    Scary part is this:
    1) The shear is parallel to Miltons track, which may also help with outflow
    2) Increased forward speed of the storm may be too short of a time to weaken it significantly
    3) Surge will still be catastrophic if it weakens
    4) If it keeps intensifying further, it will take a lot to weaken it to a "less impactful" storm
    5) It still has to go over the loop current, where shear may not be enough to weaken it
Also, I'm glad you mentioned the possibility of a sting jet. They're fairly common in extratropical cyclones, which we get a lot of here over in Europe, and they're are always very destructive. I never figured them to be a hazard during tropical systems. Watch for it, and dont get caught off guard

I live in middle Georgia and today, I was just able to get internet service because of Helene. Power was out for just over 89 hours and our town is a mess. When the storm hit at 1:27am Friday, I was awaken by things hitting the house. I went out to the carport and for the first time in my life (63 yrs) I heard what people say when they claim the wind sounds like a train. It really is a scary sound. For the people in middle Florida, get ready (I MEAN GET READY!!!). Like I said, I live in the middle of Georgia and our local airport clocked winds at 116 mph. The rain amount for the storm was 3.6in, so flooding wasn't bad, but damn those winds. We have live oaks and it pushed these 200+ year old trees over like toothpicks. Hang in there Florida. I'll be thinking about you guys.

I'm working at a high priority gas station just off i75 on the evacuation route. Glad to see people heeding the notices, but running the store has been a nightmare. Out of propane, out of premium, low on regular, lines to get in backing up multiple traffic lights off the arterial road.
And I had to refund someone for their matcha latte because they said it tasted bad.

He said it’s the STRONGEST STORM YOU WILL EVER SEE IN THIS GULF AREA but IF Global warming gets worse I would guess the storm STRENGTH COULD ALSO GET WORSE as water & Earth get even warmer…NO?

I know others have said it but I just need to make sure you know how much your channel is appreciated. Thank you so much for all you do, as I am writing this comment the pressure has dropped to 905mb and I don't recall a storm being this low, anyone know the last storm with such low pressure?

Hurricane Arthur (as a post-tropical storm) in 2014 mowed down a section of middle New Brunswick from a sting jet. Went to bed expecting TS gusts, woke up with trees down everywhere.
