Rachel Reeves, the chancellor, has addressed delegates in Liverpool during Labour’s first party conference in government for almost 15 years.

Renewables have to be subsidised by the tax payer, if it was profitable then the existing energy suppliers would have invested billions. The Labour Party protested against nuclear power for years and had we built the planned generators we would not need to cover good farm land with panels or our countryside with wind farms. Look at the production of the panels and wind generators and the pollution they create let alone what happens when they get to the end of their life cycle. The man doesn't understand the energy market along with most politicians that is why they said wood was a renewable so thousands of people bought wood burners or opened their fireplaces up, then polluted the atmosphere leading to legislation that means the wood burned has to be kiln dried so that creates a whole chain of pollution and prevents you just picking up wood from your garden and burning it.

@@SoloSi2024 So if you are already in a low rated house you are safe. This is for landlords who have no tenants in or are re-letting it. There is funding in place till 2026 for landlords and tenants to take advantage of. To get them where they need to be :). I have been doing the funding for a few years now. The Tories only scrapped the c rating last year but before that, it was still a target. Most properties are D rating already so it will only need minor improvements anyway
