Visited my very law abiding, good friend in NY back in 2021. Paid every subway fair but didn’t pay bus fair once. He literally thought it was optional LOL 😂
Having grown up in Chicago, I can tell you exactly where this leads. -Bus service is cut to areas farthest from the city, which are typically low-income areas were residents heavily rely on public transportation. -Residents in those areas face employment disparity because they cannot travel to higher paying jobs. -Those areas see an increase in foreclosures and an increase in renters, leader to further economic strain -This leads to increases in parent absenteeism, which leads to neighborhood decline and higher crime -Parent absenteeism and higher crime leads to moral decay and social animosity -The crime and moral decay eventually bleed out of specific neighborhoods and into more affluent areas -In a city already struggling with crime, you begin to see "packs" of youth roaming the streets, looking for victims on whom they express their anger and animosity.
, then people like Big Mikey obammy will say there are public transportation desserts. An example would be like when the local super Walmart leaves an area ( bad neighborhoods) because of constant shoplifting. It's out of that same marxist playbook. Those types of politicians will go on about the only reason it's happening is because of White supremacy b.s.

Citizens already pay property taxes in cities, for infrastructure. Paying for public facilities, then being charged for usage is assinine, but has become normalized due to corporate funding by citizen governments.

Fare evasion is a big problem in Toronto where I live. Especially on the street cars. You’ll often see transit officers wearing “fare enforcement” but when they board the bus/streetcar, they’ll announce their presence and intention to check fares. Then they wait 1-2 stops before proceeding. Anyone who’s skipped their fare has already gotten off and jumped on the next bus

I work downtown in a different state. When my car broke I had to take the bus for a few weeks, and my transfer spot was one of the worst in the city. People have absolutely zero shame. They just walk right in and past the driver like it's nothing, and not like the bus drivers can do much about it. They obviously can't touch anyone, and if they play the "Im not driving until you leave" game then innocent people are affected. I can't even imagine NYC.
Yes, and it works (usually) at least in the UK. It pisses paying customers off and they get pissed off at the fare evaders, usually it doesn't get to that point.
Yeah Man. I'm in Portland Oregon and when they defunded the police, people just started riding for free. Just to get bus drivers and train operators they had to offer an $11,000 sign on bonus because of all the violence and BS the drivers and operators had to put up with.

-Those areas see an increase in foreclosures and an increase in renters, leader to further economic strain
-This leads to increases in parent absenteeism, which leads to neighborhood decline and higher crime
-Parent absenteeism and higher crime leads to moral decay and social animosity
-The crime and moral decay eventually bleed out of specific neighborhoods and into more affluent areas
-In a city already struggling with crime, you begin to see "packs" of youth roaming the streets, looking for victims on whom they express their anger and animosity.
, then people like Big Mikey obammy will say there are public transportation desserts. An example would be like when the local super Walmart leaves an area ( bad neighborhoods) because of constant shoplifting. It's out of that same marxist playbook. Those types of politicians will go on about the only reason it's happening is because of White supremacy b.s.
Not anyone else's problem. If new york would actually keep people in jail that stole upwards of a thousand dollars, Maybe people would take the risk of a fine more seriously.

