@@helicalgoose try finding low level guards or bandits that you need to pass speech check with that you can do repeatedly? basically even civilians that automatically run and talk to you when you enter certain trigger points? I saw a video where someone hit the border of the map and when Henry spoke to himself he gained a level in speech. So doing something that makes Henry talks is the key.
@@dra6o0n Yup, that sounds about right. Henry talking gains XP. The part is getting him to say it a whole bunch one after another. But that is a great idea about hitting the border and making him say stuff. The part they fixed is that you can't just keep clicking on text to make Henry say things and gain xp. It is a one time use or limited, but the border thing maybe...
Yup, and if I remember correctly, you can get a special dice off him too. I was surprised by the value! The bailiff in the town sleeps in the Scribe hut, sometimes during the day. If you got decent stealth you can knock him out and take all his clothes which are worth a ton! He is a rich boy!
@@EpicGamerMan Oh they are one of my favorite customers, umm clients? :P I think that is everyone's favorite targets too, they are so darn rich. So you got to steal then kill, but it is a great target.
@@jeana8224 Thanks :) I do like that little town for just messing around since there are few guards. No one is going to stop you if you mess up. If you kill the bailiff early, then there is hardly anyone around to stop you.
Speech is tough. I am still on the hunt for that. There has to be a bug for it! Reputation there are things you can do ;) I am working on that, just got to iron out some details on certain triggers.
If you go into the archer's house, on the right you can access an easy lockpicked dresser and get all of his bows. Try to get back to your chest at the miller's (guards stopped me before and I had to do this a few times) and put them all in there and wait a few days until the are not considered stolen anymore. Keep the best bows and sell the rest :)
The archer's house? I will have to check this out. I am still not certain which is his house. I actually never paid any attention to the archer master other than this mission. The hunter is the one I am in love with. The guy sells better piercing arrows which are god tier ammo. I do not think the archer master has anything like that.
@@Haruzumakii Once you said free, that sold me :P The sad part is that if you're playing as "good Henry" He is one of the best Merchants to trade with overall. Doing his quest gives you a discount and keeping him in a good state he pays off.
If you need to get out of rattay quickly and without worrying about guards simply challenge one of the brawlers to a boxing match or if you finished that quest just wait for Milan to get near your location and challenge him to one. You'll get teleported out of the castle.
The script was not expecting a regular William of Tell to show up :P But Sir Hans Capon Bow is actually pretty good for that early in the game. Fast draw speed and decent damage so its well worth beating him into the ground with legit or non-legit methods ;)
If you buy a horse or do the exploit to sequence break the Skalitz raid to skip content and do it in reverse, you actually can 'own' a horse named 'horse' and use that in this mode. It comes with saddle and all.
I wonder the same too! I know there is a mod out there, the Dev mod or something which tells you all the exp you gain while you do it. I plan maybe later after I run out of ideas to do something like that. Right now I am too afraid to download any mods in fear that my precious save files go poof or what not. But the gains for speech are awful most of the time. The best ones are speech challenges which are rarer but give a bunch of xp!
To grind speech - just go to Sazava and jump into infinite line with Skalitz priest where you are convincing him to return back. Gives 2-5 exp every conversation.
I know exactly what you're talking about, that priest is broken, but I am not certain if he pays out XP every time. I remember trying to grind him, but he did not pay out XP after the first time. I am guessing they patched it, or either with a successful check its random if it will give you the XP? But this would be nice to know if you could do this, honestly 2-5 XP speech is better than anything else I have seen out there.
Can you break that part of the game to get to Talmberg Castle, in the last part of the game? When are they building a siege catapult and the castle is occupied by bandits? Can you get to the castle and free the princess? BTW: I have no idea how to make that column out of that meat.
Yah that is one of the projects I have been working on. ;) This is why you sort of seen a short clip of me "escaping" from Talmberg because I have been scoping out the situation and seeing the points of attack I can try to get into the castle. The column of beef depends on your graphics settings/physics setting too I believe. I use around medium graphics and physics to achieve this. I know on consoles people say they can't change their graphics, but it is worth a shot trying to build a small column. To practice get some beef, and drop 10 beef, one at a time. When you exit out of the menu the beef should be behind you a bit left or right depending on how Henry is facing. When exiting out of inventory try not to move for a couple seconds, let the beef settle. When you sort of have an eye on the beef behind you, move the opposite direction. This should give you a small column. The other key is to have flat ground too. The physics will make the beef jumble if the ground is not flat meaning you will not get a column like you desire.
