I loved her personality, her singing, her beauty, her glamorous clothes, her love and caring for dogs, and all her movies. She always seemed to me like someone I could be great friends with because she was so down to earth. There was not a diva bone in her body, just the girl next door like everyone said.

Thank you. I’ll always be a fan. Especially Calamity Jane & she was so exceptionally beautiful. I just can’t believe she finally looked like this. One ultra talented woman who will always enrich our world & her kindness to animals was perhaps her biggest accomplishment.

I learned how to sing listening to her as a kid. She is wonderful.
My mom's best friend's mother, Mrs. Roebke, used to babysit Doris Day when she was a child.
I grew up watching her movies and her singing. She was so lovely and had a superb voice. I cannot think of any movie that was a disappointment.. loved her.. it was so sad what happened to her from the shysters and thieves. I have quite a few DVDs of Doris that love.. 💖💞
In hindsight, Doris Day was one of the best and most enduring stars of the 40s and 50s. She was an excellent vocalist and recorded from the forties.

Not a "rom-com," "Love Me or Leave Me" was a serious film about a destructive marriage. On another topic, when asked why choose an inexperienced singer to act, a director explained that you can't teach an actor to sing, but singers are automatically good actors.
Yep. Love Me or Leave Me is a very harsh story about a singer wanting fame, not the love of the person who supported her. I'm not sure if the character was alcoholic as well. NOT a rom com, bud.

Young at heart was brilliant enjoyed every minute of that film. She also made many other very good films.
One of my favorites was Midnight Lace. It was more drama and mystery than her usual comical and musical roles.

Why are they omitting the fact that her and Sly Stone once lived together in her Bev Hills mansion and that he used to shoot holes in the ceiling, scaring the daylights out of her and Terry. I know this is true because I hung out with Terry. I remember her buying Sly a Bentley in 1972, that he ended up driving it through the window of Tower Records while it was full of people not long after it opened. I know this is true because I owned the pool hall (The Corner Pocket) on Sunset and Horn, right across the street from the record outlet. Me an Taj Mahal were standing outside of it one evening smoking some blond Lebanese I had brought up from Laguna Beach, and we both witnessed the event.
