Make sure you tour the tunnels underneath near Darwin harbour. They are where they stored the oil to resupply all the ships during WWII. You will learn all about the Japanese bombing of Darwin which involved more planes and bombs than Pearl Harbour, very little known fact. Enjoy whatever you do guys.
Try a day at the races somewhere. They're everywhere round the Country !
In the State of VICTORIA -

Go see the great barrier reef in Cairns, Queensland Australia.
Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park
Whoa! That was so cool!
Thank you!
Wow winter in the UK to summer in Darwin. Good luck
Lovely vlog 😊
My brother lives in Darwin and is one of the few who have a fishing licence because he runs fishing charters. I've been up to visit a couple of times but I always go in the dry season to escape the winters where I live. It is a beautiful respite from the cold but a real shock when I come back home. He has always warned me not to come in the wet season the heat and humidity is choking, something you need to be acclimatised to. We went to Crocodylis Park once and I was amazed at the price of crocodile skin goods at their shop considering they breed the crocs for that very reason, a small change purse cost so much that you wouldn't be left with any money to fill it, something akin to living off the sheep's back but with crocs belly's instead. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, excellent hotel room, did you try the Barramundi (fish) or perhaps a mud crab? Cheers !!😀🥰👍🐟🐊🦀
The stingers in summer is also why you don't go in the sea up north. Great to see the enjoyment as you explore.
We’ll give it a miss this time 😅
@@AshandKels wise!!!
Crocodiles can be a slight hazard too
ILOVE your videos guys and I really like how much you like our land down under. I am a 45 years old Ozzie born and bred from Sydney's northern beaches and Darwin is one of the best places I have ever been to. Happy 2023 and I hope you really enjoy the rest of your time down under. LOVE your videos they are REALLY well done. 🥂
Thank you so much, that means a lot to us! We’re loving it here so far 😃 Happy 2023 to you too!
Guys! the new camera looks incredible! - hopefully see you both in South Australia soon!
I'm so excited to use it this week 😅 Adelaide is definitely one of our next stops, will have to time it for when you're back!
just found you guys today, it’s cool to see what other people think of the country i live in, never really think about how amazing heaps of the stuff in Aus really is, cheers from the south east coast of NSW
Looks amazing! Bring dan a croc hat back 😂 xxxx
It was so good! Only if he wears it to the wedding 😂😂 xx
Hope you had a great time over the holidays guys! FANTASTIC video! Love the look of new camera. Nice little timelapse there at the end (especially for using a new cam!). Love it ALL!!! All the best and hope to see you sooooooooooon ✌✌🤗🤗
Thank you so much, hope you guys had a great time too! Thank you, still getting used to it but we love it 😍 yes hope to see you soon!
Also, even though the wet season, Cairns and the Daintree Rain Forrest, Barron Gorge, all worth a look.
Thank you, we’ll look into it ☺️
Thanks for showing us Boot 😍 hope he has a good 96th birthday this year.
Side note, you’d be totally toast if you happened to be swimming in his natural environment !!
Crocodiles are the best animals on the planet for sure. You could see them all your life and still be absolutely fascinated every time 😊
We hope he does too! Definitely, they really are incredible animals 😍 thanks for watching!
Insta360 cameras are replacing Go Pros now. Love you videos anyway.
Sunset on Mindle beach
We headed there for sunset after filming this video, and we went to Cullen bay that was a really nice sunset too!
Go fish feeding at Aquascene at Doctors Gully. We love Darwin. We go up twice year from Adelaide. Pity youre up there in the wet season. Mindil beach market in the dry is awesome.
We really enjoyed our time here, typically the weather has been better since we posted this video! We’ve heard, we were gutted we missed it due to it being wet season! Thanks for watching ☺️
Totally agree re the Mindil Beach Markets (Thursday and Sunday evenings if I remember correctly). The prawn skewers are fabulous! Also try one of the croc tours on the Adelaide River (on the way to Kakadu past a place called Humpty Doo) - up close and personal with crocs in the wild from the relative safety of a boat.
Love the camera upgrade!! 🎉
Thanks 😁 we’re liking it so far!
In Australia you need to get outside of the city, you will be pleasantly amazed
Love the video. It's currently hammering down here in South Wales, UK.
Your accent from Camarthen?
From Pontardawe in the Swansea valley. I (Ashley) went to Carmarthen uni though!
Go to Arnhem Land just south of Darwin!
Thanks for the recommendation!
Darwin is a great place for a holiday I've been twice and found heaps to do and see . Kakadu national Park is a must day trip if you have the time you get to see crocodiles in the wild with lots of bird species , it is also an aboriginal sacred site and they have rock paintings that go back thousands of years , if you have even more time a visit to Lichfield national Park is also a good day trip on the way you can checkout the largest termite clay nests in the world over two meters tall with some reaching up to five meters and they are called magnetic because they all point north .oh and by the way that's not rain your experiencing that's liquid sunshine . Great vlog better than most I've seen .
