      @@MARICARSTUDIO yes it sure was. It’s extremely hot in St. Lucia now so I did the photoshoot at sunset on the beach. I was sweating so bad had my makeup running down my face. My drive to the beach with the AC on cooled me down and also by then it was a lot cooler. The pictures came out amazing.

    It’s beautiful! I want to make a flying dress too, is one piece of 1.5m width 5m long fabric enough for the train? Can I use that single piece of fabric for the train?

    • @MARICARSTUDIO
      @MARICARSTUDIO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jade. Thank you for watching. Yes you can use the single 1.5m for the back skirt, however it's going to be a conservative train. Preferrably 2x of the 1.5m is ideal to have a big curvy train. Wish you best on your project.

    Hey there! You know how the flying dresses have the slit on the side? Is that created from the side seam?

    • @MARICARSTUDIO
      @MARICARSTUDIO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Milli, there is no seam for the slit. I just intentionally made a cut for the slit. I put the skirt on my whole body dressform, or yourself and measure from there how long is the slit. I mark it at the centerfront of the leg or closer to skirt sideseams.

  • @moniquerene1504
    @moniquerene1504 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So basically, if I want my train 5 yards long would need to get about 10 yards of fabric since the fabric is cut on fold? Did you fold on the longest side of the fabric? I currently have 5 yards of fabric

    • @MARICARSTUDIO
      @MARICARSTUDIO  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes that's correct. 10 yds just for the back skirt, plus you have to add about 2 to 4 yds for the top and front skirt depending on what style.

    • @moniquerene1504
      @moniquerene1504 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MARICARSTUDIO yes it came out lovely with the 5 yards I had for the back. The front took about 3-4 or more because I made a one arm with a balloon sleeve. The front top was pleated too. Because I know how to sew, make patterns and knew the terms you used. It helped me make my dress for my maternity shoot. I did not use satin tho. I don’t like the shine on the fabric. I asked the lady at the store and all she told me it was dress fabric but i it was light enough to do the flying dress effect I wanted.

    I wish you were more detailed on the train.

    • @MARICARSTUDIO
      @MARICARSTUDIO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nastasha. Thank you for watching. If you are asking about the length. The skirt is about 50inches waist to hem then the train is additional 4 yds. You can do 3yds up to 6yds. Depending how long you want it to be. All the best on your project 👍.

    I’m not being rude, but I look for a video like this about A year ago and didn’t find anything on a flyaway dress. I wish your video was a better informative. But you did a great job on the dress.

    I'm so confused on where to cut. Ugghhh it's like every video I watch... the most important part is cut out. Which sides, which seams, I have the fabric laid out and my scissors are not sure what to do. So I wont move to the next step because I'm afraid to make the wrong cut. 😢 😔

    • @MARICARSTUDIO
      @MARICARSTUDIO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. What I did especially with the back skirt, I lay flat 2 layers of fabric for the back pattern. I matched the selvages of the fabric so its straight and you save more time by stitching them together as is. I will make a half scale or 3/4 scale video tutorial with measurements for flying dress for my next project. Hope you will see it.

    • @TheBeautyBusNYC
      @TheBeautyBusNYC ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MARICARSTUDIO ok. I look forward to seeing that one. Thank you. 💙 is so scary to cut when the parts are not shown. I appreciate it 🙏🏾
