Oh my gosh, finally...a review of Latino independently owned business of the best Mexican product! As a child my Dad would go early in the morning to a local bakery in Redwood City, CA (La Azteca) and bring home warm bread. Warm Mexican bread with Mexican chocolate. Oh my. I grew up in Pico Rivera and use to go there growing up. Glad to see it’s still going strong. My best memories were of my grandma picking out her favorite empanadas.
We live in Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga area... and this video alone is making us want to visit the Duran Bakery. This is important we support our local businesses. Huge thank you for sharing this bakery with all of us. Will make sure to add the Duran Bakery to the list of “must do”s!

I live in San Francisco and I wanna go too next time we go down there to visits family.
What a humble family.. so nice to see! I loved how they participated in this video..great job! 🙌🏼 The little gingerbread ‘piggies’ have always been my favorite since I was a child.. the flavor is amazing! 🐖 I definitely plan to stop in and check this out when I head down to L.A. this summer.😉
Our first time trying the gingerbread Piggies, they're so good! Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee.

Omg!!! I grew up in pico rivera and lived down the street..my mom lives right next door to Durans! She goes there every morning for their coffee, their pan dulces are bomb tasting... you should try Mario's Tacos too in pico on Whittier Blvd. Not to far from there....I grew up going to durans 😋😋😋

I love this!! They are so welcoming. Going out of the area to promote and explore during these times. This is why I loved growing in up in Southern CA. The cultures of so many and their delicious food and being close in radius in every direction imaginable. Great job to Anessa (you did awesome) and the whole family. I absolutely LOVE seeing family run businesses, especially since the hardships they have faced in this past year. It warms my heart (and my tummy). Those jalapeno cream cheese rolls?!?!? They stole my heart...I'm seriously going to dream about them. I'm not usually a sweets person but I would murder some of those pineapple and the apple pastries. Bill & Lisa thank you so much for highlighting small businesses. Duran's just went in my food bucket list notebook of places to visit. Hopefully I make my way to Pico Rivera one day.

Family run businesses like this that have been around for years and make everything fresh daily really show the skill and love they put into their product. Watching the family business still being run by the next generation is the best! Vanessa is adorable!
We have a bakery in El Paso, TX called Bowie Bakery and they have been an El Paso icon since 1951. Celebrating 70 yrs this year.
Seeing Duran's Bakery reminds me of Bowie Bakery.
They make the same things Duran's Bakery makes.
Bolillos in El Paso are also known as francesitos which means little French bread, which is what they are.
Buttered Mexican crescents are really good. I call them lobster claws since that is what they look like to me.
The piggies are also a favorite but we call them maranitos, Spanish for little pigs or piggies.
Empanadas filled with pineapple and the pink cookie are also favs.

You guys would love Duran’s, Yvonne! Not only are their pastries amazing, but their Tres Leches cake and tamales are equally delicious! We had no idea the Piggy cookies are a thing. lol. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. 😋