I am tempted to steal all the horse in Merjoh too, but that is a long long ride. I think I died a couple times trying to cut through the forest and over a cliff while attempting that. I think I rage quit over it :P
It sure does :P But I think even without hitting the target once you can win this by just firing all your arrows to get the +3 points for finishing first. But to be fair, the training bow and training arrows they give you are trash. If you have not played this part in awhile try shooting with it and go, oh god! Even with like 8-10 skill in archery it was awful. Had to compensate big time.
Good sir, I'd like to give you an idea. You can use bandits for your own purposes, I mean for example to kill invulnerable characters or whatever. There is a way to deliver a bandit almost to every city and/or village. Unfortunately I don't how to bring more than one bandit without any problems, but anyway, I suppose it's possible to kill someone like captain Bernard or similar NPCs. For example I'd successfully murdered innkeeper from Ledechko, despite it was impossible to kill him conventionally. Nonetheless some characters can't be killed at all (or maybe they're too tough). Two Cuman-bowmens were not able to kill Theresa with their bows, but maybe this is because she's good runner and has a lot of health. Anyway, I believe you can do something interesting with your knowledge and creativity.
Yah, thanks for the tip. I will look more into this :) I have in the past tried to lead Bernard out in the country side into a bandit camp. He promptly murdered everyone there without breaking a sweat! I might of incorrectly put an assumption that he was immortal or untargetable. I mean everyone just ran away from him like crazy. Bringing bandits into a city seems much more difficult rather than leading out a single person out of the city if they will follow you. The target place that could work out the best is Talmberg when I think about it, since it is surrounded by events. I could kill all the guards in Talmberg and just leave Sir Robart by himself and have him chase me. Hmmm, thanks I will give it a try :)
@@helicalgoose without guards it's way easier to bring group of bandits to the city. For example bandits or cumans spawn near the lumberjack camp in the forest located to NE from Peshek's mill (you have to catch nightingales here). In case you reset combat instead of killing them and don't leave, this group of bandits will go towards Rattay. They always pass near bathhouses killing everyone they see and than turn towards executioner's house. Sometimes they even enter the gates of Rattay when they are trying to kill someone. But the problem is that they spread following different targets and don't keep together. So, either they don't enter Rattay at all or guards kill them one by one. The easiest option is to knock out one and deliver him to the place you need, but sometimes it's not enough. Also, I've got a strange bug here - sometimes knocked bandit or cuman don't attack anyone but just run in fear, even when no one attacks him. By the way high-level bandits in full plate are quite tough. I'd delivered once one of this guys right to Bernard's room. Surprisingly he (bandit) had managed to survive for some time fighting Bernard and several guards at the same time. Although he had not killed anyone because of lack of focus. He was changing his targets all the time. But in case of Ledechko similar bandit had killed innkeeper, one civilian, one guard and almost annihilated two more, so they are quite strong. Also, NPC's reaction is quite fun when they meet bandits or cumans.
@@helicalgoose update: there are few more spawn locations I know about: 1) Crossroad between Ledechko, lumberjack camp and the road to the mill with captured cuman. This group will go straight to Ledechko most of the time. 2) Road between Talmberk and Uzhitz. This group walks towards Uzhitz but turns to the left after they pass local archery camp. Also, the group from spawn place between Sasau and mill with captured cuman walks towards Sasau, but I haven't checked where they turn on the crossroad. Although suppose they choice right direction, but not to Sasau.
There are NPCs that you think you can kill but they just come back to life. Know those Circators, John and the other one who are drinking in the Monastery? I killed them. The game allowed it, but they come back to life. The game has characters it literally doesn't even allow you to attack like the leader in Vranik. The game has characters that are simply immortal like the Combat Master there. I spawned in a load of bailiffs to Vranik and they just knock him about attacking him to the point he couldn't attack back, just tries to flee to the exit. He can leave and come back in. I got bored looking at it after a while. It's funny to see him getting knocked around but there comes a point you just want to reload an earlier save. Spawning in any NPC yeah, you can do that with a cheat mod that will let you spawn anyone in. Bandits and Cumans spawns in way too many of them it'll tank your FPS really damn quick. Any NPC you think you shouldn't be able to kill by conventional means or NPCs that are important to the story that you can kill like the Circators, track that and see if they come back. The Circators I know do. It was hilarious to see people in the Monastery still running around talking about dead people but they were alive again walking around.
