlewis5394 Yeah just like for the main games I enjoyed the older ones because more chaos just happened as you played. Fires would start, robbers would steal your stuff, etc. Sims 4 is too "perfect" of a sandbox where in order for anything to happen you have to make it happen which gets extremely boring for me. It's also just too easy. Bustin Out, Urbz, etc all had objectives to meet and things to do along with playing Sims. So I always felt like I was actually doing something.
@Eventide215 yeah especially the sims 2
@@Eventide215 this makes me wanna play the spin offs, i think i played castaway once when i was really little but never medieval or bustin out. i'm at a point where when i do play the sims 4 i'm always doing some challenge or specific storyline to make it more fun
I redownloaded this a few months ago and it brought back so many childhood memories of playing it and then raging because how badly my old 2012 pc would lag. This game is a fever dream
The Sims Medieval is a follow-up to Sims Stories. It was designed to be a quest-based system with limited open box features, which was designed to be more PC friendly... However the game ended up being a lot more intensive than the Sims 3. My desktop could play the Sims 3 on medium settings at 720p, but I couldn't even get Medieval to run at 720p and it ran like a potatoe on low.
Fun fact: your kids can take over your profession when you die and they will age then, so you can have a whole legacy
Also when you fight you’re supposed to click and choose different stances and stuff
Kayla, I am not kidding, I am binge-watching your medieval streams RIGHT NOW! I LOVE Medieval! It has EVERYTHING I want from a Sims game! 😂
you playing it is like absolute childhood to me
The Sims Medieval was literally like a fever dream. I was in my 20s at the time and I remember playing it, but I also remember nothing about it at the same time.
Please play more, i never had this game but always wanted it, now i get to live through TH-camrs that play it 😂
i love you simsie youre the best content creator seriously .... u raised so much money for palestine its the cherry on top to every video ESPECIALLY this one i loved sims medieval sm as a kid
pleeeease do more streams of this, yes!!! I miss this game sm
God I loved the Sims Medieval as a kid- quests were just SO fun
I still play Medieval at least once a week. It's so funny to me. Lately the Smith hero is my favourite.
This is my favorite version of The Sims you play. Would love to watch more when you feel like playing it!
Medieval is so weird but I absolutely LOVED it, it's really neat
I would love more Sims Medieval content! I had the game on CD when I was younger and so far I am too stubborn to pay for it again to make it work on my current PC
YESSSS SIMS MEDIEVAL!!!
Would love to see you stream this again because your Sims Medieval streams are some my favourite streams that you've done
This is my absolute favorite sims game of all time (and I’ve played nearly all of them). If they remastered this I would simply cease to exist! If relationships were a bit better, kids actually aged up, and we could build (at least like it is with apartments in TS4 rn) I don’t know if I would ever touch another game
The sims medieval is one of my all time favorite games, played it all the time when i was younger. So glad you made a video about it!
I loved Sims Medieval so much when I was younger! Kinda hate the fact that back then it was on a disk and not accountbound yet, so no idea where I have the game :( But seeing this kinda gets me into wanting to find the disk to instal the game and play once more xD
I don't know if this is too large scale for the Game Pack format, but I would totally buy a Sims 4 Medieval Game Pack (like Strangerville).
I think they should make spin offs again. I would love this to be made again.
I love the sims midieval, stilll havent played the dlc's thougth I need to get on that!!!
omg syd did this yesterday! :D
I'm not sure if Kayla has the graphics settings in the game set to low (or maybe just didn't change them from default) but the textures don't look as bad as they're showing in the video. I play on my laptop and everything looks very detailed, so if you have a halfway decent video card, the graphics are good, I swear. 😅
I did not like it when it initially came out as I was excited for a fully sandbox experience, and was pretty bummed out. But when I played it when I got older I actually really enjoyed it. It's really fun, wish I still had it
I got Sims Medieval after watching simsie play it last time and honestly never regretted it. There's so much to do in this game and a bunch of funny dialogue 😆
As of writing this I played medieval for the first time and when I sent someone to the pit I was like oh cool I can kill people but when the pit beast came out i had no words just utter chaos
NEEDS a sequel.
With full cas and build would be awesome!
