🍻 Pouring one out for the Algorithm Overlords. Great siege defense as usual. I usually skip the defense myself and assault the siege camp. My army of 700 just mopped the floor with 2.7K Valandians. Now I got the Surgians, Battanians, and Northern Empire all declaring war on me too. Things about to get spicy.
Yep although for this epic siege series I'm routinely skipping the obvious or the easier route just because epic siege is both so fun and also because a lot of people love watching it. 700 versus 2700 is quite the accomplishment we really should share some videos at some point unless you're just a carbon copy of me LOL
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions my formation borrows your shield formation cavalry on the wings to protect two divisions of archers, one thin shield wall of infantry followed by a thin line of assault troops and then a gang of horse archers and last but not least like 10-15 skirmishers to finish off anything that gets through. The horse archers serve to both provide a 360 degree field of arrows, plus assist with killing cavalry that are decelerated by the infantry. They are the crux of my battle lay out. When the enemy is reduced to garbage troops I send the cav out to surround the wings then F1-F3 all of them into the enemy. If the enemy is too strong then I can retreat my horse archers and infantry back in the V and pull them into a kill box a la double envelopment with the archers and horsemen on the wings. But so far the AI seems pretty clueless as I usually let them get to within 100-75 meters before F4-ing. They just kind of trip over each other or come in strung in a line or retreat.

I really need to drop my companions and / or demo it in custom battles because my companions and family right now have been fighting this same campaign for awhile. @@joelhall3820 Cool! I'll check it out if you post it. This is actually something I'm worried about. Can guys get so good at Bannerlord so quickly that I'm making it boring for them? Love your content! Although I am one of those f1 f3 guys, and I enjoy being in the onslaught and massacre enemies myself much more than commanding troops, things that you are doing to this poor AI are just amazing! Best wishes - keep it up!
Thanks so kindly for the encouragement and kind words. I'm trying to infuse that desire for tactics across the land and it seems to be working. SOOO much more satisfying to play like that and feel like YOU are the reason your army won. Goodluck out there!

@@Celticrasta89 you also can use valleys where the enemy have to go down and then crest the far side. As long as the terrain there is semi level you can set up to slaughter them as the struggle over the lip of the valley.
I just fought my first 360 vs 1000 defensive siege today, and holding the walls actually kind of worked. Well I kind of fell of the walls and ended up outside, but so long as you have catapults that do take out their siege engines it works. I ended up just blocking 1 of the 2 ladders they were using to get in and my infantry took out the rest
Its just a bit too op, he purposefully doesnt destroy rams as it removed the tactical fun out of the game and the ai generally dont get the rams so it levels it out
Yep what are the best and easiest ways to win a keepsiege is to simply destroy the enemy's siege Tower and ram. If you get both down somehow before the doors get blown open it would be almost impossible to lose a castle. Unfortunately the AI is not smart enough to rebuild a seed ram after one is destroyed and they pretty much just route and fall on their face

This is more of open question but do you generally reload saves before battles if it isnt for a video or do you tank being held prisoner and rebuilding up? I get making videos you cant afford rebuilding so this is more a question for if you were playing without the time pressure of videos
No, the simplest answer is that our army doesn't lose very much now. For SOME of these videos, the exhibition series(the "300", the companions in blood series, and a few of these custom Epic Siege series), I will reload battles of loses, but I try to say how often that happens if it does... In my campaign, I readily 'allow' the bad shit to just happen and simply rebuild my army as such. It's a small spoiler, but it happens soon in the campaign(a calamitous loss), and I keep on trucking. Last thing to keep in mind here is that I am fully prepared for this with mostly stacked/stocked garrisons that can almost instantly reload us at least a decent army, and very often an elite army. Longest thing to recover is the 40 companions with ransom and whatnot...
28:37 kinda being a bit of a nerd here but those pauses are also because of all the damage that’s having to be calculated. Your computer is probably having to do hundreds of damage calculations at once. Pretty crazy what our tech is capable of, even if it has to stutter a bit.
Hey! I've been watching more and more of your videos recently and I've got to say that I'm becoming less and less of a F1/F3 and a F6 commander and more knowledged on alternate ways to lead my battles (I've been enjoying the power of the square) One question ive had was if you've considered doing a defense of Ab Comer Castle (if you havent already) it's a one-of-a-kind Battanian castle with two courtyards, and with level 2 fortifications, the walls surrounding the rear courtyard can be accessed (not on level 3, unfortunately). I've seen that one, yeah. I just have a liking to Ab comer because like Caleus Castle, it's the only settlement of its design, and allbeit some areas of it are underwhelming, like a few other battanian settlements, I just believe its unique enough to get it's own spotlight.
