My suggestion to make both the Blue Devil and Ogua feel unique are these. Blue Devil: relentless attacking, no headbutts but just bites, when it howls you are scared but stay on place not run away, when it mutates is eyes turn red and deals bleed damage. Ogua: the shell always reflects damage like in mutations, only weak spot is the head while the body is invulnerable or just reduced damage, when in shell form it calls mirelurks to come aid it, when it mutates the shell breaks a little to give it more mobility and attack speed but cannot reflect damage

I'm assuming because they would need to create a new model entirely only creature that has the same type of build similar to bigfoot would be super mutants but bigfoot would be much bigger
@MOMOMARMAR (MOOPH) actually it is. Bigfoot have stories and sightings all over the country and globe. With few exceptions like Italy. And very few cryptids are exclusive to one area as mothman has been seen in Chicago and the Jersey devil in New York. Every cryptid on this game has been seen in other places so it's not like the cryptids in 76 are exclusive to west Virginia

Not only for the reasons stated in lore- bred for racing and fighting- but also because this doesn't seem like a natural mutation, since dogs in Fallout have been shown to turn into Mongrels. Given the German Shepherds association with police and military, I could see it being used in some form of government contracted genetic experimentation, especially given the pre-war military's efforts to create supersoldiers (super mutants) and engineer creatures to deploy as shock troops (Deathclaws). The similarities to the Deathclaw could even be explained this way in-lore if it was created as part of the same research project.
Im glad to see how far your content has come! I've been here since you had just a few dozen subs, and now your all the way at 24k! We all await to see how much farther you'll go! And for the Blue Devil, I feel like they should key into its speed more. Like a flatwoods monster, instead of teleporting, it should had rapid dodge attacks followed by a powerful swipe. And they should also replace the headbutt animation with a lunging bite.
It needs a bite attack with bleed damage and like 90% disease chance. The howl should have alternately 1 of 3 effects: fear, wolf pack summoning, and paralysis. Also, it would be cool to find a pup or pups in a random encounter or side quest. Maybe even get a Blue Devil pup for an ally back at your camp. Also, maybe the bite has a timed effect running on it and if not treated within that time, then something happens -- maybe become a Blue Devil for a short period of time (they could use the code for the Lycanthrope from Skyrim) or death or fill-in-the-blank.
They should add status effects to all of the blue devils attacks, bleed, poison, rads... as well as diseases. For the howl instead of fear, inflict fatigue: +100 carry weight 0 ap replenish, make everyone slow and no vats for the howl duration. I feel these simple mechanic changes would help out a lot.
I think he might be a blue nose pit bull terrier. Terriers were bred for rat catching and racing and bull terriers were later bred for fighting (especially "pit fighting"). His sharp muscles and cute white belly also fit the resemblance.

The blue devil reminds the OG design of the Yao Guai in Fallout 3/New Vegas, specially since that version looks like a Frenzied Hollow Ghoullify/Zombie bear. Hope many creatures of 76 become a stable to the franchise, kinda a waste only seeing them in one game.

I'm personally chosing to believe whoever wrote that note is doing a lot of speculating, rather than working off of factual info. I prefer cryptids to retain an air of mystery, and "oh, yeah, it's just a mutated dog'' is probably the most boring origin they could give it, let alone to include it on the patch that introduces it.
The only issue I have with the model is that its upper arms never are lifted up that high while its attacking, thus making the animations look abit stiff.

Bought 76 the other day off Amazon mostly because it was 14 bucks for ps4 copy and steel book as well, installing on my beautiful ps5 as I work tonight
Not happy with the fact that this thing can force players to run off in fear purely because it makes no sense. The player character has faced deathclaws, scorchbeasts, super mutant behemoths and sheepsquatches just fine. Why would an oversized wolf be any different?
Tbh, it’s a shame it still has the headbutt attack but it’s cool nonetheless edit: I think it’s either a mutated coon hound, as those are popular in Appalachia, or a mutated Weimaraner
i like the blue devil but i feel like its less intimidating than Sheepsquatch, and doesnt even look stronger than deathclaw. Sheepsquatch has many different kind of attacks, i think its one of the most well made monsters in 76. And Deathclaws are of course pretty mundane in 76 , not even threatning, less than crickets. Ogua is pretty original and well made tho. I wish we could somehow fight all these bosses together somehow. Like nuking a prime fissure site in the mire and we get a SBQ and ogua or blue devil also joining to her.
Will there be an update to the liquid courage recipe then? Only Earl can drop the ingredient for it right now. With two creatures we have to use it at it makes it hard to have any liquid courage.
Agreed. In fact I think they may have used the model from Skyrim. Haven't played that without mods in years so I don't even remember if my Lycanthropes in there still use the base game model or not.
Hopefully the Blue devil isn't going to be as tough as the wendigo Colossus that sometimes spawns ( trust me I tried soloing the wendigo colossus after a nuke drop for the scorched Earth event broke all my weapons trying to kill this thing being unable to kill it 😢)
@@UraniumFever76 Nevermind the howl, the Blue Devil should have its own ability unique to it; the Ogua can go inside its shell, the Colossus can fear and summon adds, and the sheepsquatch has the charge and stomp attacks, so I think a heavy hitting AoE/cleave attack would be cool since it has claws.

I was only interested in Fallout 76 because I thought there was a Warewolf on the loose, not a spliced gene creature that's indestructible. I have not long started Fallout 4 (GOAT Edition) because my Stream Co-host wanted me to check out Fallout 4 & I am loving Fallout 4, apart from the stupid monsters. My co-host is now trying to sell me Fallout 76 so we can team up but with Starfield around the corner & my channel geared up ready for my early access, my decision was all on the Warewolf hunt. Your video, this video has completely smashed my excitement for the hunt. It is not a Warewolf but a spliced creature out of control. No thanks.

I was also disappointed to see it was so heavily based off the Deathclaw - but so was the Sheepsquatch initially but that went through changes in the PTS before release. Hopefully it gets more work done before June, but it’s good to see some changes already I think!

I'm surprised BigFoot isn't in this game yet. BigFoot and his cousins(Yeti, skunk ape) are my favorite crytid. Bigfoot PA would be so awesome.

The howl should spawn all the canine type enemies to attack you. Imagine how cool it would be getting swarmed by a horde of good boys.

I was honestly thinking of the jersey devil when they said red ngl.

The dogs it could be are Siberian Husky, wolfdog, or even a wolf.
All three have been sled race breeds and at points fighting dogs.
