- On today's episode we are wild camping beside a gold bearing river in Scotland river where we met up with the Aur Prospector in search of a few specs of Scottish gold.
If you are a keen wild camper and are looking to add something to your adventures then this might just be the video for you. The content is aimed at giving people an insight into how you find gold in a river and the methods we use. With a narration, diagrams and drone footage including unique camera angles and carefully edited project I hope you find my videos interesting and informative.

Thanks for all the videos this year Daz. All the best wishes for 2023 both on the bike and in the rivers!
Thank you Mark for your continual support. All the best for 2023 to you and your family
Happy days MrDaz, its great to be out! all the best for 2023 from myself & Jäger
Same to you pal, have a great Christmas and happy New year Lewis.
Great video and including good advices! 👍
Merry Christmas! .. Greetings from 🇩🇰
Thank you for the comments my friend. I am trying to make the videos more engaging for the audience but they take a lot of time to put together, even if there wasn't much gold on this trip.
All the best and Seasons greetings from the UK 🎄🎅
Great video again Daz nice to see Jason too . Plus that amazing tune to end the video ....happy Christmas 🎄 Daz
Hi Rob, we all met up this time last year over the Christmas break. How time flies. Have a wonderful Christmas pal, see you soon hopefully
What a blast coming by. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream. Merry Christmas 🎄☃️. Gold Squad Out!!!
All the best GS. Happy Christmas from this end 🎄
Great video, thanks. And amazing mountains and river! A trip up to Scotland is on my list. :o)
Thank you SGP. If you get the chance, I would definitely get up there, preferably before the midge season too.
Keep at it, one day you’ll come good. I and others will enjoy watching that film Daz 😊.
Cheers Sophie, I often wonder what it is with other channels such as Katie kookaburra's. She gets given bikes ,cycling gear and kit, as do many other channels.
I am never blown away with what they create given their status on this platform. I make my cycling content for the love of it as it's a hobby , not a job. Who knows, one day we might even get a black pudding sponsorship 😁
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures I know there’s no rhyme or reason to it. I follow a guy who puts out silent films of tractors in fields (Penrith area) he has 88k subscribers (obviously worldwide) probably takes seconds to edit. The amazing thing is he has advertisers!
Fantastic watching. So gorgeous there
Aur you pronounced quite well.. think of saying, aiye and put in an R on the end.
This was hard graft.
If I don’t get chance again,have a enjoyable,happy crimbo 🎄🎄🎄👌🙌
Hello Glenda, I used to ask Idris on the campsite in Wales how to say things but then my friends from Bangor pronounced things differently 😃
But yes , what a fab location this is and thank you for your comments again Glenda, they are really appreciated.
All the best to you and your family over the festive season 🎄🎅🥃🥂
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures oh yea,the gogs have a different way of pronouncing tthiings to us in the south. Actually they possess the proper language,we are pigeon welsh. Obviously I am referring with a good humour, not derogatory. Love a bit of banter.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too.
Mine is a big change this year but it will be a happy time 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎅🏻
The Gogs, lol.
All the best Glenda.
Awesome stuff, Daz
Thank you Zacch 👍
Hi Daz,
Maybe the pointing stick grass is the best part of this area. Hopefully the next big flood will bring up new stuff.
Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and good gold for the upcoming season!
Best regards from Germany!
Happy Christmas to you my friend, they reckon that the local gold panners can hit this section at all the good spots after a spot of bad weather or after a landslip to find the better gold.
There will be places nearby though that will show better results.
Another cracker of a video Daz awesome all round! Makes me want to be back there. Such a shame I missed you by a day on this trip!
The storm me and AUR had the next night was insane, one of my favourite areas for sure just stunning.
Cheers Chevsy, I had to pack up the tent and my kit in double quick time when the rain eventually came.
It sure is a wonderful place to explore like you say.
I'm sure we will cross paths at some stage too.
All the best pal and a merry Christmas from this end 🎅🥂🥃🎄
That was a mental storm Matt
Another great video commentary and drone shots Daz. Thats a stunning place and scenery like you say finding a bit of gold is a bonus keep the videos coming have a great xmas and all the best for the new year 👍
Hi Stephen, thanks for sharing your thoughts and best wishes to you and your family over the festive season 🥂🎄
Daz, it's a great video, and you've done it again. It's very informative as usual 👌 some spectacular drone footage, you just don't realise how beautiful our country is... It's a shame the gold wasn't to be found, but there is always the next adventure. Have a fantastic Christmas, and here's to the next edition. Keep them coming bud all the best .
Thank you Steve, it was a fantastic camp and it's always great to dip the pan in the water no matter what you find, or as was the case on this trip what little you find 🤔
Hopefully we will get out soon and see if we can find a few more specs buddy.
Have a happy Christmas pal 🎄🎅🥂
Enjoying the gold panning Daz, Scotland looks amazing, hoping to get up there next year. Merry Christmas buddy have a good one
Hello Jon, all the best mate, loving your Switzerland road trip videos. This spot is a good place to take the van for an overnighter . Seasons greetings to you and your family.
Yet another brilliant video mate can't wait for the next one stunning hopefully get myself up to scottland myself with my new gear and find "some of the good stuff" in the new year all the very best to you mate merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Thanks Rob, the challenge with this video was to tell the story having not found a fat lot of gold. I think being very local to these locations means you can constantly monitor the river levels and learn where the gold will replenish itself. The good thing about this location is that you can drive next to the river and find a spot easily but so can everyone else.
