Immediately adding Bat Eater to my TBR 🤣 but also, I read Fae Quin’s christmas romance series over the holiday period and they’re also so good! I know cozy romance isn’t really your vibe but if you’re ever in the mood next christmas, would totally recommend!

I also saw that the one I read was actually #2 in Fae Quin's alien MM romance series so I'll probably be picking up #1 at some point since I had so much fun. Oh I'm so sorry that Dangerous Waters didn't work for you because it does sound like exactly the type of thing that should be a winner for you. I agree that The White Book being very meh unfortunately. I think I still really want to read Boy Parts and you feeling conflicted just makes it sound even more interesting 😂 Oh wow Bat Eater sounds incredible. I'm glad it lived up to the hype.

And yeah, I rec Boy Parts on audio of your lib has it. I dnfd it physically 2x before, but audio got me through. And YES, Bat Eater really ate. I so hope they pub the woman's face cover version. I want to buy it 🦇🦇🦇
I got a Bat Eater eArc too! And tbh I loved it was a book with TWO horrors - ghosts and racist white men lol. Loved it, glad you enjoyed it too! My guess is that it's gonna be in a lot of best of 2025 lists.
I read Kaiju Preservation Society last month and it was just okay. I really like John Scalzi, Fuzzy Nation was one of my favourite books last year but KPS was kinda meh
