    I purchased one for my wife and she absolutely loves it. Great vehicle for around town. Easy to park and quite peppy. The dealer gave a good discount from MSRP, making it a better price option than Mazda or Kia.

    People who know a little about cars know that 1.2L 137 HP with a CVT transmission for 36K, is not a good deal. You are better off with any other from the competition (except GM that uses the same engine).

    3 cylinder engine? No way.! $36,000? No way! Too many other choices. Love Buicks in the past but this one will be hard to sell in my opinion. I would buy a Bolt over this anyway.

    None of the recent American turbo 3-cylinder engines are holding up over time, just too much stress on them, or the turbo's go boom. The car does look decent but no way I would pay $36K for an American turbo 3-cylinder that will be toast by 100k miles. I would consider it with a 4-cylinder + hybrid assist though.

      I live in a mountainous area in Canada. Lots of snow, gravel roads and and some paved. Fantastic car in all situations. Only fault is towing capacity.

      I don't think you're basing that opinion on anything based in fact. Buick is the third-highest rated in terms of reliability; the build quality is outstanding. There's no mechanical reason why a 3-cylinder engine would experience anymore stress than a 4-cylinder engine or last any less time assuming all things are equal in terms of care.

    If it does not have a sun roof, then it is not "fully loaded" as you claim. Fully loaded means every available option offered.

    Chev/GMC/Buick really needs to get back into Hybrid/PHEV, I really wouldn't be shopping in this segment without those as minimum options available as the other luxury and domestic brands all have variants with them. Even if I wanted a sportier gas only option, the gas engines are meh, an existing 1.5L-2.0L turbo surely could have been squeezed in, and the CVT is such a glaring cheap misstep for droning annoyance with the 2WD options that it baffles me why they didn't keep the 9 speed transmission for all specs (not just AWD). I don't know what the higher ups there are thinking with their cars/suv's but they're missing the mark where consumers and enthusiast cross compare and expect value for their money spent.

    It is cute and do like the blue. I would wait a few years to see the reliability of the engine and gas mileage is pretty bad for an engine that small. Def needs at least a hybrid. I would go for the UX even for more money or get something cheaper that is at least a 4 cylinder NA or turbo.

    For the asking price on this Buick, I'd definitely prefer the still handsome Mazda CX5 with its NA 191 horsepower engine 4 cylinder (and available turbo), standard AWD, and a torque converter automatic. There's nothing compelling about this Buick. And Buick should at least offer the Chinese market 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine thats optional on the Encore AND Envista in 🇨🇳

    • @KNRS927
      @KNRS927 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Buick is relying on its brand name at this point but issue is, they really don't have a brand name anymore. I don't view them as a bridge between mainstream and luxury because, quite frankly, that gap has been shrinking gradually and Buick quality just isn't there. The CX5 is more of a luxury car than this thing all while being bigger as well.

    I like my car better the Encore GX ST 2021! And I preferred no sunroof. And I finally got my crossbars a year later as it was not available when I bought it in 2021. I can’t believe they redid the Fontaine unit scream. It looks UGLY sticking out. My Encore GX is Steele gray. I have a 1.2L and I did not need a 1.3L. My car fits my lifestyle. If people want speedy ride get a Nissan sports car geez. And with my Buick I can finally find parking. Some parking lots have small parking spaces so my car fits perfect. I’m glad Buick made the Encore and Encore GX ST. The style of the car is gorgeous and luxurious! And the price I got it and with discounts was wonderful. My car has low miles still and already have people asking if I was selling it when I was getting my car her regular auto serviced.

    I rented one, it was fine around town, but the first time I merged on the freeway, I ran into truck traffic...I'm dumb...then it happened two more times...wtf...it's slow, that's what's wrong. It's fine around town, but to me, it's crazy slow to freeway speed, maybe the slowest car I've ever driven.

    40K+ OTD prices itself out compared to the alternatives. I would legitimately choose a 2024 Kia Seltos SX over this. You'll be getting more for far less.

  • @KNRS927
    @KNRS927 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

    I still dont get the purpose of this car and what it has to offer now. Mainstream cars like the Kona, cx30, Corolla cross hybrid, and seltos are far more substantial than this while being available for less. For 36k, you could even get into a class above and get something like a cx5, crv, Tucson, or sportage. This car just doesn’t make sense for me.

      The Kona is a clunker. Sound system is also terrible. CX30 and Corolla are noticeably smaller interior. Seltos feels "basic". Buick is quieter and seats are much more comfortable than the Mazdas. Mazda has a more basic, simple retro? interior. (It has knobs vs touch screen) Buick has the largest screen size. No, you aren't going to win any races in the Encore, but it has more than enough power to get on and off the highway. Overall, the Buick has the best package for the price.

    Seriously a three cylinder turbo and it’s only averaging 24 miles per gallon. That is not wonderful miles per gallon. I would stick with a Honda CRV and you would average 29 miles per gallon. Plus it’s a much better vehicle with better reliability. Yes, it’s a great design. It looks way better than the last design but that kind of mileage is ridiculous. Too many compromises with this vehicle for $36,000 $