@@paulcrowley3172 I didn't mean 'cheat mod' but natural spawn points where they are supposed to ambush Henry. Actually it makes ambush events pointless after several hours of gameplay (at least in hardcore mode), because you can remember all "dangerous places" and easily avoid it. But behavior of this hostile NPCs is quite interesting, the same about their interaction with regular NPCs. What about using them for you purposes... I've killed immortal innkeeper (you can't even knock him out) by bandit, so suppose it's possible to kill whoever else. Probably even characters like sir Racek or sir Hanush can be defeated doing this way. But I personally cannot perform this experiment, because I'm not so good in guard-cleaning. It's important because NPCs by protection of guards are hard targets.
It produces the same effect as horses. The archers just sit there and stare at the target letting time run out. Sort of bummer that they do not try shooting at the target. This is unreliable though, because sometimes beef just starts falling over, and one beef stack is not enough to stop them from shooting if I remember correctly. The ground needs to be flat to put it in front of the target to block the important bits, but I do not think beef stacking works that well in the location there. :(
@@helicalgoose You do need to kill guards. Hanush and Kobyla tried to escape Henry by going out the door that leads to the Tower. There were no guards there and Hanush gave Henry 700 Gold to go away. Right pair of Cowards. neither of them tried to fight.
Hmm, I do not think so. I have not tired it yet, but I know on other missions with that perk if you can not "wait" then that perk is inactive. What happens when you get that drunk, your screen will blimp slightly black then you just go back to being normally drunk. It sucks to be honest. I was trying to break the game that way, but they sort of put a halt into that issue.
What ever you do, don't use people. For some reason they get freaked out if they kill someone lol. Found this out playing chumps when one of them ran in front of the other guy as he was shooting... Didn't end well. Especially when I got blamed for it.... I personally keep hans bow specially for archery comp and rabbit hunting for it's speed, except for chumps that is since it's more about accuracy than speed.
that is interesting, I never really pay attention to the speed of the bows before. Usually I just look at the big number at the start and go with that :P But if Hans bow is faster, there are cheesy ways to combat people with the bow, especially if it is faster! But it is great to see NPCs shoot each other, and kill each other too! There are spots you can get to that the guards can't follow so people bring out their bows whoever have them. Then the guards with bows try shooting you, but end up hitting the guys in front without the bows killing them. And not once have I hard anyone calling the guards on the murders with the bows! Hiprocy!
@@helicalgoose with a bow, strength and agility skill of level 20 it takes hans bow a little under 2 sec to get to full draw and it takes the sinew bow a little under 4 sec to get full draw. Since the first person to shoot all their arrows gets an extra 3 points those extra couple of seconds can make all the difference if you are doing a master comp and you're unlucky enough to face people that hit the bullseye with every shot. For chumps I'll use the strongest bow I can get for that extra distance an arrow will fly before dropping
Yup, I remember seeing something like that too. I just can't remember what caused it. The easiest way I could make him not shoot at all, or in any archery contest is by using horses or even stacking beef in front. But the way horse theft is treated in this game, you might as well go with a horse ;)
Oh that is a good one too! I wish they did have capes in the game, it would look ultra fancy and serve little purpose other than making things even more graphically buggy. But would make for some nice screen shots.
Thanks :) I think it is roughly 4-8 hours editing and about 10-15 hours looking for things to break during the week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The horse stealing thing did not take me too long or I did not notice because I was busy watching other youtube videos on my other screen while I did it. The people at stable had no interest in trying to stop me after the 20th horse I stolen :P
I love when that happens :P The best way to deal with guards is to fake surrender, then punch at them and they will put away their weapons to box you. (Well the one you are targeting). This generally allows you to box them down or either pull out your weapon and get a few free hits in before they can pull out their.
That is interesting...never factored in the crime cost/difficulty checks. The only problem with trying to speech check with really high crime attached is that the reputation system catches up to you too fast and all the guards go 0 to -100 reputation with you. Also I think I have heard that the type of crime matters too, like murder is nearly impossible to get away with using speech checks. I have done it before but all of them surprised me.
That is actually impressive. I think the first time playing this I did not hit the target once, and thought to myself..."well archery is off-limits to me" :P Archery is quite OP in this game, and add in the little dot, boom its god mode. Only exception to this rule is the bandits that wear full plate, with full plate helm covering the face. If they're running at you, there are going to be problems. But that is where good old Mr. Mace comes into the scene.
