- Another provincial Routemaster bus vid now, this time Southend Transport. We see them at work in Southend and Canvey Island on a variety of routes. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!
Used to love the RCL with a RM rear end Southend Transport had.
Brilliant film!
Ah, RCL 2256 the only one with a standard RM back. It had a shunt and had the RCL one replaced. That was just before the decision was taken to replace them.
Great video. I went to Southend around that time and saw a few of these. Amazing that you captured them on film for posterity. 👍
I had read a book about RM's working all around the country. So armed with that knowledge i spent 1989 tracking them down with the bigger operators of them. Still lots of places to upload, they got about a bit!
Wonderful slice of history... thanks
Thank you. I wish now i had filmed all those Nationals and VR's but at the time they were everyday vehicles and i was just chasing the RM's.......
This was before the Leyland National invasion.
Yes, although i wish now i had filmed all the buses i saw this day!
Why is the deal with sky wlt reg plates , does it stand for something
London Transport block booked reg marks, those on the Routemasters had LT (London Transport) in their reg numbers from VLT 5 through to 600 CLT (RM 5 to RM 1600). A lot of London Transport buses had reg numbers that matched their fleet number.
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus thanks for the information
Are these ex London buses ?
Yes, ex LT Routemasters. Only Northern General & BA (BEA/BOAC) had them from new
