Nice video. I just bought an X5 recently and absolutely love it. I have a fully loaded one. Highly highly recommend the $800 harman kardon sound system add on. It sounds amazing! You can also code all BMWs using the bimmercode smartphone app to do things like fold the mirrors in when locking vehicle, close liftgate with key fob, remove annoying driver safety warning on screen every time vehicle it turned on, and remove side amber lights when headlights are on. Other than that I'm in neighboring state up in Wisconsin so driving in the winter with Xdrive is very smooth. Especially with blizzaks tires.
Btw the sync button on the climate unit is used to sync both driver and passenger settings. I believe the X5 you reviewed also has the Xline appearance package because mine does too, although I'm not sure why yours doesn't have the aluminum side running boards. Great video, very informative, and cute too. Have a good one!

Hey Matty, how are you ? hope you're having a good day, so i watched your video for the 2017 BMW X5, i know its a couple years old but i have a friend that is offering me the same SUV and price wise is something i can afford to buy right now, problem is i never owned a BMW before, i have an Infiniti FX35 and its amazing but this SUV looks nice also, space interior and the technology looks good, mechanically speaking and sensors / transmission is there something i would need to be aware of on a vehicle like this ?? since i never owned one but seriously thinking on buying my friend's SUV, i know it wil be used but looks in really good condition, are they all come with an all wheel drive power train or you can adjust it to run either snow / sand / freeway etc ??
would be really appreciate it a small advise / opinion on a vehicle like this
    thanks

Hi Sandro, I don't know every detail about these as I've never owned one. But I do know if it says "xdrive" then it definitely has all wheel drive. Now as far as maintenance on bmw's, I would highly recommend buying one that still has warranty and checking the service history even though it's your friends.Service history can give you a good idea of what to expect owning this car Because these cars are great, but once you're out of warranty and things need maintenance, it is not cheap. Unless of course you're able to do things yourself. I own a 2012 3 series so i'm saying this from experience. Again, unless you're handy and can DIY, Just understand that once warranty is over, these cars can be very costly to maintain. but when they are maintained, they are fantastic.I'd also recommend taking it to a certified bmw dealer (Preferably one you trust and that has a good reputation) and getting an inspection. Ultimately, just Do a lot of research then decide what you'd like to do and be smart about your decision. Best of luck!

Hey! My dad has a BMW X5 35i and there is fume coming out of the left exhaust, but not out of the right exhaust. That was also the case in your video and i wanted to ask if you know the answer to that?

hey! yes this is normal for a cold start. BMW programmed it where only one exhaust flap opens during a cold start and the other remains closed. I have a BMW 335i, which contains the same N55 engine as the X5 35i and the exhaust does same thing during cold starts. The reasoning for it I don't quite remember, but i'm sure you can find it somewhere on BMW forums. However If this is happening after the car is already warmed up, then i'd get it checked out. hope that helps!
