I went to van cleef in New York a few years ago with zero purchase history. They were super welcoming, showed me all the items I was interested in and then took me on a tour of the store which was fascinating since it's the flagship. I was very clear that I wasn't buying anything that day and it didn't bother them whatsoever. They even put a 100k watch on my wrist for the fun of it without me asking because they were super passionate about all the jewelry and the brand. It really contrasts with my experience at chanel where I was asked to pay at the back of the store twice (not sure if it had to do with the pandemic but I was not impressed). Also when I got home I realized one of the shoe boxes was ripped. I'm not saying I'll never shop at chanel again but I'll only buy if I really love the item because the experience around it is not something I enjoy. My opinion now is that true luxury is effortless. Exclusivity is linked to the finest materials and craftsmanship, not quotas.
100% agree with that statement. I don’t understand how luxury stores got to the conclusion that quotas make them exclusive. To me when I think of quotas, I think of being limited to buying two packs of toilet paper at Target during the pandemic 🤷🏻♀️

I am DONE with Chanel. I went to the HARRODS boutique today and it was dignity-stripping. While I was looking at the costume jewelry trays along with another lovely young Asian woman, she was taking some pictures for her friend. Then the SA suddenly raised her voice and yelled at her “I told you 3 times to not take pictures! Get out of the boutique, you’re not allowed to buy anything!!!”. That poor woman nearly started crying, didn’t understand English so well, asked “what?” and said sorry many times over again. I was paralyzed. I don’t care about their new nonsensical company policy, this is not how you enforce your stupid rules. Then I attempted to purchase the earrings I liked and I was NOT ALLOWED to purchase them. The SA told me that I had purchased two pairs in the last 2 months already (both of which were presents for my mom) and couldn’t buy any more costume jewelry. I was very startled and asked if there was any way I could still purchase it. I offered to do it through my mother’s account. Then the SA (which was a different one from the one who kicked the lady out) raised her voice at me, everyone stared, and yelled “DO YOU WANT ME TO BREAK CHANEL RULES FOR yOu?!”. I was absolutely appalled. I will never purchase from this brand EVER again. It used to be my favorite and my mother and I have spent 50.000£ on this brand over the years. I made an official complaint with HARRODS customer service and they will forward it to Chanel’s HARRODS manager. I’m not crawling on all fours and begging for anyone’s permission.
Omg that is unbelievable. I’m sorry you had to deal with this. No one should be treated this way. I understand that there are policies they have to follow, but the way they go about enforcing them is such bad customer service.

The lines outside the boutiques have been the norm in Australia for many many years and I always find it so weird. You're going to spend thousands of dollars but first you're going to wait outside as if you're in line for a free lunch or something. Not a very luxurious experience.
I would rather wait in line knowing the boutique will not be overwhelming/over crowded when I want to look around. I don’t want to be at boutiques waiting for a service like at a crowded bar waiting to be served. Also when I’m trying bags on, I tend to leave my bag on the counter and if the boutiques are crowded, I would not feel comfortable doing that.
Yea because of that I went To Dior instead the crowd was there too but Dior staff came out and thank us for waiting and if anyone wants cold bottle of water they were so nice and also o told the staff I’m just looking around for next bag and seen Caro and saddle I wanted saddle but they dun have the color I want regardless I thank them and walked out empty handed. Nevertheless it was still better experience than Chanel. Chanel is like Abercrombie and Fitch y’all they only wan you if you’re ‘cool’ ‘rich’ ‘pretty’ so they will make u buy more n more. I swore I was in Amsterdam waiting to get in I’m only 4 person behind to get in. And there comes a fat man with a kid telling the staff that his wife has appointment. She walked out of the car the latest and yes she looked down.. u better look down they the. Proceeded to be greeted warmly and off inside the store .
It never used to be like that in the 90's when those big brands first came to Australia, the stores used to be empty and the big names seemed to have little recognition. Now the marketing has changed and they now have mass appeal through the internet. You see....people are drawn by hype these days because true luxury has been forgotten, the new consumers of the last 40 years largely no longer knows what it is anymore since globalisation. Real luxury is hard to find, and much of it comes from names unknown to the public.
