Really glad to hear this video helped out. I'm stoked that you are teaching your God son to fish. We need more kids enjoying the outdoors. Good Luck out there!
This was very concise. So many videos had me thinking I forgot every single thing my Uncles taught me. I came across your video and it was refreshing. Thanks a bunch. It has been YEARS since I used one. I wanted to teach my husband since he never used a spinning rod and completely forgot. 😅
Wow! I love this! Thabks for the tip. Was not aware of the knob on top. Thought u need it loose. No wonder why my bait always get eating without me knowing! Thank you!!!
Well, that is stumping me! Only thing I can think of is...if you have a new reel or a newly spoiled reel, the line could be on so tight that it's caught on itself and isn't releasing from the spool. If that doesn't do it, I'd recommend taking it down to your local tackle shop or a Bass Pro / Cabelas and have them take a look at it. Thanks for watching and your feedback. Good luck!
Hello @tre8906, in my experience, I've had new line do that right after putting it on, or sometimes on a new reel that came with line on it. Because line is on a spool when new, it has its own twist to it and has to be put on a certain way. There are line spooling guides you can buy to make it a bit easier. You can also have your rods respooled at Bass Pro or Cabelas. You might want to start with some TH-cam videos though. I've not made one of those yet. Hope that helps...thanks for watching!
It isn't. It just depends on how you prefer to close it. I've done it manually and by reeling it at different times along my fishing journey. Thanks for watching!
Don’t worry this is only a problem if you’re casting long distances with heavy lures and braided line. If you’re casting small lures with mono this shouldn’t be a problem ever and if you have your drag correctly set then you definitely don’t have to worry
@srgarijo you'll want to set your drag to the optimal tension before casting. It'll take some practice to get the "feel" of it. The drag setting will depend on your tackle a bit, but mostly depend on the size of fish your after. Thanks for watching!
Hi @jansan1925 the bail closes automatically when you start cranking the reel. You can also close it by hand before you start cranking. I do both myself at different times. Thanks for watching!

You didn't explain what you're doing with your index finger.
Tell them to let go with your finger. It sounds stupid , but? Great video it will help a lot of people.
Thanks man, I grew up without a dad and I'm trying to teach my god son how to do this but i barely know how to do this i was struggling so bad

Oooooooooooooohhhhh
Oh Yeah!!
Me too 😅
Thank you
You're welcome
But sometimes when you reel
In it gets tangled
Always a possibility. I appreciate you checking out the video!
Yeah!!!!!! I was a fishing specialist at a camp this summer, your video changed the lives of millions of people!!!!
I did all of that correctly, grabbed the line, switched the thing and threw out while I let go of the line and it didn’t cast out
Well, that is stumping me! Only thing I can think of is...if you have a new reel or a newly spoiled reel, the line could be on so tight that it's caught on itself and isn't releasing from the spool. I’m very beginner why does the line come off when I flip the bail
Hello @tre8906, in my experience, I've had new line do that right after putting it on, or sometimes on a new reel that came with line on it. Is it harmful to your reel if you spin it to close the bale?
It isn't. It just depends on how you prefer to close it. I've done it manually and by reeling it at different times along my fishing journey. Thanks for watching!
I'm scared that my fingers gonna get Hurt by the fish line while throwing
With a little practice, you'll be able to let go of the line, right as you cast and not have the line put any pressure on your finger. Good Luck!
Don’t worry this is only a problem if you’re casting long distances with heavy lures and braided line. If you’re casting small lures with mono this shouldn’t be a problem ever and if you have your drag correctly set then you definitely don’t have to worry
Thanks for the video! Just a question, are you supposed to loosen the drag before casting and tighten it when it's casted?
@srgarijo you'll want to set your drag to the optimal tension before casting. It'll take some practice to get the "feel" of it. The drag setting will depend on your tackle a bit, but mostly depend on the size of fish your after. Thanks for watching!
@@blittlefishing9468 thanks for the advice!!!
And Brian did not catch A fish on that cast.
That's why they call it fishing and not catching 😉 that's what I always tell my boys when we get skunked on a fishing trip!
Thanks. So does yhe bail stay up or so you fold it back down after you cast ...or when you reel it in?
Hi @jansan1925 the bail closes automatically when you start cranking the reel. You can also close it by hand before you start cranking. I do both myself at different times. Thanks for watching!