We’ve discovered more to do after we filmed the video 😅 definitely some good day trip options! We wanted to do an airboat tour and see some crocs in the wild but the tours we’ve looked at seem to be closed as it’s rainy season! Thanks for the kind words! Really appreciate it 😁
Just subscribed to your channel. I live in Cairns. Let me know when you’re in Cairns. I know you’re both not mad, so you’ll be over this way soon I’m sure ❤ you’ll feel right at home
Thank you 🥰 We're on a holiday working visa so will definitely be visiting Cairns at some point! Any recommendations on things to do/see while we're there? 😁
@@AshandKels
Kuranda Skyrail
Great Barrier Reef
AJ Hackett
Northern Beaches - Trinity, Ellis, Palm Cove
Well, the humidity at the time I was there nearly killed me. Ive been down to the harbour where wild fishes in the harbour waters expected to be fed. They were like junkies. Plants and animals are so different and amazing. Reptiles looking so interesting but snakes and spiders are not my favourites. Thanks for sharing with us.
We can’t imagine how hot it gets in the hotter months!!
If you guys are coming back to Sydney before you fly back home, you should do a day trip down to Wollongong and drive along Seacliff Bridge. Lunch at the newly renovated Imperial is a must.
The other option is to head north and visit the Hunter Valley for some wine tasting and attend a music festival. 😊
Thank you for the recommendation, that sounds great! We’ll check it out if we head back down to Sydney ☺️
We get s one real pearlers of sunsets here in Oz. 👍
Can’t wait for the western Australian sunsets!
That's the same hotel that I stayed in when I visited Darwin.
Still remember Christmas Day 1974, Getting up & hearing vague stories that Darwin had been utterly destroyed in a Cyclone Nobody knew because Darwin was isolated back then . I still cannot believe the damage that Cyclone Tracy did to Darwin..
Katherine Gorge and Kakadu National Park. Not sure they’re open during the wet. The rocks at Katherine Gorge do not have fossils, they predate life on the planet.
Thank you for the recommendations, we’re heading that way in a few days so will see if they’re open ☺️
@@AshandKels Also check out Mataranka Hot Springs! But pending on weather!
New camera. 😎
A bit of historic trivia for u guys which u may not be aware of and may surprise u . More bombs were dropped on Darwin by the Japanese during the second world war than were dropped @ Pearl Harbor. There is a war museum there which details the strategic importance of Darwin and its port to the war as regards to the Pacific region of the conflict.
Great videos guy.
Just curious what accent you have?
I'm guessing either Welsh or Geordie?
Apologies if I'm completely off, I'm an Aussie 😁
Thanks for the kind words! We’re both from south wales 😁
Purnululu national park in WA it has many cool rock formations and is a very missed place by tourist. You can get a helicopter ride I think around the rocks
That sounds awesome, we’ll look it up! Thanks for the recommendation 😁
Start an ABC drive …pick a town starting with ABC ect and drive and stay there and review it Can be really random places anywhere in Australia
We love that idea! Very spontaneous 😁
@@AshandKels when I was younger my parents and my sisters drove from Melbourne to Noosa in QLD 3 times a year for about 6/7 years in a row …my parents made up this game that they would only stop and explore a town but had to go in order A. B. C. Ect until we made it to Noosa …we would drive from our down to somewhere like Ararat Bega ect or little towns in between that would last trip up to QLD and back would break up the boring driving and as kids we always had something to do as we had to find the towns so we would look forward to where ever we landed ..our parents made the rule that we could stop there again (unless we loved it) and it always had to be somewhere new
I mean you guys are older then we were so all we were looking for were Lilly shops and fun play grounds ect but you guy could make it heaps more exciting …good restaurants alcohol spots ect 🤣
How many years it requires to get PR in darwin for international students after 2 years of master degree in darwin sir....
I’m not sure sorry, we’re on a working holiday visa! Try having a look on google, I’m sure you’ll find the information you need there ☺️
Are you guys gonna come to Melbourne ?
Will definitely be heading to Melbourne at some point!
You ARE the pros, however, a short bit to the camera like the intro might be better off with a phone and a wireless earbud in an ear each for the mic so you get rid of the poor sound. Not a complaint, just a suggestion :)
Thanks for the suggestion, we're currently saving for a microphone to improve audio! 😅
@@AshandKels Fantastic. FYI plus a plug for Team Oz, Rode brand mic's are manufactured in Australia, mostly in Sydney.
With this catastrophic climate change is wet season now called the not very wet or the extremely wet season?
We have no idea, it was pretty wet though 😂
Wouldn’t actually be surprised if a massive man-eating croc ends up in one of those man-made beach lagoons 😅😭
Two days before my first trip to Darwin, a small saltie was found in the pool of the hotel I stayed at!
Loving your videos. Subscribed when I saw your Australia videos. But definitely not a fan of any videos visiting/promoting wild animals in captivity. We need to stop promoting these so it stops. Don't let them fool you with talk of "helping or preserving" the animals. Absolutely horrible to see their mouths taped shut for you to pet them☹️. Wild tours are easy in the north, please focus on those in the future 🙏
Get ready for the earthquake comming Soon 🙁
We experienced it! Very scary to be woken up by at 3am. Glad there was no damage done to anything in Darwin!
Lol with the snake skin.😂
Couldn’t resist 😂😂 thanks for watching!
Ash and Kels, I’ve been following your travels for well over a year. I just wanted to ask you why don’t you have a Donate button on your site. I for one would certainly kick in $$ for the great contact you guys have done over the years not to mention I’m sure other subscribers feel the same. Consider doing it! I know you’re not doing this for the money but still you could get some financial support from your fans!
Hi Mark! Thanks for joining us on another series 🥰 Hope you're enjoying our Australia videos! We have a link in the description of our videos for people to donate to support our channel, all donations would go towards better equipment to help us improve our videos. We're currently saving for a microphone and tripod 😄
