Zarna speaking of her mother-in-law: 'She comes for three months at a time.' So did my mother-in-law, at our expense (which meant at my expense, financially & emotionally). Unfortunately I didn't speak her language - Arabic, & she spoke limited English - British English, which made it even more difficult. I didn't cook much, she cooked everything perfectly according to both her & her SON. Nothing I cooked suited my husband, (yet he gained over sixty pounds in the first three years of our forty year marriage). I tried to follow her recipes. But she NEVER ever measured anything. I always followed recipes to the very quarter teaspoon. So no matter how I tried my cooking never ever measured up (pun intended). They are both gone now. He sank into a three year depression when she died. By then he was a double amputee, I was the one & ONLY care giver. It was hard. But I believe marriage, even a hard one, is till death do we part. I fully believe he was trying to kill me. Guess what I survived. I survived the forty years. I survived being told I burned water. I survived being alone: his fourteen trips 'home.' I survived the majority of my life being criticized, put down. It hasn't been easy, but I'm a survivor.
Thank you for sharing in a most honest way. It seemed like you lived a nightmare of a marriage. Now, you can live in peace as you have paid, I do believe, a karmic debt.
You can make a horror movie of Indian aunties! I'm not Indian but when I lived in India, I experienced them....and they were literally as you said "the good ones" 😂
😂😂😂 she’s so funny!! I love her! “Answer yes to every immigration question” why did I not think of that before! I’ll use that with some member of my family!😂😂😂😂
Aunty Zarna here! I’m a Female comedian and writer from India myself, lemme tell you, you have a serious fan base here back home. We are literally using some of your material as a case study for transition jokes(which are TOUGH to write unlike call back and one liners) hats off, more power to you.
Bruh...come on! We have amazing female comics in India ...Prashasti, urooj, shreeja etc. are liked a lot more than Zarna. Her humor is stuck in 2000 India. You need fresh humor to be able to connect to Indian audience.
Oh, that joke about rushing to yoga. One of the nurses and I at West Park Health Care Center used to say it to each other all the time. I was there for two years, learning to walk again. Ovie, I miss you!
😂everytime I hear you, whether it be old vid or new, whether I listen to repeated post or first time, you always always make me laugh and inspire me to do something 😂
This type of humour is obviously targeted to an Indian audience. Americans have the inane slapstick humour so, for all intents and purposes, this routine is one of an acquired taste, best served with a Vindaloo to assist in swallowing it.
I saw your interview the one in which you say in India we dont say I love you before bed to our kids we tell them go to sleep and when you wake up for studying we will make chai for you. You are really fun with fact. Ps from Indians living in India: please dont use your soft power to insult India on international platform like other comedians. Good luck ! Keep shining 🤩😎
Oh please We totally support Zarna for the sarcastic treatment of the harsh cultural issues plaguing India She is real Her content is authentic and relatable Superb
This reminded me of my aunt (who I really like btw). I was living with her in my early 20s. She once indirectly told me, they rejected a couple of girls for my cuzin coz they were "healthy" and proceeded to tell me I needed to reduce my lower body so I get good proposals. BTW My cousin has always been of stocky build. Non-existent neck and a bulky body. But that's okay. It's the girls who needed to be slim and perfect. I have always grown up feeling insecure about my lower body. Even though I don't want to marry. (Although it was never that big from Indian POV). And now TH-cam teaches me that girls yearn for a big round butt. And wear butt foam to look bigger 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
When she mentioned the single match maker bit and realised that I got my Vedic birth charts done and now happily married to my husband… 🤣 it works y’all Edit: Also he’s an engineer
re: rushing to yoga - a saying from Yoga comes to mind: "everyone should spend 20 mins per day communing with Nature. if you think you are too busy to find the time, then you need to spend 1 hr every day" 🙂
3 months not bad at all!! Mine was aiming to stay full term visa allows - 6 months, we bargained a lot and made it till 4! She was complaining every day she wants to go home, how boring it is here and guess what - she wouldn’t want to change ticket!!!! Next time will say 2 months - take it or leave it!!😂😂
I'm sorry but this is not either funny or relatable for me as a typical middleclass Indian but gives me cringe. But yeah there are people, not just any aunt, but random people irrespective of gender who gets so bothered and worked up if not interrupt and question others life(color, look, career choice, life decisions). And also showing fake sympathy even when there's nothing to sympathise about.
She has potential though.... She will improve with time... And I can see people liking this because she has lived both Indian & American life... I support her... There is a certain likeability in her as she is real and not faking experiences
Oh my god, where has this lady been all my life.
I know right I feel the same
I feel the same
Right here! Welcome!!
Yaaassss
@@ZarnaGarg zarna now that you are on social media you have to enhance your joke collection to keep it fresh. Love and best wishes. 🤗
"UPS is always hiring philosophers" omg she got me laughing right at the beginning 😂
Indian aunties make us stronger in life...they make us warriors ..survivors.
Ai agree! Lmao
Cannot argue with that
They are also the primary reason for adult children who have left home being on multiple psych meds
Randomly found her on Prime shorts yesterday, and now I just keep watching her videos. She's a fun one 😆

Sounds like torture to me, it's important you now do things for yourself, this is your time now, good luck😊
so sorry to hear that... yeah i mean tbh indian aunties and even people can be very toxic!!
As we Nigerians will say.. 'you tryooh' meaning you didn't have to take that shit😢

You can make a horror movie of Indian aunties! I'm not Indian but when I lived in India, I experienced them....and they were literally as you said "the good ones" 😂
LOL that type of movie would be a whole genre in itself
🤣

You have to think a lot to write a joke, you need to change your career because comedy is a thing that comes automatically

@valley-girl Well..sorry to be the one to have to tell you that she connecting to the world! Go figure!😊😊😊

If you are still married after saying all these things about your mother in law your husband/family is very kind😂😂.

American comedians hover around genitalia. Anything about sex and male member is supposed to be funny 🥹🙄
Superb 😂😂😂😂😂
Love you, my mum is from Madras , my dad's Australian.
You are so funny. Keep up the great work. I love you 💕😘. I am here having great time by watching your show. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

We must call our faults out too though and we should be left with soft power in the first place!
Its not an insult… just an observational facts put into words… Zaria is funny! Let’s chill.

I am Indian living in India and I don't know one person who does yoga.
Really? Back when I was there yogi's were at every corner!
@@ZarnaGarg Please kindly remember Yoga is Different from Yogi!!! 🤪😜
My Taiwanese friend has a mom like that, comes for short visit, months or until her visa is ready to run out.

Can’t stop laughing
The mother in law joke was bit sad considering she might be watching
Hilarious 😂😂😂
very funny. very very funny
It is funny how none of the Indians actually living in India can relate to her or find her to be funny.
This is from my experience :)
Speak for yourself, woman.
I can. She's incredibly funny. Her delivery is quite good. It feels effortless.
It’s not roll on the ground side splitting funny. It’s nice comedy without any vulgarity. Feel good comedy that white & asian woke folks will enjoy. 😊
Well her comedy is not for the Indian audience, the audience is New York
😂😂 yesss
Superb
❤
So funny 🤣 love ❤️ you
