After many years enlisted in the AF, tried to go OTS . Boards getting canceled, moved, only looking for certain degrees; past few years been slim pickings…So here I am in Navy OCS watching this 😂 . Still great info across the board, and I will strive to continue to serve others and get the mission done.
AS a former OSVET, Good luck. Make LT Commander and retire. Mustangs rarely make it above Commander. Most of the ADMs I have seen were Academy. BUT a Academy drop out gets the fast lane to CPO. A batch and masters for enlisted while serving? Most of time for the same SVM will end up a Warrant. But follow the Path uncle did. Was Reserve LT Commander. He retired as Pacific Coast Director of Parts and Supply. Department of the Navy ESS is also a good thing. Probably the East coast Fleet Commander also has a civilian like that in a office close by in the same building. In my 22 years I was assigned 7 different stations in six different states and two 1 year tours assigned outside the US. He was in the same building 15 years and another close by for 18 years. Imagine, actually owning a house without having to retire. I only seen one SCPO do that. But it also happened while in his last enlistment and command assignment.
Being an officer is so easy and rewarding specially for those of us who want more out of life and don’t just want to party. Promotion from O-1 to O-3 is a given just like promotion from E-1 to E-4, O-3s make more than an E-8 who’s been in for at least 10-15 years active duty
Just got accepted for the Air Force HPSP program for medical school. Excited to join, and my long term goal is SOST. Great podcast and thanks for the information!
