such an intense moment when you're waiting to shoot off. it was my first time going on yesterday because the last time I went to Hershey I was too short. i went on twice and it was such a fun ride. it's my favorite at Hershey before sky rush which I also went on and sky rush is fun as well
yeah, it's always depressing when that happens. sometimes you'll get lucky and only wait like 10 minutes. the great bear is the best ride there in my opinion

@alain001 if your trying to say that the constant speed is given by the initial acceleration, and the coaster just rides that momentum out, you can see the ride accelerate right before the descent, like a push, not just terminal speed.
I went on this ride in 2005. I think that it was the longest wait that my sister and I experianced at Hersheypark: probably because it was still new (it had opened about a year before I went).
@alain001 the problem is that what you're talking about applies to a ride like Kingda Ka. However, storm runner doesn't just go up, slow down and go down. It goes up and pulls you down at a considerably high speed. The only way you can find out the real specs is to get them from Hershey.

@JerseyShore117 yes its a hell of a lot taller and faster in person. Really it looks like nothing unless your on the wide. The push is amazing, you dont get it from watching the video

i was here like today and yesterday. My dad and i got in line for this and we sat down but then it rolled back. we had to get off because it closed and also the farenhiet was closed so we had to wait two hours. Then today we were getting corndogs and all the power in the park from the storm runner back shut down. It sucked..... But we got on all the rides

@supercool97 well, who knows... you can guess the height of it. Then you can guess the distance of acceleration. m*v²/2=m*g*h --> v=squareroot(2*g*h). So you have the speed near the beginning of the upwards part. Lets add 10 km/h for safety and the cart didn't stop entirely. So you got a speed and a distance so you can calculate the time and linear acceleration of it. quite easy, isn't it?
@laserboy831 It depends what time you go, when I went it was a pretty cool day and cloudy so really not a lot of people were there, the only ride I had to wait more then 10 min for was for Fahrenheit which because its new, was really busy. and honestly, you still feel the force no matter where you go, I usually go for the middle though.
I'm assuming you mean the one below the ride. If so, it's called the Trailblazer. It's known for being pretty tame. The other black track above them is the Sidewinder.

this was my very first roller coaster and i screamed so hard my throat hurt for a week and when it launched i flew forward and hit my chin and had a bruise there for 2 months

I went on this with a friend of mine when we went on a day trip. One second my head was snapping back, I think I might have closed my eyes or something because I just felt weightless until that drop, on the way down.
@XxSuddenlyPsychotic interesting... my favorite coaster is actually the great bear... i don't really like the storm runner that much. after the novelty of it wears off, it's not that fun cause it only lasts for such a short time. the great bear is a solid ride imo.
I'm super scared because i'm going to hershey next week and our chaperones said to go on the big ones first, u know that feeling that u get in ur stomach like ur heart drops everytime u drop, does this have it and any tips for going on the because just watching it makes my heart drop and I am scared

I have motion sickness and I got on that ride, my face was pale as heck and I bawled my eyes out!!! But it was fun

Take off is cool. I like the horse sounds lol. And the double barrel roll is fun. But overall, I feel like this ride could have done more.

i rode something similar at disney. it was rocking roller coaster, it launched o-70 in 2 secs. you go upside down 3 times and some big drops

@TheEpic22 Not his fault. I was on it several hours ago; it's the fastest ride in the park and launches you from 0-72 mph in 2 seconds.
