Love your video's Gjeebs but a couple things on the wash video that as pro detailer, I can't let be. Not a criticism because much of what you've presented is very good for a weekend warrior's maintenance wash - but just a few tweaks. Based what you've already done to your car (PPF, some variant of Ceramic on the surfaces and regular cleaning maintenance) I think we can agree that the basic premise that "proper care" is Clean, correct and Protect (If you have PPF and Ceramic, your installer did the "correct and protect" stages for you) If you've gone as far as you did with the products and materials used, i would suggest the following in your cleaning / wash process: Pick up a hose based foam gun or foam cannon for your pressure washer. This will help with added lubricity with your contact wash. Also, pick up another bucket for rinsing your wash media (pad) between panel's as you wash. Grit guards in the bottom of each bucket and employee the Two bucket wash method. There are tons of videos on TH-cam if you want to learn more on the Two bucket method as its a "must do" to keep your painted surfaces safe when washing. Also, wash your car from the top down, not front to back like you did in your video. Lastly, grab one more wash mitt and use the new mitt for the top half of your car and demote the old one to the lower half of the car. This will limit the amount of cross contamination from the usually cleaner top of the car to the really dirty parts of the car on the lower half the dirt will hold into the Mitt and you risk scratching if its not rinsed properly. Again, hoping to add value to your process for those serious about the car of their paint and I look forward to more shared Gjeebs content for our Teslas! Enjoy

If your car is not PPF’d like the one in the video, please ignore everything in this video. You are 100% gonna scratch and swirl your paint using his techniques. Do everything below NOT in direct sunlight. To remove the bugs, spray diluted bug remover (3D brand is good, buy a gallon of concentrate on Amazon) on a DRY car. Then foam cannon the entire car. Let it dwell for about 5 minutes. Then rinse the foam off. Bugs will likely be completely gone just be doing this. Then contact wash the car using a ONE bucket method and several mitts (use one mitt for a section of the car then discard and use a new one for the next section, working from top to bottom with almost no downward pressure, just let it glide). Two bucket method is much more likely to reintroduce contaminants onto the wash mitt, which will scratch your paint, so steer clear of that. Then rinse the car again, preferably with deionized water. With deionized water, you don’t even need to dry the car, as it will not leave spots. If no deionized water, towel dry with a car drying towel by dragging the towel across the surface. Applying pressure with the towel can also scratch the car.
Enjoyed this video! If the white seats are that easy to clean, you may have just converted me. Not driving a ton yet since I’ve been wfh - but will be ordering a MY at some point this year and I’ve been teetering on the white seats (as I don’t want to spend a ton of time cleaning them - but that looked pretty simple)
I went back and forth too between the white and black interior up until the final hour of placing my order for a Y. I went with the white, and after 4 months have no regrets. Yes, they will highlight dirt more, and thus far have been ez to clean with just water and cloth, but now I want to try what was recommended in this video. If I had gone with the black, I would feel I cheaped out with my white exterior. I take that back, the only regret with the white interior is I think it makes the car look more inviting to break-ins when parked in public, like it's a luxury interior that must have luxury items inside.
Just purchased a preowned Tesla and enjoyed your video. I wanted to make sure no water would damage the batteries for any reason. May sound silly cause rain obviously but my first EV and excited and nervous at the same times. Also noticed you said you are in Arizona, I am in Texas and also very hot anything I should be worried about. I hear people talk about battery less effective in summer and fires and this all just scares me. Any advice/ tips would be appreciated.
It should be a cardinal sin to not use a foam cannon if you own a pressure washer. Buy some good foam soap, buy a good foam cannon, and with your ceramic coating you won't even have to touch your car with a sponge. Spray it down let it sit for a few minutes rinse then dry, cuts the time in half. Also, on a side note. Should always move the sponge in one direction, so like from windshield to bumper or fender to fender. "Scrubbing" with the sponge can cause the swirls you are trying to avoid just incase a containment got on there. You are less likely to see a straight micro scratch over circular ones.
What about the under body wash? Never ever take your Tesla to conveyor belt car wash. It has made terrible scratches on our Model Y which has 20" wheels.
How about adding a list of the specific names of all products to which you refer? I looked for "GT Shine Twist Pal" but found no results. It'd be helpful if you listed the specific name of each product, so no one has to count on interpreting what they may have heard, thanks!
Hey Gjeebs, I'm taking delivery of my 2024 Model Y LR on Sunday. Should I ask or advise them not to watch my car to prevent micro scratches to be embedded into paint before I even drive away?😊
Hey Gjeebs, question I take delivery today I went to the dealership around 11 pm last night. I noticed a panel gap in my frunk. When I stood in front of my Model Y, the left looks like it’s pushed in slightly and it’s very noticeable but the right is flush. Should I refuse delivery or is that something Telsa service can easily fix or resolve? I looked at the same spec on their stock lot and the frunk was even and flush!
I am too short to reach most of the glass roof. What are your recommendations? Also my Y is the only car I've ever owned where I can't lift the wiper arms up to clean under them.
Did you use the microfiber wash linked in the description for anything? Or did I skip over it? Thanks again for the informative fun entertaining video!
Hello at your suggestion I got the interior cleaner for my new black leather seats for my model 3. The interior cleaner appears to have discolored the seats. Making them lighter than the sections not cleaned with the product. Is there an explanation for this? I feel like I got screwed using this product.
I've use this on black interiors many times and this has never happened. Have you reached out to hydrosilex about this with pictures and everything? I just use it to clean my interior yesterday and it looks incredible