@@briarelyse5136 Yeah the main issue people had with it at the time was that you couldn't build castles (and since you couldn't build rooms you'd end up with situations where you wouldn't have as many bedrooms as you'd want). A sequel where you could build stuff more and with some sort of aging would be great and would be a better way to please all the people that want medieval gameplay than packs for the regular sims game where they're going to just pull out a cellphone
@@merchantfan agreed, I'm enjoying building castles atm with the new pack, but as a history nerd it's not going to cut it 😞
Man, I loved playing this version! It's so nostalgic to see a video like this and remember the time playing this version of The Sims 3
Girl,, please post more sims medieval content! Its AMAZING!!😃
Spin-off games like this, bustin' out, ... they were just on another level. Each so great. I wish they would remaster them.
would LOVE to watch more sims medieval! i remember when you were streaming this game a year or two ago and they were so fun
Have you played Medieval Dynasty? I love that game so much, I’d love to see you play! A bit more survival with like a little bit of combat (but mostly I just button smash to kill bandits lol)
all i want from EA is a Sims Medieval remaster - i've played every sims game over the past 20 years, all the spinoffs, my sims, etc and nothing has ever brought me more joy than Sims Medieval
Please play more games like this on ur channel!!!
Please play more🙏 I want to play this game so badly but I'd have to run some kind of script because it's not compatible with newer intel processors😢 This is such good timing honestly because I've been looking into this game more lately.
I would love a video on Sims Castaway, I had some fun with that on the Wii, never got super far though.
I’ve been waiting for you to replay this!! You convinced me to buy it last year watching your videos & it’s so fun & crazy!! You should definitely play more!
i looooove sims medieval, I recently discovered it again and i've been playing non stop! Would be fun as you have the pirates dcl to play within that storyline. You will have the HONOR to meet the eldest LANDGRAAB, Demetrius and Dacian💰 :) Love from France 🇫🇷
I always saw this game and wondered "what the heck is?" I've never actually seen gameplay before.
It would be so cool if you could recreate some of the buildings in this game
I was obsessed with this game when it came out - it knocked Sims 3 off my top played game spot 😂 I bought it again a little while ago and got so irritated with the tutorial and all the travelling to the market that I've barely touched it since 🤦🏻♀️ I need to go back to it at some point though.
Hey Kayla, I am wondering if you could do a video on how to get medieval to run on a new gen pc?
Yesterday I watched your most recent reno of Vlads house and it triggered memories of Hanna, cheese hair, fish basements and the infamous toddler attic.
i want a new version of this so bad.. i love playing it
hey kayla i bet this will never reach you - but if it does - i would love to see you do a get rich quick with stanley. in this get rich quick hes a musician. a musical hotdog. when you use the piano at the bar, you get tips from basically everyone who walks in. the higher level still you are at the piano, the higher the tip. i think this would be really fun! love you simsie
I loved this game as a kid. I played it as much as I played the sims 3 it was so fun
I LOVE THIS GAME. and yes build the castle
“I’ve got stuff to do today, but as soon as I’m done, he will pay.” is my daily life motto.
please make a whole the sims medieval series, i'm soooo invested 🥺😵💫 i got so much nostalgia
would love a full playthrough tbh
Once I married my royal advisor and then they were no longer the royal advisor any more and the game never spawned a new one so I couldn't do any daily tasks or quest objectives involving the royal advisor because I didn't have one.
So then I tried creating a whole new save and I STILL didn't have a royal advisor; I had to completely uninstall/reinstall the game.
I was rewatching your old letsplay from sims 3 medieval YESTERDAY. What on earth is happening that you've actually posted new video today😂
YES, please❣️ I would really love to watch some more Sims Medieval gameplay.❤ I love fantasy series such as "The Witcher" for example. Of course it is a totally different gameplay, but this version of the Sims really fascinates me and I never got a chance to play it before. I would really love to watch it!❤
I recently watched your past streams of Sims Medieval so this is perfect also it's the only Sims game I had when I was younger so I have a special place for this game
This era of the sims was peak. I still play castaways on the PSP, it's so good.
As a person that has 6 cats they may as well be pit beasts. Mine are all male so you can imagine how chaotic my house is on a daily 😂😂
a mini series of this would rock
I would love for some more medieval streaming!! I love the chaos of this game!
I want an updated version of this game SO BADLY
Omg PLEASE play Sims Medieval on stream again! I loved those streams so much
please do more sims medieval streams!! i watched all the vods when i got my wisdom teeth out two years ago
I would LOVE an hour long version of that, Or just sims 3 gameplay!
