If you really think about it, the opening of smash was almost made for Sora's reveal trailer. "Colors weave (all the fighters as figures) into a spiral of flame (the smash logo), distant sparks (the falling flame) call to a past still unnamed (Mario). Bear this torch (Mario picking up the keyblade) against the cold of the night, search your soul and reawaken the undying light (Sora freeing all the fighters from being statues)" it's crazy how well it works when you really think about it.

Honestly it was a miracle Sora made it in at all. It’s one thing to get approval from Square, but it’s another to get that same thumbs up from not just just Square but also Disney. Think about it: Sakurai KNEW this was a highly requested character but there was always that one snag that kept it from becoming a reality and it was the House of Mouse. So the fact that he barely made it into the game makes it all the more satisfying.
It won't happen, but Sakurai is a massive troll. Just imagine, in December, an unannounced trailer hits the net and its Challenger Pass 3. It seriously doubt it, but I would laugh my ass off and the internet would shatter.
Actually, I am truly sad it's over, so... If this happens, I will scream even more than I did in this reveal. And that will probably ruin my voice. But it would be 100% worth it.
Hear me out, Smash Run makes it's glorious return in Smash Ultimate, but with more versions so it doesn't get boring playing on only 1 map. There's new final stages for the end of Smash Run too, and guess what? Unique Break the Targets + Board the Platforms for each character!

if one thing can say about these past 5 years....if living through that and depression was the one timeline that gave us this moment, then it was worth the trip....just not only the reveal but the raw positive emotions and reactions from fans whom some kinda accepted Sora would not make it, seeing the reactions along with Simple and clean playing, may me feel so emotional, and never need that moved by any game announcement or their reactions to that level.

Honestly Fighters Pass 2 is really worth it. Even if you don't really care about the characters themselves, Steve is unique to play, Pyra and Mythra are a really fun character on their own. And well, Sora is Sora. You can't go wrong with that.

The way I read the trailer is that the darkness has swallowed all of the smash world the key blade was able to find a small spark and enter smash world where it called to Mario telling him to throw it and it will unlock the real undying light which is in fact SORA!!!

They said legal. But there HAVE been some stages that don't have hazards but are illegal because the background is too distracting. Northern Cave for example is illegal in most tournaments because of the extremely busy background. It's possible the Hollow Bastion flight or Dive to Heart transition might be deemed too busy. But it's also possible it will be legal.

While Sora is great and the best way to end it, you didn't need to be a sore winner at the end dunking on characters others wanted.

While I think Phoenix Wright, Crash, Chief, and all the others DEFINITELY deserve a spot in the roster, I felt the best way to satisfy a good majority of the fan base while concluding the career of Sakurai on a high note was to include Sora last. I didn’t clarify myself, and I’m sorry.

How is Hollow Bastion / Dive of the Heart illegal? Last I saw, it’s only illegal IF it has hazards.

They said legal. But there HAVE been some stages that don't have hazards but are illegal because the background is too distracting. Northern Cave for example is illegal in most tournaments because of the extremely busy background. It's possible the Hollow Bastion flight or Dive to Heart transition might be deemed too busy. But it's also possible it will be legal.