I am a guy, who happens to like shopping and gifting luxury marques for others. I have had similar experiences at a Chanel boutique, not just once either but several times. All in the past couple of years. Prior to that, I had what I would consider normal purchasing and shopping experiences at Chanel. I believe something has changed in this company's management and hence what they are instructing their employees to do, say, or ultimately how they behave. The manner in which Chanel and some of these other brands like Louis Vuitton or whatever attempt to portray themselves as "expensive" and "high dollar" is juvenile - akin to how stereotypical clique-ish teenage girls in high school might behave to attempt to exclude or belittle others. It's so silly and off-putting - for products that, I will be blunt - aren't even really that valuable or expensive. Expensive for a bag or jewelry maybe, but that's it. I am no stranger to shopping and doing business with a variety of higher end products in many industries not just "high end" fashion. Examples are cars, watches, food and wine, house builders, banking, etc.: Porsche, Omega, Napa Valley wineries, and on and on. I have walked into German and Italian auto and bike dealers whose products DWARF the cost and price of a handbag or pair of earrings or whatever. Yet, I was and am consistently treated very well - even if they knew from the beginning that I had no intention of making a purchase that day. They would literally hand me the keys and told me to take a spin on my own and enjoy driving and experiencing their products. Why? Because they and their management understood basic customer service and long-term business strategy. They understand word of mouth and reputation, and selling the luxury experience of doing business with them. Honestly the fashion industry is a bit of joke.
I will no longer be buying anymore Chanel. Keeping what I have and that’s it for me. Prices are now way too high, quality is worse than ever, and customer service is horrible. Would rather put my hard earned money elsewhere.
Agree. Visited Chanel boutique in Rome, the customer service was not great at all😔 would like to buy a bag but do not want to get such a “great” service.
Totally agree. The Chanel sales associates act as though they’re doing you a huge favor to show you an item. Even the Madison Ave. flagship has this snobbish attitude.
I’m very turned off by chanel. A few years ago I went in with the intention of buying three big items (myself, mother in law and for my mother). They were so rude to me I crossed over and went to Louis Vuitton, I had 0 history and was offered drinks, biscuits and amazing service!
Strangely enough, my experience at my local Chanel was lovely. It wasn't the best but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't buy anything too and was very clear that I wanted to try on some bags before deciding on a purchase. My worst experience was at Dior just across from the Chanel store when I walked in to see a black Lady Dior and was very keen on purchasing it. They only had the seasonal bags displayed on shelves, so I asked the SA whether they had any in stock. He said yes they did, but only in the back in the stock room. I asked whether he could take it out for me to see because I was very keen. He said, "no, we don't usually take out the bags to show customers, but you can see it on your phone." And he pulled out his phone and showed me the Dior website. I was floored, like obviously I knew I could see it on the website but the colours of certain bags (like the blush pink) are different on the website vs in person, and I believe that if you want to make an expensive purchase like that (let's be honest, none of these bags are worth their inflated price tags), you have to try it on. I'd rather go on the resale market where the value of Dior bags drops like a stone and the consignment stores and resellers have much better customer service. My best experience was at Tiffany & Co. where our SA let me try all the crazy expensive diamond jewellery, including a huge diamond-encrusted ring which cost like 300k, when we were just in there to get a modest 10k wedding ring. Now, I never buy jewellery from anywhere except from that SA, and if she's not working, I'm not entering the store. I think that's what luxury should be - the best customer service money can buy, and then some.
Oh wow that SA was so rude. I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Why bother going to the boutique if you can’t even see the bag in person. Might as well just order it online. My Dior SA would let me try on the same bag in every single color if I asked. The jewelry boutiques seem to care more about maintaining client relationships and it reflects in the service. I don’t think I’ve met a bad SA at Tiffany, Cartier, VCA etc but I do think their logistics can be improved. Just this past Sunday I had to wait 45 minutes after arriving for my servicing appointment at VCA because they helped someone who came after me first because no single person knew the order of the appointments.
That Dior sounds ridiculous. What is the point of having bags in a store and telling you they have the bag, but not let you see or try in person? I have hits and misses at Chanel, but I recall I made it clear I just want to try on the coco handle but I don’t see it on display in store and an SA went to the back room to take one brand new one out which is supposedly on reserve to let me try it on. I personally didn’t have a good experience at. Dior boutique either. An SA rolled her eyes at me when I asked to try on earrings and she walked away and left me at the counter after she took out the earrings.
