Thanks for the song and video about Santa Barbara. It’s my hometown too and will love it forever. Grew up on Alta Vista Road. Now live in Iowa and dream about being able to retire to SB. Don’t believe that will be in the cards as my husband will have something to say about that. Ha! I also remember the stop lights on the highway, the railroad tracks, the marina, mission and State Street and especially the beaches. Never will forget the 4th of July fireworks being set off from the ocean and not having to leave home because of the awesome view. Thanks Chris for the memories.

I grew up in Huntington Beach Ca. Lived there from 1963 to 1993 and still go down there. This song hits me every time I hear it. The lyrics are so true for us who grew up there. NO ROOM FOR THE WORKING MAN.

The cost of living, as well as the taxes have made it so expensive for a blue collar workers to afford it. Also massive regulations that have forced many manufacturers to move out of state. At least that is my take
@@crazydiamond3403 Chris grew up in Santa Barbara. I did too but now live in Iowa. I would love to live out my life in SB; however, the cost of housing alone would suck the dollars out of my retirement account, let alone the cost of living in CA. SB is still my favorite place and I’m happy knowing that Chris is a fellow native.

@@crazydiamond3403 It means that when we grew up there, our parents were regular people with regular jobs. We did all the things that he says... We had to clean oil off our feet when we left the beach because there was an oil spill off the coast in the early '70s. So there were globs of oil. We cruise down State Street and lowriders put on a show. We heard Mariachi music, shopped at Jedlicka's for our cowboy boots, had a nice, family friendly, inexpensive festival in August... Fiesta. We were carefree, we were regular kids with regular working parents. But then it became more and more of a tourist town, bigger hotels were built and cruise ships started docking off the coast. Working class people can't make it there anymore.

Plays with Foo Fighters and writes music with Grohl for a number of years, and bangs of bad country after all that influence.
