Excellent video, Lot to learn from. I was inspired by you. I bought 2 (two) bare roots which are (1) Sugar cane jujube and (2) Contorted jujube. its branches and buds swell now. Now I am your fan. I do not have much knowledge about jujube. Just follow you as a good mentor. Trees are expensive. When good time to grafting
Do your Jujube trees go dormant and drop their leaves in Winter? My Honey Jar finally woke up yesterday in a 15-gallon pot. My Li awoke a couple of weeks ago, also in a 15-gallon pot. The suckers on my Li started leafing out before the grafted part.
My ga866 died at the graft, im now letting the wild jujube grow it is small i lost about 80 dollars as well no refund 😔 il probably graft onto it later but i am also curious about the wild variety
I'm not sure what killed mine, could be gophers? Very disappointing since I was hoping with the two ga866, at least i get double the harvest of low production. Ill graft another Ga866 when the branches get thicker.
Yes, 1 cut stop, 2 cut grow. Honey jar should be showing some main trunk leader growth after waking up, all 3 of mine doesn't so I'm a little concern. Even without pruning, the central leader growth should show up . I'll just be patient and wait hehe.
@@TreehouseVineyard from what I have read certain jujube varieties grow more central leaders than other do so I wouldn't be discouraged. I bought a book off of Amazon called "ancient yet modern, popular yet unknown : the Chinese jujube" this book teaches a whole lot of information on jujube's I highly recommend it, it covers just about everything you need to know about jujube and much more. I have learned so much with this book it is a gem for sure.

I will add So (contorted ) to my collection soon. I read the fruit is actually good and the zigzaging branches are quite ornamental as well.
@@TreehouseVineyard , Thanks
Just found out the local nursery have So and Coco in stock. Will be getting those in a few days.
Thanks for the tour, beautiful property! I wish we had that much green on our area lol
Thanks for watching! I would replace all the grass with wild flowers if I can, too much mowing!
@@TreehouseVineyard I can only imagine the mowing!
@@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard 4 acres of grass to mow!

juju on that be(at)
From my understanding there is a certain way to cut the top to promote new growth and you may know this as but but it is one cut stop two cut grow
And it can take sometimes two years to get the growth
