      I've loved nelson big guns since I was a kid. Especially your 200 fast reverse guns. I've seen some get some awesome range. Be back in the field and get the field across the street. Definitely cool! I have a 100 150 and 200 gun from your fast reverse line. All except the 200 work. The 200 is missing parts and they're hard to find

    I like the slow reverse. I also like that it has more weight consequently having a little faster arm movement and more frequent strikes. It operates like new, amazing.

      The sled base works very well and will not move much considering the force of the water. These sprinklers will water a section of the field in about 20 minutes. Thank you for another like!

    The dealer finished my p150 rebuild. It wasn't cheap but it's in working condition. Now I need to find a smaller ring nozzle for it or get the assembly off and switch it out for a .70" taper bore.

    speaking of big guns. I just posted a video of me trying to run my PC100 (non NV version) with a .60" nozzle from a big trashcan full of water. I got about 1:11 run time until my pump stopped pumping due to the can emptying so fast. I kid you not it was almost full and i turned m,y pump on, waited for the gun to get pressure and move and i went to look in the trash can to see how much was left it was less than half. That 2" hose moves the gallons.. anyway its on my channel and actually doing this moved the counterweight on the arm unlike when i was at the pond, im not sure whats different except maybe that the suction hose was about 3-4 feet off the ground inside the can (tall can). maybe that had something to do with it, but as far as i know the more it has to work to pump the water the less performance you get. which is why i need to get the other end on my 10 ft suction hose and try that to see if i get some better performance.

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the pumps can move a lot of water quickly! That could be the case that the counter weight was moving due to the water in the trash can being "above ground" rather than the pump having to pull water up a few feet below from the pond.

    There is a video of a guy with a SR150 that was short stroking due to bad arm bearings. He replaced the bearings but now it hits the stream so hard it pushes the arm back so far that it hits the bottom of the guns barrel. We tried (me and ian) telling him to adjust his counterweight and drive spoon but he can't figure it out. He will eventually be replacing bearings and other parts again unfourtanetly because of it hitting the stream so hard and pushing the arm back so far. He should probably invest in a SR200 as that's meant for high volumes and won't have that effect on the drive arm

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully the guy figures it out before having to overhaul it again.

    Still looking for any of the old FR guns. Like a p100,150,and 200. That p150 is still on ebay for 1000$ or best offer, I offered 430$ and he declined. My friend said I shouldn't pay any more than that because it could need rebuilt. Arm bearings, reverse mech bearings and linkage, brake, etc. The guy says it works fine but I think everyone's definition of "fine" is different. I'd pay a little more but don't want to pay a arm and a leg for rebuild

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't mind a P100 or P150. $1000.00 is pretty steep, especially when factoring in the lower value of the Canadian Dollar, then it's about $1260.00 with the current rate of exchange, plus import taxes and shipping. Yes true, if there's a good chance it needs to be rebuilt, then your offer is reasonable. I agree, everyone's definition of fine is different lol.

    @photocontrol Could you please share the details of the setup, the blue part on which the big gun is mounted on? I'm getting the SR 150. I'm new to this type of system and need some assistance on how to set it up. Thanks

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, that's great you are getting an SR150. I welded up the mounting base myself based on the model shown in the link here. www.atsirrigation.com/products/agricultural-sprinklers/sprinkler-carts-and-stands/ Looks like the company closed. Theirs has a solid riser but I installed a 2" pipe with a threaded tee and can change the height of the riser if needed, my angle braces are adjustable as well will a U bolt to support the riser pipe and allow removal rather than being permanently welded. I use cam lock fittings to connect to the stand and have it set up where I can use 2" hose or lengths of 2" aluminum irrigation pipe. I believe the SR150 has a 3" inlet so your setup will have to allow for the larger size pipe connection.

      @photocontrol I want a stand like yours. With it being easier to set up and being able to tale extra weight for bigger guns as well is a big plus for me especially with my stand being more susceptible to flipping due to the extra pressure of 2 pumps. I could use sandbags or bricks or concrete blocks to weight it down. Plus I don't have to set it in the ground either just pull it across the grass. Would be easier to set up and I'd put some camlock adapters on it as well for quick and easy connection to a hose and I could use adapters too for easy switching of sprinkler heads or guns.

    Also does your f100 have a ring or taper nozzle ? If it's ring, it's easier to change. You can just take the cap off to change the nozzle, which is a ring. It's basically a stainless steel washer

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a taper nozzle, it's a .70" which should work pretty good with my pump, I will order a .55" nozzle to try on it.

    • @NelsonBigGunP200Fan
      @NelsonBigGunP200Fan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@photocontrol a .55 will give you much more pressure and less volume. It's strange how a .86" ring works better on my p150 than a .80" taper on my pc100

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

    The dealer called and said it'd be 400ish to rebuild my p150 I told them go ahead. I'll definitely make a video once I get it back especially the brake settings I'm going to show the difference with it set and with it loose. Did you know you can remove springs from your base to adjust the brake on the SR guns ? I watched a video on nelsons page about troubleshooting a end gun that won't rotate and they said for lower psi try removing a few springs from the base and that'll loosen it up a bit making it move a little faster

    • @photocontrol
      @photocontrol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That will be a steep cost to rebuild, but you'll have a good working unit. No I was unaware that you can take out the springs for adjustment. Makes sense for better operation with lower pressures.

    Very nice SR100. That's on my list of stuff I want. Your pump runs that very nicely. Did you get that off ebay ? My wish list for big guns is a p100,p150,and p200. And a SR100,75 AND 150. Also I want a rainbird 105c and one of those bauer mirror image guns that are like a p200 but are backwards. They go reverse for the forward cycle and then fast forward for reverse. Very rare to find.

    • @NelsonBigGunP200Fan
      @NelsonBigGunP200Fan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The p100 150 all have their reverse deflector on the bottom of the barrel and are fully adjustable from drive arm to brake force to alieve some stress associated with the fast reverse cycle

    • @photocontrol

      Thanks! Yes I got it from ebay. That is a nice wish list you have! I will be eventually getting a Rain Bird 103DL which seems pretty rare these days, that will be my first fast reverse model.