Nice! The archery in the game can be a pain in the butt, especially at low levels. Plus the bow they give you, with the tournament arrows makes your aim all screwed up. I think my first time through I could beat him in sword fight but not archery, he wiped the floor with me :P
@@helicalgoose idk why it was so easy, especially since on my recent trips to archery contests it's waaaaaay less easy, I just kinda saw where my arrows were going and kept drilling the same spot, which can only mean RNJesus was with me because man the spread kills me nowadays, I play with a little dot drawn on my screen with a wet erase marker over the crosshair so I can aim bow more easily, and it's so much easier to see how inaccurate I am now.
Lol Idk how I got this on hardcore Ps4 I always use the bow cause I’m playing a charismatic douchebag and the Lord Capon’s bow seems most fitting. Jesus that piss was nice.
Henry does have quite a bit of dialogue option that you can make him sound like a douchebag. Becoming an archery hot shot in this game is quite satisfying. Especially killing bandits before they can finish their quips of "Look who the come to the slau...." *Thunk*
@@helicalgoose yeah it’s always the charisma option which make him sound like that. ‘Sir Radzig will be’ ‘in the name of sir Radzig’. I always choose those.
That always gets me a little bit that Henry is so readily to use Sir Radzig's name anywhere for nearly any situation. I am surprised he does not try to get free beer by using "I, Henry of Skalitz, in the service of Sir Radzig, Hetman to the King of Bohemia, the holy roman Emperor, demands that you give me your finest ale."
I felt like I had to explain this one :P When I was editing this video I could hear the keyboards clacking away already on this one. I just like Capone better than Capon. But I am not certain if Capon has a different meaning for Lords or what not. But I like calling him Capone and will continue to do it :P
It is quite easy, but I only usually do it with the dot. Without that little dot, I do not know how well I would do with archery. Also, at that level when fighting against Hans, I think you're suppose to have like level 1 archery which Henry shakes the bow like he is drunk on a unicycle.
I hope for the world that Henry will never lose is temper

And I think the normal speaking is like 1-2 points, which is not bad if you're playing the game normally, but I have not really found a way to exploit the speech system in the game so far.
It would be a top tier exploit for KCD :P
In original Czech dabing, Capon's name is "Jan Ptáček". Means "Hanz little bird" xd
No way! That is awesome, I never knew that and now makes more sense based on the translation.
Thanks :D

In uzitz, the guy upstairs in the auberge, near your bed, you can steal him high money amount a lot of times

Oh they are one of my favorite customers, umm clients? :P
I think that is everyone's favorite targets too, they are so darn rich.
The part that you sort of have to do is avoid killing them or knocking them out too soon.
I think if you kill them their stock from the shop just magically vanishes, like wtf!
So you got to steal then kill, but it is a great target.
@@jeana8224 Thanks :)
I do like that little town for just messing around since there are few guards.
No one is going to stop you if you mess up. If you kill the bailiff early, then there is hardly anyone around to stop you.
Wish there was a way to farm speech or reputation
Speech is tough. I am still on the hunt for that. There has to be a bug for it!
Reputation there are things you can do ;)
I am working on that, just got to iron out some details on certain triggers.
Lol, Hans capone. I like that. Might use it.
@@helicalgoose I meant the hunter! Oops. He does have great stuff, you can have it all for free if you sneak into his house

The sad part is that if you're playing as "good Henry"
He is one of the best Merchants to trade with overall.
@@jasonoverman9679 good advice! Never thought of that
The script said I was trash at archery when I hit the middle of the target
The script was not expecting a regular William of Tell to show up :P
But Sir Hans Capon Bow is actually pretty good for that early in the game. Fast draw speed and decent damage so its well worth beating him into the ground with legit or non-legit methods ;)
I think the speech is so how due to the fact that guards are supposed to be intimidating and scary making there speech level so high just a theory.
If you buy a horse or do the exploit to sequence break the Skalitz raid to skip content and do it in reverse, you actually can 'own' a horse named 'horse' and use that in this mode.
It comes with saddle and all.
lol, I think I have seen that before. Having a "horse" is not bad, but I still think its stats was even worse than god blessed pebbles :P
What if you bring just one stolen horse back to Neuhof stables? Will you be able to buy it?
That is an interesting thing to find out.
I will give it a try. :)
I wonder how speech is influenced with xp calculations.
Yah that is one of the projects I have been working on. ;)
This is why you sort of seen a short clip of me "escaping" from Talmberg because I have been scoping out the situation and seeing the points of attack I can try to get into the castle.