I agree with you that it’s losing the luxurious feeling. I find it odd at how difficult places are making it for us to spend thousands with them. Between all of this, the increase in prices, and the decrease in quality, I have significantly slowed down on buying from any luxury brand.
Wow so many horrendous stories. This is so disturbing to hear. So people save and then go in to spend their hard earned money just to be treated poorly ignored. Are they intentionally trying to make people feel awkward while shopping. One lady even said that a SA rolled her eyes at her..Like,Wow!
It's like a toxic relationship with a bad boyfriend that you don't end. I think maybe it's psychology where someone tells you no, and in doing so, makes you want it even more. 🤔
I think the new restrictions do give into the allure of luxury. The availability and access go down and now only certain people can secure a bag. This adds to the exclusivity which drives demand.
I get what you’re saying but I think there’s a fine line between keeping it alluring and alienating customers and I feel like Chanel is alienating customers with how they’re going about maintaining exclusivity.
my spring in the city experience was kinda weird. i guess its more like the timing. i went to lv store around 5 pm to look at the spring in the city collection and the item or piece that i want was available. 3 weeks after that purchase i had to come back because the bag had a defect... 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ then i requested a repair but apparently the manager said that he will exchange the bag for a brand new one since the bag that i bought i was only 3 weeks old and that defect should't be happening. going to these luxury houses feels like going to regular chain stores or fast fashion stores.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC he tried to low key say that the defect happened due to rubbing against my denim jeans and i was like hmmm i still wanted it repaired regardless of what they say lol
I did have a similar experience with the first SA from Chanel in 2018. Then, she was so friendly when I bought a few things from her. But when I didn't buy anything for a while, she pawned me off to a different SA. I'm on my 6th Chanel SA by now. I'm not concerned because I don't know if I'll ever buy anymore Chanel. I'm pretty satisficed with what I have from them. LOVE your bracelet. I found myself looking at it a lot! :-) OH!!! I'm so glad everything went well with Fendi.
Haha I kept noticing the bracelet when I was editing this video too. It’s the Bulgari bracelet I got recently and it’s so beautiful even when worn alone 😄
I agree with the limit on classic bags to prevent people from buying and selling them online but the going into the store thing is the worst. As someone who doesn't live in a state with a Chanel boutique or Neman's or Saks I have no way to purchase any longer.
I live near the Short Hills Mall in NJ and the Chanel boutique is sooo bare and the SA said they haven’t even seen the classic espadrilles in stock for over six months so I bought myself a pair of Gucci aces instead 🤷🏻♀️ Why would I chase Chanel items if there aren’t even any available to buy?
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC i also stopped by the boutique in Neiman Marcus. They had like, one random blue backpack? So empty and bare. Regardless, I’m glad I didn’t get my first Chanel piece. I was going to purchase a pre loved piece but decided to put that money towards a future down payment!
Ooh much better use of money! 👍🏻 I’ve been to the one at Neiman Marcus too and I just walked in and right back out because I could see everything (or lack of anything) in a glance 😂
Haha I can’t believe I never thought of that. I used to always stop by Forty Carrots when I was in the Bloomingdale’s on 59th St in Manhattan. I usually park by the Nordstrom/Neiman Marcus at Short Hills so I never walk towards the direction of Bloomingdale’s. I’ll have to park there instead next time.
I feel so done with trying to buy a Chanel bag from a boutique due to the awful customer service. I feel like I'm just going to have to get one going the pre-loved route. After I watched your video on the reissue mini vs. small, I went to two boutiques looking for it and neither had it (so they say). It would be my first Chanel bag so I don't have an SA or buying history. First time, I was followed around by security and no one talked to me for 20 minutes, and it was only because security finally paged someone. Second time, they spoke to me so condescendingly and told me I could try lining up like everyone else on launch day. I told them that I would not be lining up. They took my name and number on a scrap piece of paper, so I don't expect any call from them at all. They probably threw it away. When I go into other boutiques, specifically Dior and Celine, they are super nice and helpful. I would rather buy from nice people to be honest. I still really want the reissue just because I love the history of the bag, but I'm probably not going to be able to get it any time soon :(.
Aww sorry you had such bad experiences there 😞 I don’t think the reissue sells out that fast right after the launch of a new collection so maybe you could try when the hype calms down a little if you’re still interested. But at the same time I understand why you wouldn’t want to bother anymore.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC I don’t know what it is with the SAs! I’m not sure why they feel like they can be so rude. I’ll be in France next month so maybe I’ll try there instead 🤷🏻♀️.