It's weird how someone can steal up to $1000 from a private company with no problem but steel $2 from the city and they want to do something.
The difference between state and FEDERAL.....ILLEGALS are Biden/Harris funded by IRS taxpayers. Bus fare is funded by NY taxpayers.
When the leader of the department of transportation believes some roads are racist, you know idiocy & opportunists with no respect for law will increase.🇺🇸👎
roads cannot be racist because theyre black, the lines on the road however, which one is on top, i mostly see yellow, some divided white.
Agree
No shit! This is one effed up administration!
A non living thing is racist?Everything is racist 😂.
You probably are.
Thanks!
Maybe if New York stopped giving all this free money for all these people coming in because they’re taking out our taxes😂😂😂
It doesn't start with New York. Remember that charities and nonprofits have *been making money since 2014.*
If you think non-profit organizations have only been making money since 2014, then😂@@Code7Unltd
Hell I remember rush Limbaugh talking about public transportation in NY loosing money and being subsidized by other taxes 30 years ago. It's just a truth that anything government is so poorly ran it can't stand on its own. NY needs to sell it's fleet and subway system to an private company that will make it work.
AT THIS POINT, WHO OR WHY WOULD ANY CORPORATION WANT TO 🤔
They say they lost $315 million in 2022... let's be honest, they lost nothing because they never had that money in the first place
Theft of service is a crime.....
Our government says it’s not . . . Look at the recent government mandated rent moratorium.
No, it's not (anymore).
Not many people left with good morals in this country anymore 😥
Especially big city people. Rural tends to respect each other and laws
Nah there's people with morals just not in any democrat strongholds those people sold their morals away that's why everything is so expensive there
No... there are, just not in Democrat run places.
Stop being naiive fool and look who those people skipping fare are
Well I've never met a liberal that didn't think a sliding scale morality was bad. Never been a relativist position they couldn't get on board with.
If I stick your head in the toilet .... that's not bullying.
If you stick my head in the toilet ... that IS bullying.
This is liberalism, IMO, in a nutshell.
The MTA will never be broke there subsidized by the government tell the MTA to stop purchasing vehicles for all the supervisors to go home with and drive around with, and they will have money for all the fair beaters is falling apart because of all the people up above
Exactly
that part!
The people of New York are giving back the respect that MTAint has been giving us for decades. Tired of these nasty, never on time and DANGEROUS busses. The trains are a GAMBLE now, especially at night, so FREE is only right. We are tired!
I wouldnt take the leadership in New York City seriously either
This is the essence of 'equity.' Where lazy, dishonest people live off the money generated by the honest, working class.
I want my equity of free time from these losers who have nothing to do all day but complain about equity
equity means i have free reign over the fruits of your labor bc, when im sick we sick. i quit working 2 1/2 yrs ago because of this, 200k income taxes not paid bc i refuse, ill just live on the streets, when i was courting a woman and she decided that a doper from mexico was more valualble than a 250k software engineer im done.
Equity doesn't take into account that most of the life outcomes are dictated by your own choices... so why should people who made good choices be stuck paying for the people who don't contribute? This is the problem with every leftist policy.
@russell-gt1dy If you want free time, youre free to get off of YT, or not read posts. There's your equity.
This is the best comment right here!.
Why don't divert money they spend on illegal immigrants and spend it on the MTA?
Liberals' gonna liberal.
I'm sorry, but that sounds too much like what used to be C.O.M.M.O.N. S.E.N.S.E.
And it would go against the UN and their NWO@@kimberlyhicks3644
Illegal immigrants work harder
@houseofbryks_ there not working in NYC
you are the VOICE we need not only in NYC but the whole country!!! I was born and raised in Queens.. I'm now a Floridian.. for these very reasons.. What is wrong with you NYC ??!!!
Voting has consequences.
Ever thought about our students who don't have a source of income and having to pay $2.90 both ways every day for example is just impossible
Out In Brooklyn on L line , Officers stopped a man for fare evasion and the guy pulls out a knife and threatened to kill the officer , Officer fires shots aboard a train and several injured now the community marching to ride free and officers involved are being treated like criminals and the MTA talking about upgrading the system with new buses and trains costing Billions !
😂
The MTA was always a disaster - I worked there until I retired.
If there wasn't money to be pocketed, they would've already shut it down
I’m a MTA bus operator and I love to see this finally starting
Yo, bro, I went to the Bronx, and NOBODY paid their fare (I live by Chinatown) I had asked the driver if it was one of the free buses. He said, no. I was like 😳. That's wild af.
@@elialmonte07 What a shitty society.
If you still live there you are no longer a victim you have upgraded to volunteer.
This is one good thing about a private company running the bus services. They would not let the fair evaders get away with it. Instead, the local authority would raise a tender for their expected bus service and bus companies would put in bids. The companies who can run the services with the lowest subsidy would win the contract. As long as the companies have a track record of running bus services reliably in the past, and if the companies false to provide reliable services the companies get stripped of the contract with a charge.
City being broken down. Socialism comes in to save the day. The people of NY wanted this since they selected leadership who enable it. They should not complain. Rules for Radicals and Cloward and Piven.
small hat operation
YEP!
Rabid and corrupt capitalist system, run by either dem$wine or rep$wine can not be socialist at all.
Cloward Piven😊
I grew up with my parents telling me how NYC used to be in the 80s, and how it was eventually fixed by really cracking down on crime. It's insane to think that we're literally back at square one. The people in charge have squandered everything
was the 1970's actually. but ok. like i said many times it's the NY cycle. vote left a few times city goes to total crap. they cry then vote right a time or 2. they fix it all up. then the dims vote left again. driving it back down to trash level. rinse repeat.
we shouldve always had free public transit.