Lmao all the horses i didnt see that come
I am tempted to steal all the horse in Merjoh too, but that is a long long ride.
I think I died a couple times trying to cut through the forest and over a cliff while attempting that. I think I rage quit over it :P
Lol i hated that game my first play through
Henry at 8:40
with wh_pl_showfirereticle 1 and max level archery by farming cows and sheep in skalitz also helps
It sure does :P
But I think even without hitting the target once you can win this by just firing all your arrows to get the +3 points for finishing first.
But to be fair, the training bow and training arrows they give you are trash. If you have not played this part in awhile try shooting with it and go, oh god!
Even with like 8-10 skill in archery it was awful. Had to compensate big time.
Liked before watching cause I know it's a banger
Thanks :)
I hope it lived up to expectations :)

Hans Capon (kuhpone) sounds like a mob boss lol
I will look more into this :)
I have in the past tried to lead Bernard out in the country side into a bandit camp.
@@helicalgoose update: there are few more spawn locations I know about:
1) Crossroad between Ledechko, lumberjack camp and the road to the mill with captured cuman.
What happens if you dump all your beef and items to pile up in front of the archery target? does it stop the arrow?
It produces the same effect as horses. The archers just sit there and stare at the target letting time run out. Sort of bummer that they do not try shooting at the target.
This is unreliable though, because sometimes beef just starts falling over, and one beef stack is not enough to stop them from shooting if I remember correctly.
The ground needs to be flat to put it in front of the target to block the important bits, but I do not think beef stacking works that well in the location there. :(
Attack Hanush and Kobyla in the castle. Hanush will pay you to go away after you deal with the guards.
I've never seen that before. Usually they just run away looking for more guards haha
@@helicalgoose You do need to kill guards. Hanush and Kobyla tried to escape Henry by going out the door that leads to the Tower. There were no guards there and Hanush gave Henry 700 Gold to go away. Right pair of Cowards. neither of them tried to fight.
If you play on hardcore with the perk Somnabulant and sleep near Talmberg during the Siege mission, can you teleport to Talmberg that way?
Usually I just look at the big number at the start and go with that :P
But if Hans bow is faster, there are cheesy ways to combat people with the bow, especially if it is faster!
That is some good details I should take into consideration :P Thanks!
Hans not firing is a bug, I've seen him not shoot without horses in front.
Yup, I remember seeing something like that too.
I just can't remember what caused it.
The easiest way I could make him not shoot at all, or in any archery contest is by using horses or even stacking beef in front.
But the way horse theft is treated in this game, you might as well go with a horse ;)
Hans Cape On
Oh that is a good one too!
I wish they did have capes in the game, it would look ultra fancy and serve little purpose other than making things even more graphically buggy.
But would make for some nice screen shots.
how many hours did you need to make this video? wtf great work.
Thanks :)
I think it is roughly 4-8 hours editing and about 10-15 hours looking for things to break during the week.
Sometimes more, sometimes less.

The best way to deal with guards is to fake surrender, then punch at them and they will put away their weapons to box you. (Well the one you are targeting).
This generally allows you to box them down or either pull out your weapon and get a few free hits in before they can pull out their.
Speech checks might do better IF you have higher crime costs? EXP varies by how much risk you take maybe?
That is interesting...never factored in the crime cost/difficulty checks.
The only problem with trying to speech check with really high crime attached is that the reputation system catches up to you too fast and all the guards go 0 to -100 reputation with you.
Also I think I have heard that the type of crime matters too, like murder is nearly impossible to get away with using speech checks. I have done it before but all of them surprised me.
Finally a good KCD video
Haha thanks :)
Glad you enjoyed.
I won this the first time I ever did it on expert difficulty without cheats, it was just easy for me 😂
That is actually impressive.
I think the first time playing this I did not hit the target once, and thought to myself..."well archery is off-limits to me"
:P
Archery is quite OP in this game, and add in the little dot, boom its god mode.
Only exception to this rule is the bandits that wear full plate, with full plate helm covering the face. If they're running at you, there are going to be problems. But that is where good old Mr. Mace comes into the scene.
Idk how but on my first try I absolutely annihilated Hans
He scored 8
I scored 19
Do you say the wrong names on purpose? You must be!

Beating archery is easy
It is quite easy, but I only usually do it with the dot. Without that little dot, I do not know how well I would do with archery.
Also, at that level when fighting against Hans, I think you're suppose to have like level 1 archery which Henry shakes the bow like he is drunk on a unicycle.
