I don't know how they ever could. What was cutting edge then is either commonplace now or severely outdated. Technology advances at such a rate that from the time a tour starts and finishes, something new can get left behind pretty fast. It would be virtually impossible to replicate anything like it again, which is what made it so special.
FYI: This originally aired on a show called "The New Music" in Canada, on City TV/Muchmusic, early 90s. I know because I used to have this recorded on VHS!
As Edge said ZooTV was about taking all the different multi-media platforms ie TV, laser disk, CD palyers and putting them into one presentation. Bono was right when he said it was a look to the future as all these media standards and devices would amalgamated into one source, the internet.
the best of the best...of corse bono and u2...i love this band almost 23 years,,im 34 now,,,im a boy when i listening this u2 band..zoo tv change my life....love u2 ever from Portugal..paul
@MegaTrainspotter This is Leg 5 of Zoo TV Tour called "Zoomerang/New Zooland) ending in Tokyo Dec. 9th. & 10th. I'm guessing this interview is done on the 11th. Dec. 1993.
@@theorthianguy Yes, def something like this. Although I'm pretty sure he's got gel in his hair (not mousse), and that would have the same effect you mentioned.
@@jasonlefler3456 Hi there. Thanks but this version isn't the one featured on this MuchMusic episode. I just wanted to hear this particular version of Ultraviolet( the one on the MuchMusic broadcast above).
@@SXI96 No, it’s just your own personal view of reality that defines it. For eg. your dock doesn’t get hard now, you are overweight and bald, and now it is not ok that you are living in your moms basement. Your life has got worse, not the worlds!
I saw them in Tokyo Dome two nights in a row. Madonna was in Tokyo that she was an audience. That brings back memories.
Zoo TV was so ahead of its time and Bono is the best frontman ever. I wish U2 tried to do something like that again!

This was around 1993/94, right before the internet became readily available in people's homes
I saw them back in 92 and Public Enemy opened for them.
Manchester GMEX? I was there too!

thx for uploading this dude !
8:11 Nirvana diss LOL
Amazing how bonos hair got thicker as he got older.
It's the mousse he's got in, it holds the hair together and then you see his scalp.

I wish I could find this Tokyo concert.
I wish I could find this Tokyo bootleg. This Ultraviolet version is different for sure.

Virgil Nanaquewitung Youre right.
I spaced that this might be the version...

Virgil Nanaquewitung Maybe not though.
This is not a single performance of Ultra Violet - it's a mixture of clips from Turin and both Bologna shows.
zoo tv ended..then zooropa began.
They were part of the same tour
Has music ever had a greater gift than BONO?
crashj71 Yes
yes Edge👍
crashj71 Err yes, lots.
It gets destroyed in explaining...
4 tape machines and 11 laserdisc players...... Oh the 90's.....
Nathan Gebele
The 90's were superior to current times despite the old technology, life was good and the world was more stable

@@SXI96 Maybe not the choicest words but the core message is the truth. You are angry because you know I’m right.
@@virnan Your life must be pretty bad to write an idiotic comment like that. That's the core truth.
