Shots fired. Redcat has decided its going to own 2024. Between the Vigilante, the Ascent 18, 10th scale Ascent, and now the Ascent Fusion, they are dominating. Arrma and Traxxas just keep rehashing alot of the same stuff with minimal changes. They're gonna need to step their game with these other companies gunning for them. Rlarrlo and FMS are looking for a piece of the action too. In the end, competition only benefits us, the consumer as we get more options and maybe even better prices. I can't wait to see what the rest of 2024 brings.
I have the vigilante. The vigilante is by far the best bang for the buck, very durable, handling is great. 860 if this or 1100 for a xmaxx, I'll take the vigilante and the xmaxx is my favorite RC.
Buddy got a Redcat on release day and it’s def a fantastic large body basher. He was ramping it and throwing everything at it and it just ate it all. He did eventually crack a hub, but that was after extensive bashing. For the money it’s def a great choice to go with.

lol that’s a under statement when you said it needs a little thicker in the center.. take the diffs apart like I did. There’s nothin in them! Like so dry that nothin will even think about dripping out if you hold it upside down with the ring gear off. I went 20million center 500k front 200k rear and that thing loves it. Oh and take that 18T pinion off and slap a 21-23t on it and it’s blast to drive
From what I’ve seen, it’s the best handling 8s on the market both on the ground and in the air. Time will tell how durable it is, but out of the box, no 8s performs this smoothly in all areas.
This was a great video Mark had a bit of everything! I love the scale looks of the track and the cars drifting. I might have to build a drift car to scale for the garage one day. Also that RedCat I’ve seen it in a few videos and the thing looks awesome. I might even sell my Xmaxx and get one. Since I don’t bash the large trucks hard anyways, and I like the looks of the Redcat body more!

Been wondering when or if u was gunna review this truck...ive seen it on Rc Driver like a week ago and a few others and i think it aint worth $400, so many issues right out the box,screws loose,tires wrong side and loose ,battery terminal was all bent amd not good....yeah i the Xmaxx all day...and Mini Maxx,they are the 2 Beasts on the Block...cant wait for a self righting M41 as well...kinda look dumb sitting sideways in the water ,but thats the design,and why it take so long Traxxas?? And for a Trailor??🥴
I’d love to get one but for now 860 is a little steep on price for me I’m even thinking of switching most of my Rc stuff too Redcat anyways over the years redcats have gotten more durable and there head quarters is right out of my home state. Yea there cars aren’t Roar legal but I’m not going pro in a day all it really matters is to have fun at the end of the day.

The vigilante has a power distribution problem with the power train ,front end has more torque than the rear,,put silicone ear plugs in center diff it will equalize the power distribution,and give the rear end more torque,diff fluid is a waste of time in the vigilante,center diff spins thicker diff fluid like the thicker fuild like it is not even there,, it yeah the new red cat vigilante has a lot of power,just need to lock center diff with silicone ear plugs..
Man I can't even afford the batteries to be able to enjoy my arrma of notorious 6s and seeing all you TH-camrs with all these RC cars that aren't even opened yet and all these batteries that aren't even open yet kills me cuz I can't even afford to buy mine and I'm not broke I'm 37 I'm not a little kid it's just hard to have an extra $200 for batteries

I'm near you then, I'm 45 and retired recently so I'm getting into RC after doing a few frame off resto's on 60s Chevys, won trophies with them and looking for a CHEAPER hobby, even if its not that cheap. I need advice on controllers differences, traxxx 1/5 scale, and already looking ahead at possible motor swaps, servos, speed cont, ext...... Do you ever sale anything? Been watching vids fairly often but heard you say Leander, WHAT? LOL
Main thing fogging my mind is motors and how number of turns impact them, different controllers and is it just adding support features or do they impact the frequency range things like that. My last 2 rc were Lobo 2 and a Walmart 1/5 monster lol
For $850, it's a clear YES! Even if its not as tough as the Xmaxx, they had me at the body alone and it seems durable enough for my style.
Oh it's definitely as tough as the X-Maxx. Some may say it may be tougher depending on who's video you are watching.

yes rebranded XMAXX, with a bit of Kraton added, and a bit cheaper with a few different metal upgrades. Affordable.

The black Gorgon is a kit. The diffs and shocks are already built but you have to build the truck.

It's a multiple PC chassis, it's nothing alike. It breaks in half with a bunch of support brackets.
