Remember flying them from Melbourne in the 90’s before Emirates, Qatar etc were anything other than local carriers if that. Then Gulf seemed to get over taken by the richer oil states.

Oman air, Gulf air, and JAL have all shown how great this seat is! Any route that I take, I’ll be checking to see if these airlines serve them. Great job making a high capacity business class cabin, while still giving every seat direct isle access and privacy. Great trip report, keep it up!
From my experience gulf air is just amazing even tho I wasn’t in first class but was in the very first row right behind the first class it was such a pleasant experience, and very smooth landing I could barely feel like we hit the ground it was just so amazing and I miss it a lot 😩
The IFE looked a bit sluggish but a nice hard product and lovely looking food. I think I saw champagne amongst the pre departure drinks but not sure, are Gulf a dry airline?

Flew Gulf Air to Athens from Sydney years ago and they were very good. It was in an A330-400 from memory. Are they a dry airline as I didn't see any drinks menu as I would have loved a glass of red with the steak? Great review and I wish they still flew to Australia however with Etihad and Emirates having so many flights to Oz it would be a tough task to get a full plane though Turkish Airlines are looking to join Sydney and Melbourne to their direct flight list to Istanbul and beyond. Keep up the good work and loved your shoes!

No - they do serve alcohol but don’t ‘push’ it via menus as much as other airlines.

Are you sure it was an A330-'400'?
They do serve alcohol onboard but generally don’t have a special drinks menu. If you ask the crew you will be offered a good selection.
