    Living in a Spanish speaking country definitely helps a lot! I was watching a video recently where this person was saying how some people move to another country but they don't grasp the language as much as they would have "expected" to, she pointed out it's because they don't hang around with locals or experience the local culture. They instead rely on services and people who speak their own language (often english)

    Wow 🤩 Hadar it’s nice to hear you speaking Spanish good job 👏 😊❤ You can say :
    Como estoy “Aprendi-ENDO, is Present Continuos “.. (this is like ING, in English.)
    I’m not a teacher but I hope this helps you to understand what I meant.
    Aprender = aprendi- Endo (endo)
    Caminar= Camin- ando.
    Comer = Comi- endo( endo )
    Estudiar= Estudi- ando
    Estoy aprendiendo Español❤
    ❤ I’m glad you’re learning other language. Good for you, We know you are a smart girl and you’ll learn fast , 💪🏽

    Touching 😊 Every word about experiencing a new language (I prefer it to "learning") resonates deeply, dear Hadar. From my experience, I've found that my "secret sauce" for language acquisition is fully adopting it as part of my identity. Through it, I turned German from being a "foreign" language into my dominant one.
    The less "foreign" you feel within, the less "foreign" others perceive you. I don't feel like the "same person" when speaking different languages. It used to be strange, but it's not anymore.
    Thanks to your pronunciation and prosody coaching, I became even more aware of the soul of language and had a true breakthrough in English.
    I'm genuinely ecstatic about your Spanish adventure! And, as you always remind us, embrace "Communication over perfection." 😇
    ¡Que tengas un día lleno de sonrisas y alegría! 🌞

    I'm thrilled to know that Spanish is your goal. I think I can speak for everyone in here when I say that we want to be part of this journey. I am a native speaker, and when I think about what it would be like to learn Spanish, I feel like I am facing a giant because of the many conjugations. You're one of the best speech coaches I know, and I'm confident you'll master this new language.

    The way you're approaching the language is really interesting, Hadar, I find it clever. Your pronunciation is impressive, I hope you find a teacher that adapts to your necessity real soon.
    DeepL is a more accurate translator than Google's, I think it could be helpful.
    I'm Colombian but I live here in Barcelona as well. I like listening to these two TH-cam channels: AprendemosJuntos2030 & Teresa Baró, comunicación de éxito. They touch topics like communication, psychology, so they're really interesting. Teresa is from Barcelona, she has a perfect diction. It can be hard to understand but I think listening to them could help with getting familiar with the language sounds.
    I'm rooting for you and wishing you the best in your relocation process, God bless you. 💛

    Dear Hadar, you’re such an inspiration! ❤ Words can’t describe how much I enjoy your relocation diaries. I’m on the verge of pretty serious change in my life as well, and I’m scared. Your diaries help me to stay grounded and have a positive outlook on everything that’s going on around me. I’m trying to be braver and trust that things will eventually fall into place, and your stories pretty much confirm the validity of such approach. If it works for you, I’m sure it’s gonna work for me 😂❤ One of the things I’m REALLY excited to witness is how your experience of being a beginner learner all over again will inspire newer strategies for you as a teacher of English. No matter the target language, I think the early struggles with an entirely new system of communication are pretty universal. I’m sure your Spanish journey is going to open so many doors, both creatively and personally. Keep us updated! And don’t forget to have fun along the way 😊❤

    Hello Hadar!!!! as a native Spanish speaker i need to tell you this... There aren't enough words to thank you for everything you've helped (me) us learn and improve every day. Maybe this is the right moment to give back at least a little, for all that you have done for us (for me), so I want to offer myself for anything you want or need in Spanish (from Colombia). At any time, let me know ❤

    My dearest Hadar. This experience will be great for you. What I love from you is that you teach English from your experience. Learning a language as adult, will give you an amazing tool to transfer that to your adult English learners. So, you will have an amazing opportunity to help adult English learners from where you have learned as adult.

    Thank you for being so vulnerable with us, Hadar! Learning a language is so tough, and I think it is beautiful that you, as a teacher, are able to connect with your students in this way! I have no doubt that this journey is going to help you grow even more as a teacher!
    I recently started learning Chinese because most of my English students are Chinese speakers. I am doing this for two reasons. 1) I wanted to make this personal connection with my students by being able to know just a bit of their native language 2) I wanted test out the new approach to teaching languages that I wanted to start implementing as a teacher. I felt very convinced by the effectiveness of this method, but I figured the only way to know for sure was to try to experience it as a student. And this method (the Natural Approach / comprehensible input...combined with "circling") is incredible!! I wish that I could sit down and share it with you in person, but if you want just a taste of it, I could send you a link to a TH-cam video (or a few) in which it is being implemented just to see if it might be a good fit for you! (I am already fairly fluent in Spanish because I live in Guatemala, but I found some great Spanish teachers on TH-cam that teach using this method so that I can share it with others!)

    Author Rojas Contreras describes translation as an Arithmatic of Loss. You say you are doing your best to want to learn but, she says there is gutteral emotion in the space between the perception and production of language. The sights and sounds of the life you left behind must be bridged to learn Spanish and many things left unsaid. Arrieros somos, y en el camino andamos.

    Well I hope that experience helps you a lot to understand many of your students that literally are learning a new language without being exposed to it. You know the shyness frustration feel less, etc but all of that will pass you will pass bad experiences (lucky you you are learning a language where people are friendly not like the English language where its culture is not that warmth to be open to others) but with the years all of that will pass and will communicate in the new language.

    You don't have any responsabilities to us, Hadar! You should listen Spanish as much as you can... use your dead time to do it! The brain needs to acquire the language first to be able to speak it... I'm 46, mum of two kids of 8 and 12 years... and I'm learning Spanish too from scratch! It's my third language actually. My mother tongue is Italian, then thanks to you I started to improve English in 2020... after two years I added French and now Spanish... and I'm improving all of three languages everyday! I try to do something everyday... this is the key... but to start speaking, you your brain needs to acquire the sound of the language by listening... You can do it, believe me! I'm doing it being in Italy you can for sure doing it being in Barcelona! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤❤❤

    Me gustó mucho tu comentario: 'create my own curriculum for learning' discovering the things that we need the most especially when time is not on our side. Muy buen consejo!!! Gracias como siempre. Que sigas mejorando tu español 😊

    Another great episode! 👏🏻
    So good! 👏🏻👏🏻 Congrats on your Spanish journey Hadar.. I can totally relate to the “creating my own curriculum for learning”. I did it with French and it’s so effective! You can create your own Sprints, tongue twisters, etc
    Good luck! Soon you’ll be sharing your podcast in Spanish! 💪🏻👏🏻💙
    With love,

    I moved to Spain in 2016, and I know exactly how you feel as far as not being able to express yourself in the way you want to. Very often I have to adjust what I want to say in order to just get it out. There is often that feeling of wanting to explode when the words won't come. But let me say this. It sounds like you have all the resources at your disposal to advance very quickly. You sound very motivated to progress quickly and I imagine you will. I look forward to following your progress. Best of luck!

    I understand very well this feeling that you mentioned in the video...when you need to say and express something and you can't find the way...😊is so frustated....happened to me so often in my English journey. You have a lot of resources to got this. Tu español será muy bueno como tu ingles.

    Estás contando la historia de mi vida viviendo en Australia sabiendo hablar en el Myles de hecho muy bien pero sin saber hacer buenos comentarios o chistes como lo hago en mi propio lenguaje. Quiero ser tan cool como lo soy en español 🫠