Carol. I love Chanel, but I was at a boutique at Neiman Marcus at King of Prussia mall. My husband and I overheard a Chanel salesperson discussing how African Americans and Music culture has taken away the luxury when brought and used.
Really good sharing. Yea, they’ve lost that luxury touch. Not just one brand but quite a few brands. It’s queues and the expectation of the SA for you to buy something with the 10 minutes allocated 😅 🛍🛍🛍
I have 3 Chanel SA at different locations just in case one store doesn’t have any. I try my best to be fair and divide purchases between them obviously with new guidelines bags are out of the question diving them between them 😂I just hate having to Chase to get something so if they don’t offer or I ask and they don’t have then I usually forget about it. There’s other designer brands out there willing to give you the full 5 stat experience without being considered VIC!
My 2 yr. old 2.55 classic bag hardware already shows wear and I rarely use it. It's where you turn the knob to close the bag. I was devastated to see the wear and tear. So, yeah, no more Chanel.
I find that annoying because most people don’t buy Chanel on a monthly basis and it just frustrates me how I would go into a Chanel store and nothing is in stock when most of the items are already reserved for top tier customers. In the past I was able to purchase items if they are in stock. Yes some items were still wait listed back then, but it kind of turns me off these days that I would have to line up or feel ignored when I don’t have a regular SA. I shouldn’t have to spend my hard earned money on things I don’t want to buy just to get that one thing I want.
I agree with your comments about luxury shopping. The service and the price increases have been a turn off for me. I keep looking at your bracelet. It looks very nice on your wrist. Is it the one you bought for your birthday.
Carol, I wanted to ask you, how do you get to style your fun color bags and at the same time you keep it elegant and stylish? I want to get more into the fun colors purses, but I am scared I won't be able to style them like you do. 😅🙂
Aww thanks for the compliment! ❤️ I try to stick to silhouettes for clothing that work for me and keep the colors fairly simple…so instead of throwing a bunch of bold colors together, I try to stick to similar shades and mix in some neutrals to tie it all together. The only patterns I really wear are either floral or plaid but I find those patterns work in an array of colors. Hope this helps! 😊
I'm surprised this is news to you guys. In Sydney Australia it's been like this for past few years. They never accept reservations, never will ship things to you. When they package your goods they take away all the tags. There's no such as purchasing through the website. The only way to buy anything is to keep going in and ask. Or if your SA has something they will call you and you have to run to the stores asap for it. I was even told by staff from Sydney flagship store that they will call everyone who's asked them for certain items if that certain item comes in and if customers don't pick up they will text. Then it's first come first serve. So whoever replies first and can get to the store first will have it. There's practically 0 service. There's 3 stores in Sydney and was told the same thing that there's no reservations, can't put name down for anything. Can't reserve for unreleased future collection. I've contacted the online customer service team and they tell me the same thing. We can just check what's available in each boutique.
That is horrible! The demand is so high in Australia that they don’t even have to try to get sales. My SA used to give me until end of day to decide if I wanted an item or not but I know some others only give 30 minutes from when they text you. The whole process seems more in line with what you’d expect from a bargain dollar store than a luxury boutique.
Ratio of bad to good SA is too high at Chanel. LV is slightly better. They’re all very transactional (and short term focused) even though they expect the customer to be loyal.
The chanel vip boutiques are for their super rich clients, basically some of their clients have complained about shopping not being luxurious especaully when the store are crowded. Basically the vip's are tired of shopping with those less rich than themselves and Chanel cares about the super rich not the ones who have to save and only buy handbags. Chanel want customers who buy haute couture, high jewelry ready to wear the bags are not important to their bottom line.
Almost every luxury store uses the online queuing system now.. Chanel Dior Cartier etc.. I really don't like it either. If you have no appointment with SA, the waiting time is usually 30 minutes to even up to 2 hours 🙄😕 I have no time all day to wait! Not like it's on sale or items are readily available too. I am definitely taking a break from the brands
Shopping for luxury items should be relaxing, therapeutic and enjoyable. listening to your experience, I feel these fashion houses are not worth their exclusivity and $$. Sorry for your awful experience.
