Nice kayaks setups Gene. There's a guide, Chuck Earls up here( Lake Erie) has a similar setup. He takes clients for walleye and smallmouth. Catching big fish in a small one person boat feels way better than catching small fish in a fn yacht lol
I saw you pull into Thomaston GA last weekend with that setup. It really looks nice. I wish you had a chance to fish Big Lazer and put on video while you were here.
Hey Gene. I can’t seem to get a true definitive answer regarding mounting a transducer to the bottom of the dry pod. Does it have to have a spacer to use side scan? If so, how much? Any products recommended? Looking to attach the 3 in 1 by lowrance. Thanks!

Yes it is. Compared to bass boat fishing it's just a different challenge. I'm forced to figure them out in the area that I'm in. and it has greatly improved my skills.
@@FlukemasterI think kayak fishing is like extreme sport compared to the luxury of a bass boat. I was getting passed by a Nitro Z21 and big Phoenix bass boats. But I was catching fish for the Knucklhed series in a 10ft $400 paddle kayak lol ( East Harbor, Lake Erie)
Nice yaks Gene! I’m thinking about getting a PWR and adding the NK180 pro on it. I plan to connect the rudder cables to the motor in the future, but in the beginning I’m going to use the PWR rudder and lock the NK180 in place. Do you think Bonafide will make a metallic rudder to replace the original in the future?
I'd go ahead and remove the rudder and hook the steering to the motor. If not the rudder will redirect the water away from the motor and you will lose efficency.
Or just throw them in an old town sportsman. Hand them a paddle and a couple rods and get to it. Then they won’t need a two hour training course on how to operate a fishing kayak.
Overall weight of that rig? Wind is my arch nemesis. Getting blown around makes me irrationally annoyed. In your experience, does a heavier kayak equal less movement due to wind? Logically, it makes sense, but what is your experience?
Get a anchor trolley or Anchor Wizard system if you don't pay for a power pole. I have same problem , I need a heavier anchor or play the wind and current as a advantage
@lowlifeangler I have an electric anchor on my yak that works well. But wind direction changes constantly so the boat moves laterally. All good if I'm in current but I fish mostly lakes.
I'm not sure the weight. This one handles it well but with an Xi3 motor w/ spot lock dealing with the wind become second nature. It only gets squirrely when there is no wind. Then you don't need it anyway.
The company that owned them made a poor business decision in 2019 the result of which caused them to no longer be able to make all welded boats. I stayed on with them for another year in hopes that they would fix things and they never did. I kept the boat until my good friend who is a guide in Tennessee needed a boat worse than I did so I sold it to him. I'll get another one as soon as I can. Until then I'm filming out of a kayak.
Looking for a kayak. I’m about 340. You think this would do me right? I’m only 5’10” and my legs are prettty big so I got plenty of weight on the lower end 😂
What happened to your boat. Why do you try to put all of that crap on a kayak!? Don't you realize that if that thing rolls over you're done for. You aint getting that thing back up right. I've been using kayaks for years and that's got to be the dumbest most unsafe thing I've ever seen!!

Nope. I've been in several downpours and haven't had an issue.
