I've needed something like this for a long time.
Finally! Guild Wars 2 & ESO (i main GW2. LOTRO is my secondary game) has a good downscaling system & it works ever so well IMO. It's beneficial for both parties (friend who's a low level whereas the other player has a high level char) this is only going to mean great things for the game.
EQ2 has the best downscaling system by far.

I know another game, SWTOR, went through this. This is cool :) the one annoying thing with SWTOR was that it forced you down to that level of that planet no matter if you were the highest level or the right level. It was more difficult if you didn't have the right gear for that level. It'll be interesting to see how LOTRO would take this.
This will be an optional one. So it will not force you to. I think since lotro is doing this later. They will make it very nice!

still not playing until they fix UI for resolutions above 1080
UI works for 2k, no problem. It can get blurry if 4k, etc. I would recommend my guide on best UI settings to make the game look good. The general settings will not look aa good if it auto applies
@@VoiceoftheRings the complaint is it's too small, not blurry, the inventory and some other menus can't be increased in ui scale setting

Ummm... you know originally you have to go and earn your mount. Do you know how? It's up in North Bree fields. The only reason they made some mounts you can buy was for cosmetic reasons... and convince of if you don't want to do the gameplay you can buy the riding skill etc. But the riding skill is dirt cheap. You don't have to pay real money. Do like 3 deeds and you will have the lotro points to buy it
@@VoiceoftheRings Basic riding skill is free for everyone since the Before the Shadow expansion was released. Any character who doesn’t have it can either get it during their introductory experience or in the blacksmith shop in the town of Mossward in the region of Swanfleet. Just do the quest A Little Extra… and you’ll get both the riding skill and a free (albeit slow) mount. You can buy faster mounts for nothing but game gold or earn them in many different ways by engaging in normal game activities including Deeds and the seasonal festivals.

Seems like a huge waste of time when there are plenty other things already in the game that require attention
I will say being able to at our choice, lower our character level when entering an old instance, then use old set bonuses and gear, would be pretty nice but, almost all of the other stuff isn’t really necessary. If they fixed the lag alone, the game would be 100x better.
This is something that many other mmos have. It is also something many people have wanted a very long time. I think it's a good time for it. I think the next thing will be UI they want to work on. Will see.

I've been researching LotRO because I am thinking about playing it. There are identical posts about lag from many years ago.

This makes it very difficult to pull the trigger and commit to spending time on LotRO.
@@VoiceoftheRings yeah idk man played the game since launch, never seen 1 person ask for that. I have seen them, and most of the endgame raid kins on multiple servers ask for many things that the Lotro dev team still years later never delivered on, 1st priority being lag so people can actually play the game without wiping to lag spikes. It’s been an issue since 85, and MT/the Throne raid was horrific. I’ve seen multiple kin’s lose members due to this shit, so it’s super strange they won’t fix it.