I’m lucky to never have experience bad customer service in chanel. My SA there is lovely. I’ve been with him since i started buying chanel. Lv on the other hand I had 2 bad experience with different SA. I don’t really shop there anymore though.
They just don’t care about the average consumer. They only want to cater to the extremely wealthy. I think it will take a significant loss in sales for them to wake up. Sorry all of that happened to you.
Thanks! I’m much less upset about those situations now compared to when they first happened. I’m waiting for that drop in sales to happen but maybe I’m just being optimistic 😅
Carol, your bracelet was totally distracting me. LOL GORGEOUS!!!! I’m so bummed about Chanel’s new policy regarding remote ordering. I have a great relationship with the SA I use for remote ordering. I don’t know what I will do now. The closest boutique to me is almost 4 hours away.
Haha I kept getting distracted by it while editing this video too 😂 Very beautiful in real life too 😊 So unfortunate that they’re going to stop allowing remote orders. Maybe they’ll realize how bad that idea is in a few months and backtrack.
Ooh what’s on your wishlist? I have a small classic flap and mini on my wishlist but I’m not about to jump through hoops for them. I kind of want some fine jewelry from them too but I’ll have to think about those further.
Carol, I have a medium classic flap and perhaps even a jumbo. I have several pieces of their fine jewelry and would love to add more. Yep, definitely way late to the game. 😂
Oh which fine jewelry pieces do you have? I only have a coco crush ring right now but I want another one plus a pair of camellia earrings. And there’s a ring that seems like a Japan or Asia exclusive that I’ve been eyeing so maybe if I’m ever there I’ll get it.
Post Covid, in store luxury purchase experience is the worst. I rather buy online. The lines to limit entrance is comical. I used to love LV, no longer care to shop there anymore, used to love Tiffany, SA is meh, no longer care for that brand too. Cartier stores experience still ok, depending on store staff.
I find the jewelry boutiques still provide pretty good service. But I don’t even bother with LV boutiques since shopping on their website is so much better. I went there over two hours before closing once and they stopped taking any more names for their queue already.
I hate to say this but i am happy about the new chanel system because i feel it will give anyone who would like to make a purchase a chance to make a purchase without worrying about annoying resellers and items being out of stock the day its released. Just my opinion
I’m not sure this will make people buy more of their clothes though. Also, the times I’ve asked if certain pieces of ready to wear were in stock, the answer was always no.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC it would have made her sh*t her pants, so, it would have been worth it definitely. Pardon my french... Sometimes you can wait and hope for karma, other times you can make karma happen yourself... :))
I love chanel, but the old one chanel paris vibes , the quality, 24k gold , it was the gold era of chanel …for me …i dont like the new chanel bags, the colors, puffiness… i love my vintage classic black 24k gold baby 🖤 it is from 1986 and looking like new… vintage is quality 🖤🖤🖤
It seems like different batches of lambskin at Chanel all feel and look different. There are definitely some that are much nicer than others. I think if you can find a good one then yes it’s worth it but otherwise it’s not.
I just found and watched this video now because I am researching how to go to a Chanel boutique for the first time. There is literally a Chanel boutique 3 blocks from my home or a 5 minute walk, and I'm scared to walk in there because I keep hearing how horrible they are! I don't want my first Chanel boutique experience to be tainted by rude SAs! Trying to figure out how to dress and which bag to carry to go in so I'm not treated badly. Now that's NOT a luxurious experience! I have noticed I enjoy going to the LV in Saks rather than the standalone LV boutique a few blocks away from me though. They are so much nicer! So maybe I'll find a Neiman's with a Chanel to go to instead of crossing the street and going to the standalone boutique 5 minutes away. I need to see caviar vs. lambskin in person though and how long the chain is on a WOC so can't avoid this scary experience. Ugh.
Yeah in my experience the SAs inside the department store Chanels are friendlier but you don’t have to buy from the rude ones if you come across someone like that. Don’t let a rude SA ruin your experience there and you shouldn’t feel the need to impress them with your outfit. I feel like the mean ones will be that way no matter what unfortunately. But if you rather try on the bags without feeling like you’re being judged, are there any resale/consignment shops by you that you can stop by? Even if you don’t intend on buying preloved you can confirm your choice there first and then go to Chanel when you know exactly what you want.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC good idea! We don’t have resale shops in DC, but I’ve seen them back home in Los Angeles when I visit my family. I tend to do my luxury shopping there since it’s easier with a lot more options of locations. Just bought a Loewe bag I was finally able to see in person there. Should just bite the bullet and go to Chanel during business hours during the work week when no one else will likely be there and am not competing with the weekend crowd. Sad that I feel this dread before going to a luxury store! I agree with you about preferring to purchase online if possible and tend to do that more with LV.
