Last year I was sitting in bed and I dropped my phone on the floor so I just reached down to pick it up and right next to it was a big Funnel Web that was rearing up...needless to say I had to change my PJ bottoms after that!
18:40 one of these was crawling around my kitchen and it looked EXACTLY like a funnel web spider. Only difference was it was moving slowly and calmly and my dad said it was easy to catch.
Well I conquered my severe arachnophobia to watch this and got to say I really love the personality of the trapdoor spiders, and glad to know a few things if I'm ever bitten by a funnel web, I've already been bitten five different times in my life by Huntsmen and Whitetails
How have you managed to be bitten that many times 🧐 lol! I'm not afraid of any other spiders... However, the huntsman spider is my worst nightmare. I quite literally put fibreglass tape around my door so the big ones don't come in. I can't even cope with baby huntsmans.
Funnel Webs are no joke, where I live they aren't considered common yet I've had two in my yard/house (that I know of). One in the back yard that was moved on, another came into the house after a massive storm trying to seek shelter - male as well, aggressive AF (wasn't going to risk someone being bit). No way I was going to try and catch that thing and put it back outside, seemed almost immune to pest spray (took forever to go down).
Here in the UK, my wife was bitten by a wolf spider. I myself, was bitten by a wolf spider about ten years later. It left two little fang marks that left an itchy reaction and redness.
I got bit by a fiddle spider and the two fang marks were visible on my foot even years later, especially when I took a warm shower. Can't see them now though.
I am yhe happy owner of a Brachypelma emilia female. She is a bit skittish, but very sweet-natured. She is my 12th spider, and my first tarantula. My wife loves her too.😊
hopefully they grow in numbers enough so that humans can let nature weed out the ones that have specific sicknesses that could decimate them. I know what I said sounded cruel but that's just how nature works. Devils are predominantly necrophage, so them being resistant to all kinds of diseases is a must, currently they aren't. Once the population can sustain it's elf even through natural selection, then it will be stable.
Man that joey's a firecracker "like his mum" LMAO, so cute!!! Everything is going wild, so I'm not surprised everything is out of sync! Welcome to the world little devil in 2021 as we all know it since last year!

That’s heartbreaking taking baby Lucky from his mother, when his mother showed she wanted him back but was powerless to do so. Most heartbreaking things to watch.🥺😞
I am very much scared of spiders but they are still beautiful creatures. Scary but beautiful. I have seen anything from blue tarantulas to green, yellow, red and purple'ish spiders. They are beautiful but scary.
Indeed I am a huge cat & dog lover but adore Tasmanian Devils, mongooses, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks & otters. Badgers are kind of cool. Mongooses are so badass & I like the crazy sounds Tasmanian Devils make. I cannot stand spiders & snakes. Again, Lucky is too freaking cute especially when he was feeding. It’s amazing the contrast between the protective mom who was ornery from protective instincts but Lucky the Joey became so docile & chill once acclimated.
Why? Now the mother can bread and have more joeys and the joey can get healthy and go back for breading in a couple years. I don’t see an issue, I get that they took him away from her but it was gonna happen soon anyway.
Ha ha you made my day, spiders are many sizes and very different encounters, but what ever spiders might be, they are innocent, man got to learn there.....

Tim seriously? You guys didn't have a new episode so uploaded and old episode? Glad I stayed to watch the entire episode. I take back my 1 st comment. I had not seen your 5 favourite aussie spiders. Do I really want want to move there?
It’s so neat to see appreciation for wolf spiders! I find them here in Texas pretty often, and always get pictures. Confident is definitely a good descriptor; I’ve had them climb onto my shoes and legs multiple times, and that’s usually how I find them. It’s always a treat to see the big mamas, too, I just love seeing all the spiderlings. There was also one that I found at my old school. It was so big and still that I picked up thinking it was a stray Halloween decoration someone left on the ground. I will admit I was internally startled when it climbed to the back of my hand, but luckily for it I didn’t jump or throw it on reflex. Thankfully it didn’t bite despite being picked up, so I just carried it outside and released it near some dead leaves in the grass. It’s probably one of the few good memories I have from that school; it was mostly full of kids from rich families who lived in the city or suburbs and couldn’t handle spiders bigger than a penny. It almost felt like I gained a modicum of respect from calmly handling a spider with a leg span the length of the back of my hand without a cup and paper! I just think spiders are neat, I wish they got more appreciation. A lot of their bad reputation is underserved. They’re like the pitbulls of the arthropod world.
So in one clip they say the baby will be hand reared for 6 more months at the reptile park. In the clip just before they said its be weaned within 2 months if they had not intervened. So which is it?
My sister is actually allergic to spider venom. We found out when she was bitten on her arm by a male black widow in elementary school and the skin where she was bitten bubbled up like a big blister. She still has the scars on her arm. There's a chance I'm also allergic, but I'd rather not get bitten to find out.
All the old world species of mygalomorph spiders are generally more aggressive. So basically the spiders from Asia, Africa , Australia. The North American species are more docile.
I’m not really scared of spiders in fact when my friends see a spider they call me so I can 1, talk them through it or 2, come over and do it for them sometimes I let them craw on my hand 😊