Best of luck though with your next trip out to a river buddy and let me know how you got on.....and seasons greetings from this end 🎅
Fantastic video keep up the good work 😊 see you soon
Hi Pete, just a quick one this one to finish telling the story. Take care buddy .
mate thats a great trip right there hope ya have an awesome christmas and a cracking new year daz cheers
Cheers Tazy T, this place has heaps of history. They reckon all the gold for the Scottish crown came from these hills.
It's just too accessible for anyone to work these days in my opinion .
All the best for Christmas and the New year pal. 🎅🎄
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures thats just fascinating mate finding its one thing the relevant cohesion with history is a whole other level of awesome luv it bro
Helloooo Daz!! Its Bleeping Frrrrrreeeeeeeezzzing Out There!! Minus 9C!! Great to see you though as always!!
Im going to watch,,,, and Comment again after!!
Hello Andrea, it has been freezing cold recently and now we have water pipes bursting everywhere
It's cold but where live is colder
That area gets like a festival if there's a warm weekend, just wish they'd take their rubbish home.
Yes Rod I totally agree with you. Some people are pig ignorant and they even think that putting their tins of larger on a campfire will somehow make everything all go away.
Just seen this one 🤦♂️better late than never 😂🤙another good video, have a good new year and probably or hopefully catch you some time in 2023 , until then stay safe and take care 🙏🏻
Hi Green and thanks for dropping by. I hope you are well buddy and the beef steak sandwiches are going down a treat still. We need to get through these cold miserable weeks ahead and recharge the batteries for spring eh buddy.
All the best for 2023 and Blwydden Newydd dda.
Good watch daz. Are you planning on doing the 500 this Xmas?
Cheers Cwil, I might give it a go but I have a lot of jobs on the house to do. I've spent to much time playing out over recent months.
Merry Christmas from this side and all the best for 2023🎄🎅
Love the videos mate. What's the dogs name............unless I'm being stupid and it's LAD !!
Thanks for the comments buddy, he will respond to lad but if you give him a biscuit he will follow you to the end of the earth
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Not like a Labrador to be motivated by food !!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
I live tens mins away from wanlochhead and do the bus route as well, we have had a lot rain and flooding up here so I expect a lot of gold being washed down, luckily for me it’s on my door step, great video as well.
Cheers Scott, I saw some images of the flooding. Get yourself out with a pan and see what you can find buddy 👍
Do tell more about that good looking spade yer wielding there Dazza ? and it looks quite light too. Thanks for another great video - thoroughly enjoyed it as always.
Hello 1000000, it's great little piece of kit and it was under £10 quid from B&Q, I've had for a few years now.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures ah, Thanks Daz - they still do a very similar one for £14 quid: just picked it up today - very pleased. Dare I say it ? (yet again for the umpteenth time), *_"I think I've now got all the kit I need...."_* 😂
Ha ha ha, the never ending collection of tools continues to grow 😆
Made me chuckle that.
We had great weather and the midges weren.t too bad this year, but the gold was elusive.
I really enjoyed the trip up there Jason, it's a shame the gold wasn't in abundance as we'd expected it to be but never the less the location was stunning.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures yeah was a great time and we met Steve too.
Its good around lairg in central Sutherland.
Cheers Will, I have cycled around Sutherland but never prospected. It's a place I would like to visit some time. Have you had much success up there.
It's tamping we're not allowed to pan in Wales, I know of 2 highly rich areas to pan just not allowed. And no, not near the gold mined!
There must be a few locations where you can be out of site and of mind to go for a recreational pan as part of your research, so long as you put anything you find back.
Another good video but shame there wasn't more shiny there for u bud. 👍⚒️🏴
Yer, it was a petty about the gold but what a fab camp
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures ye bud not been camping in a while but planning a bit next year been getting bits and pieces of kit as I go getting ready for some proper prospecting trips. 👍⚒️🏴
Nice one, best of luck for the New season buddy
Cheers bud same to u. Just got a mini tripod so I will be trying to make afew proper videos next time I'm out. 👍🏴⚒️
The tripod is probably one of the best bits of kit you will use, they free up your hands and also make it easier to get the shot you really want.
Just of word of caution though, it's not the dreaded Haggis you need to fear when making gold panning videos, it's getting drawn deeper and deeper into the editing side of things. 🤨😉😫,
It's all part of the fun, so they say 👍
Like you said its worth it just being out there.
That's right Bob, I am happy being out and about at these great locations. Cycling , walking, fishing or panning, it's all the same to me.
I may be wrong but i thought you wasn't allowed to use sluices in the uk, i am sure i read it somewhere but by now things may have changed.
Hello and thank you for commenting. Sluices are permitted.
They banned sluices for one season in this area.
Its mechanical powered equipment such as dredges that are banned in the UK!
Cheers Aur Prospector, if only they permitted a mini dredge pontoon set up. I'm sure they'd help clean the rivers up.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures yes definitely! I know certain rivers in dire need of dredging for drainage and flooding issues, let alone the gold.
That's a good point Jason
Oi you have nicked all my dreams (but you can keep the crab sticks)
Ha ha cheers Kevin 👍
Gold collects in very old moss.
That's right, it's a bit like a Matt in a sluice box.
Nowt like panning for gold with the floofer
Sure thing buddy
How much gold did you get
Hello KCM, I tend not to weigh the few specs of gold I find these days as I focus more on the story telling than how many grams I found but thank you for asking the question.
Wheres that female voice comin from daz ?
What part ?