It sucks that Chanel doesn’t sell any of their bags online. Even if they don’t sell their classics online, at least having some styles be available would be good especially so people who don’t live near a boutique can still make purchases. I really don’t understand some of these companies’ business strategies sometimes. I’m curious what Loewe bag you got. Was it the Puzzle?
@CAROL CHAN I guess Chanel is trying to be too exclusive and snooty :) Even Hermes seems more approachable in some ways to me than Chanel. I'd much prefer to walk into an Hermes store than a Chanel one! Yes, I bought the Loewe puzzle! I tend to like classic pieces with a twist though so I would prefer to buy a Chanel seasonal piece that not many will have since they are limited or a color that most people wouldn't buy. So I bought the puzzle in the mini size in the color orange for a small pop of color--not too overwhelming but not the standard tan color in size small like most people get that blends more into the crowd. My perfect classic with a bit of an edge style as I once heard a celebrity define it :)

Totally agree especially the part about the worsening customer service.
Agree. Visited Chanel boutique in Rome, the customer service was not great at all😔 would like to buy a bag but do not want to get such a “great” service.
Use it to experience life like traveling
Totally agree. The Chanel sales associates act as though they’re doing you a huge favor to show you an item. Even the Madison Ave. flagship has this snobbish attitude.
🙌 well said
I’m very turned off by chanel. A few years ago I went in with the intention of buying three big items (myself, mother in law and for my mother). They were so rude to me I crossed over and went to Louis Vuitton, I had 0 history and was offered drinks, biscuits and amazing service!
Sorry you had such a bad experience there 😞 That’s unacceptable!
So many times i got disgusted by chanel, when i shop at fendi, dior, Cartier i truly feel the lux experience…
I agree with you that it’s losing the luxurious feeling. I find it odd at how difficult places are making it for us to spend thousands with them. Between all of this, the increase in prices, and the decrease in quality, I have significantly slowed down on buying from any luxury brand.
The customer service aspect is so important and I feel like that has taken a nosedive more than even the quality has.
Target order pick up should be the gold standard for luxury stores 😂 I love target
One can dream 🤣🤣🤣
I think the new restrictions do give into the allure of luxury. The availability and access go down and now only certain people can secure a bag. This adds to the exclusivity which drives demand.
I get what you’re saying but I think there’s a fine line between keeping it alluring and alienating customers and I feel like Chanel is alienating customers with how they’re going about maintaining exclusivity.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC I understand your point.
my spring in the city experience was kinda weird. i guess its more like the timing. i went to lv store around 5 pm to look at the spring in the city collection and the item or piece that i want was available.
Oh wow at least they agreed to exchange it for you. I’m somewhat surprised they didn’t try to shrug off the defect as normal wear and tear.
I feel like I'm being pushed away when shopping luxury, not welcomed at all
I agree with the limit on classic bags to prevent people from buying and selling them online but the going into the store thing is the worst. As someone who doesn't live in a state with a Chanel boutique or Neman's or Saks I have no way to purchase any longer.
Ahh so sorry to hear that 😞
I live near the Short Hills Mall in NJ and the Chanel boutique is sooo bare and the SA said they haven’t even seen the classic espadrilles in stock for over six months so I bought myself a pair of Gucci aces instead 🤷🏻♀️ Why would I chase Chanel items if there aren’t even any available to buy?
That’s the one I go to also and the shelves are so sad looking all the time. There’s no point in even making time to go there.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC and then you can head on over to forty carrots in Bloomingdales and get frozen yogurt happily instead 🤭 that’s what we do.
Ooh maybe 22B will launch while you’re there. I think that collection is going to have some great colors. There’s so many that I’m eyeing myself 😆
Carol. I love Chanel, but I was at a boutique at Neiman Marcus at King of Prussia mall. My husband and I overheard a Chanel salesperson discussing how African Americans and Music culture has taken away the luxury when brought and used.
