Hey shroom love the vid man and I love the Kmart and budget series you make I was wondering if you could actually make videos on some snapper, kingfish, bonito etc especially on chrome/metal lures! Whether it’s from Kmart or a tackle shop I don’t mind I’d love to see you catch some of these monsters on chromies! Also I’m wondering if you have ever fished freshwater and your opinion on freshwater fishing if you have done it as I’m yet to try it. All the best ❤❤

I've lost plenty of expensive lures and found out that time of day , conditions etc, is more important than price.
Cheap lures work, just maybe upgrade the hooks and rings.
Except for the cheap supermarket vibe lures I bought that floated. 😂

I think you fishing with a telescopic Jarvis Walker rod is demeaning. Don’t worry about those silly budget challenges, just use the good gear to catch more fish. At the end of the day we’re in it for the fishing content. On the other hand they were great little Mack Tuna, little green and blue bullets. Love em!😮
Thanks Justin, I'm not the biggest fan of the telescopic, I think for 20 bucks, the other Jarvis Walker rod I bought for the other challenge is way better! I actually bought 2 of these and I gave both combos to the kids and one already snapped in half

My dad had an expensive Silstar telescopic that was fantastic.
He lost it in the lake but I went diving and found it again.
Then he managed to break it 😢.
I have a few really cheap Shimano telescopics and a few dearer Daiwa ones.
The cheap ones are pretty bad with soggy tips but the more expensive ones are OK.
If you can afford it then the multi piece travel rods from Shimano and Daiwa are better.
Spewing Ted, after all that to break it but hopefully kept some great memories of that thing! Yeah telescopics aren't my cup of tea, I would go multi piece instead. I need to get a multi for cod, one piece expensive rods were a liability the last time I went haha

I caught my best Cod on a Shimano telescopic and 2kg line. It was like trying to land a submarine. The rod was useless. 😆

Cracker vid shroom, ive really been looking forward to your budget videos! Just wondering, for your custom rod, would you like the wrapping on the rod tip to be mildly glow in the dark, or it can be a bright yellow or green, or orange. I have found that having a brightly coloured tip is very useful for day fishing and if your facing the sun. Also great at night time when your using a headtorch! So Shroomy, please let me know which rod tip colour you would like, or if you just want plain black or any other colour of your choose perhaps red. The rod should be fully ready by 1/5 or 3/5. Keep in contact with my teacher. Cheers. Peter.
Awesome Peter, which ever looks brightest at night. Im not sure glow is the brightest strangely enough. Those reflective tape on road workers jackets and road markings seem to be good but I don't know if that's possible
@@ShroomFishing Thanks Shroom, I do have a piece of that tape at home but im not sure how well it will stick to the tip of a rod due to have skinny the diameter is. I'll have to play around with it and see, ill keep your request in mind. If things are successful I'll likely do either the glow in the dark or a bright semi fluro orange/yellow. Sorry about that shroom. Your rod should be completed by 1/5/24! Exciting. @ShroomFishing

That one was a frigate , no 3 dots on belly flanks
We just bought my daughter one of those pink rods from Kmart that light up it's a Jarvis Walker one for like $20-$25 and I pulled a 2.3kg bream on it off our local wharf, almost broke my wrist when it hit the bait the bloody thing because the rod handle is so small.

iv only bought kmart rods 6000 reel 4 7 kg and line and evything from kmart so far been2 years with thier rods and 10/10 iv cought massive and alout of fish with thier rods
