You'd have to say that Radiances debut year was nothing short of stunning. They've cemented themselves as a top tier boutique within 12 months in a pretty competitive market where inflation is really high and people don't have as much money to spend. I've managed to get them all so far apart from the latest batch with World Noir amd Elegant Beast etc. The only gripe is rheir limited edition run is so low and they sell out too quickly. Hopefully they'll start to increase that in 2024 as rhey clearly have a market for their releases. All the ones you choose (except for the ones I mentioned that i don't yet have) are great (there's a couple in your list I'm yet to watch!.. but I'm sure they'll be great). Really excited for their 2024 line up.
Top label, maybe my favourite. Thats me ordered the last 2 bundles. Not a bad film ive seen from them although i do have a few i got in the sales still to watch.
I had so much hope for this label after watching Fran on your channel. I’d never heard of O.C. & Stiggs but love Robert Altman and so naturally picked up Thieves Like Us too. I then picked up The Hot Spot and Miami Blues. All superb, first time on Blu-ray in stunning packaging with booklets and great extras. I’d missed Welcome to the Dollhouse so picked up the standard edition and loved every minute of it. I’d certainly want more Todd Solondz from Radiance. So why am I now disappointed? I just don’t see more of the above coming now that Radiance has changed direction and moved fully into world cinema. Each to their own but it’s just not my cup of tea. I hope I’m wrong though. What are your thoughts?
I’d wait and see what else there is to come. There were some films that sold out really fast like Welcome to the dollhouse, so I’d expect more like that.
Shocking to think at this point last year, Radiance had yet to release even one film. 36 movies in a year would be a struggle for even established labels to accomplish, let alone a start up! At this point I own somewhere around 10 titles but your review has put a few more on the list. Nice work!
I have only watched 18 so far, I am really having a hard time starting any of the box sets. Elegant beast scheduled for next Sunday, can't wait to see it. Big fan of Yuzo Kawashima here.
Radiance is great label! I have only three titles and one box set of 2023:Messiah of Evil, Elegant Beast and Red Sun and Cosa Nostra box set! I am planning to pick up the dead mother and Le Combat dans L’ile !
Radiance is the company I own the least of but want more! Only picked up Messiah of Evil & The Horrible Dr. Hichcock so far but need to track down A Moment of Romance & Visible Secret before they skyrocket in price!
I saw Messiah of Evil and I liked it, but I didn't pick that one up yet. I've only bought two from Radiance so far, both blind buys that I am glad I bought (and enjoyed watching), and it's funny that those are the two you just mentioned, A Moment of Romance and Visible Secret!
I liked Big Time Gambling Boss, Messiah of Evil, and The Bride Wore Black. I do want to see the others you listed. The two I have so far from Radiance I really liked, A Moment of Romance and Visible Secret. This is definitely another interesting label to watch.
I randomly purchased Messiah of Evil, Oc and Stiggs, and Thieves Like Us. Absolutely hated Messiah of Evil, I thought it was just a dumb, badly made & poorly paced movie, completely lacking any atmosphere. Oc and Stiggs was uncharacteristic, unfunny and failed at any meaning. 'Thieves Like Us' was actually pretty good, but I felt that the nude scenes were unnecessary for the actress in the film. I will give 'Elegant Beast' and 'Dead Mother' a watch. Who knows anymore!
Radiance is killing it. Best label for me as well.
Messiah of Evil is brilliant! It's one of my favourite horror films. Like you say, it's all about the atmosphere with this one. I love it!

World noir and elegant beast was a phenomenal package to get I absolutely loved all those films.

They have had a phenomenal year.
Radiance is amazing!

Elegant beast is so good. Definitely prioritise the world noir set. All the sets are great really.

Those are good releases. I’d recommend the world noir set it’s fantastic.
@@manvfilmGraham , thanks for the recommendation but it is region B, therefore, I am picking up only Radiance releases which are region A.
Radiance is the company I own the least of but want more!

Those films will become really expensive as soon as they go out of print.

I utterly loved Elegant Beast. There was something unique and captivating about that film.
Nice, I will have to keep an eye on that one as a potential blind buy, or watch for it streaming.@@manvfilm