😲🤯 wow that is not okay. That type of snobbish behavior is what is actually doing harm to Chanel as a brand 😡
Afro Americans or simply Americans*
Really good sharing. Yea, they’ve lost that luxury touch. Not just one brand but quite a few brands. It’s queues and the expectation of the SA for you to buy something with the 10 minutes allocated 😅 🛍🛍🛍
Haha yeah a lot of them are very pushy.
Exactly! I'm not willing to put in so much work just to spend money.
My 2 yr. old 2.55 classic bag hardware already shows wear and I rarely use it. It's where you turn the knob to close the bag. I was devastated to see the wear and tear. So, yeah, no more Chanel.
Oh no 😞 Is it on the hardware?
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Yes, but at least it's on the inside, you can't see it when you close the bag that is.
So curious now that I might have to stop by my Chanel to see
I find that annoying because most people don’t buy Chanel on a monthly basis and it just frustrates me how I would go into a Chanel store and nothing is in stock when most of the items are already reserved for top tier customers.
Yeah I agree. That's why I would never play that Hermes game even if I liked their items - the whole idea of it is so wrong.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Hermes customer service is questionable too lol. So many horror stories
I agree with your comments about luxury shopping. The service and the price increases have been a turn off for me.
I keep looking at your bracelet. It looks very nice on your wrist. Is it the one you bought for your birthday.
Thanks! Yes it’s the Bvlgari Serpenti bracelet I bought recently 😊
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC thank you very much for the tips Carol and for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it !!😀😃
I'm surprised this is news to you guys.
Right?! And the company wants to only cater to the wealthy. That and the way SAs are treating clients just don’t align.
Just leaving this here.
Almost all Luxury Brands are own by the buisness that started Louis Vuitton.
Exactly! Why would I wait on line for hours just to spend 5 minutes in the store and leave once they tell me nothing is in stock.
Shopping for luxury items should be relaxing, therapeutic and enjoyable. listening to your experience, I feel these fashion houses are not worth their exclusivity and $$. Sorry for your awful experience.
queeeeeen you dont deserve that bad treatment ❤️🤯
I’m lucky to never have experience bad customer service in chanel. My SA there is lovely. I’ve been with him since i started buying chanel. Lv on the other hand I had 2 bad experience with different SA. I don’t really shop there anymore though.
You’re so lucky. I’ve had some amazing SAs at Chanel before but they all left.
Haha I kept getting distracted by it while editing this video too 😂 Very beautiful in real life too 😊
So unfortunate that they’re going to stop allowing remote orders. Maybe they’ll realize how bad that idea is in a few months and backtrack.
Carol, I hope so. I’m relatively new to the world of Chanel so I still have quite a bit on my wish list.
Loooove your channel Carol
Thank you so much Zoe!!! 🥰❤️🤗
I feel like your brain works very similar to mine😊, at least regarding luxury shopping.
I hate to say this but i am happy about the new chanel system because i feel it will give anyone who would like to make a purchase a chance to make a purchase without worrying about annoying resellers and items being out of stock the day its released. Just my opinion
i guess Chanel is putting these new rules because customers are most likely lining only for the bags and not for the clothes.
I’m not sure this will make people buy more of their clothes though. Also, the times I’ve asked if certain pieces of ready to wear were in stock, the answer was always no.
Too many SAs are too shortsighted. They are only interested in immediate sales, not build long term relationship with customers.
I agree with you 100%
You should have DEMANDED to talk to the manager. This is unacceptable.
Haha I figured that wouldn’t change anything so I didn’t bother wasting more of my time there.
Oh wow it’s close to 40 years old! Amazing!
Yes, like me 😉 …in two weeks …i really wanted one chanel bag thats from 1982, but its ok :D i have my 2 LV from 1982 ….
Happy early birthday! 🎂🥳
Thank you very much sweetheart ❤️
Is anybody forced to buy their goods? No so no reason to be bothered
hi Carol can I ask do you recommend chanel lambskin bag ? I'm never buy lambskin before .thanks
It seems like different batches of lambskin at Chanel all feel and look different. There are definitely some that are much nicer than others. I think if you can find a good one then yes it’s worth it but otherwise it’s not.
Well I’d rather go look at products then purchase online ,saving headache of dealing with dumb jealous SA
My perfect classic with a bit of an edge style as I once heard a celebrity define it :)
could you talk more slow it too fast
Sorry ti say it only really four the subber rich and not people like you
