Mino produces entirely his own music. From the beat to the lyrics. Starting from the album concept, he draws the teaser posters himself (funfact= Mino is a painter who opened his own exhibition and has become a household name whose paintings are approved enough to be exhibited in the UK gallery), he makes the clothes of his backing dancers himself (After GD, he is the most influential rapper who creates trends and makes a name for himself in fashion. funfact 2= Mino's the first kpop artist to walk on the Louis Vuitton runway at Paris Fashion Week, one of the biggest fashion events in the world.) Even though YG is a big company, Winner and Mino do not give up on their creativity by taking care of everything from the song idea to the album's release. They don't hand it over to the employees and sit back.
He is a rapper whose talent in writing lyrics has been approved, so much so that his lyrics are full of wordplay and hidden meanings that Korean professors publish videos on TH-cam like lessons to explain his lyrics. Mino is one of the A star celebrities in Korea. He returned as a judge for the rap competition SMTM where YG used to say if you can't win, pack your bags and go.The songs featuring the famous Mino attract great attention from the public and are always at the top of the charts. He gained this fame both with his rap skills and with being funny in the variety show he participated in, NJTTW, one of the most watched shows in the country. MINO one of the best rapper in korea and koreans appreciate how he enunciates well when he raps. They always said they can understand every word he raps even when he’s rapping fast. You can’t say the same for others about that! Just to give you an idea on how amazing he is! He’s a real artist!

Aside Mino a rapper,singer,songwriter producer he qlso is a renowned artist in contemporary art and did art exhibitions in the West too.
Honestly I'm one of those who are secretly getting annoyed by how you doubt WINNER. Like you always be sayin' "how did WINNER win against iKON?" But I ain't saying anything because I know that sooner or later you will love WINNER and their music as you get to know them.
And this is one of those moments.
MINO as a solo artist is different to MINO as a WINNER member. Actually all of the members released their solo songs and each of them are different when they go solo. So let's just say, they are not bound by WINNER's sound when they go solo.
So in this video, you saw MINO as a hip-hop rapper.
And you are right, his musical influence is more western. He actually mentioned that he listens to Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Uzi Vert. He once did a short cover of Yonkers by Tyler, the creator back when they just debuted.
Mino is actually known for his unorthodox flow and witty bars. He is recognized as a lyrical genius. He also produces his own beats.
He won many awards.
His experience and confidence was the result of him being an underground rapper back when he was still a student and before he was discovered by labels.
Since you love BOBBY and I guess you also fell for MINO, why not check out their mini album called "The Mobb". They were a unit back then.
Their song "Full House" is a turn up club music while the other song "Hit me" has a funky party vibe to it.

For WINNER songs, if you are looking for a hip-hop song, sad to say but they haven't released one yet. They are more on the pop, tropical, fun, vibe. They also do ballads like "Fool", "Color Ring", and "Remember".
If you want something unique, check out "Baby Baby" it has that Jazz or Blues kind of vibe.
I also recommend "Soso". It has very relatable lyrics and the music video is top-notch. The beat of the song is also unique.

I know I’m repeating myself but when BIGBANG released their latest song Still Life at the end of 2022 it was a big deal. YG recorded Winner, Ikon and Treasure react to the song. Treasure did a cover of Still Life and so did Yoon and Mino of Winner.
I didn’t know these groups at the time but when I heard Mino’s part I cried, I didn’t understand his words but understood what he was saying if that makes any sense. What Mino did hit me to the very core of my soul, that’s when I decided to learn more about Mino and Winner. Just that little part was enough for me.
At award shows you often see Winner and Ikon sitting behind BIGBANG but Mino is slways checking out GD, you can tell he studied that man and looked up to him.
When you think you know BIGBANG enough and are ready to listen to Still Life, please react to the 3rd and 4th generation of YG react to Still Life and their covers. Personally I hope you wait a little longer but it’s all up to you.

They won that show because at the time iKON was not ready yet and Winner was ready. The plan was to debut Winner first and group B which was iKON and group C which was supposed to appear but cancelled was there to let Winner see how much competition there is if they didn't do good enough. It's how YHS toughen them up.
iKON members aren't allowed to do many things. Not that they doesn't want to or cannot. The same can be said about 2 Winner members but we are not gonna talk about them huh? They don't get the chance to do what they want too. So quit it.
The only group in YG who are allowed to do and have enough time to do much is Bigbang and that's because they put a lot of their own money in. YG is incapable to help most of their artists. That's why we call me dungeons

Mino had been already good when he got into YG, even the rap coach was confused what to teach to him because he was already that good. He also didnt get any critics for his rap from the start when he joined show me the money (rap show). Six years later he was invited as the judge/ producer for that show
MINO is and was that guy. Its rare you come across an artist where you dont know how to help him improve because he is that good. Also he is a quick learner anyways so it wont take long for him to improve

Winner is versatile, they are more mature and experienced as artists. 4/5 members are producers, they play with the lyrics and music so well, so it's not boring listening to them. Each member has their own strong colors as solos, but they become one genre as winner

You're not wrong about Mino when you said he creative rap. I'm a fan of Mino since day 1 and I think so too. He experiments a lot on his music and his rap that's why I think he is very versatile. Mino is also known for his flows, lyricism,word plays and clear pronunciation. Even koreans are having a hard time disecting Mino's lyrics because of how deep they are.
You should definitely check out Mino and Bobby's unit called MOBB. They also have collabs with their solo albums.
Now that you discovered Bobby and Mino, you should check out the other guy of The Holy Trininty (Zico). He's the guy who visited Mino in Who Is Next Ep. 2

Mino has produced almost all of his own songs on both his solo albums. So glad you liked his Killing Verse. Ignore the haters. You are allowed to like who you like. Everyone’s opinions are going to be different. And like you’ve mentioned…you don’t know much about WINNER so how could you be expected to like a group you’ve only heard snippets from?! MINO’s solo work is predominantly K-Hip Hop. He has a ton of K-Hip Hop artists featured in his last album and has featured on a ton of others’ albums. No offense, but ICs were mad not just because he doubt Winner which he doesn't know yet. He doesn't appreciate Winner as Winner, and keep comparing to YG sounds. The members were insecure because they're different than other YG artists and someone comparing them to YG sounds? That's so rude.
WINNER pop is the sounds of four of them. When they go solo, they've completely different styles of music. Jinu is probably the only one more kpop than the others. That's why they need to create new sounds, so that everyone stands out. Then someone said Winner is too kpopie, that's also wrong, since even SK public saying there's no other kpop group sounds like Winner.

Fact - I am an IC and have been one since debut but I also understand that not everyone is going to enjoy WINNER’s music. Just because I love the boys does not mean he has to. Would you rather he give fake reviews like every other K-pop reactor out there just so you can hear good things about your fave group? I for one enjoy hearing the good and the bad and can see it from both sides. His first reaction may be that they suck but who knows… he may change that opinion if he gets to know them more. Your job as an IC should be introducing him to all that is good about our boys and not telling him how you feel he is wrong for feeling the way he felt. So introduce him to Mino’s lyricism and Yoon’s music that touches the heart to sway his opinions rather than tear him down for a first impression opinion.

But he was influenced by GD too because GD started rapping with a non-Korean accent..... Even singing in a non-Korean accent....so much so that many idols and celebrities imitates the way GD pronounces Korean in variety shows. GD gave freedom and flexibility to the sound of Korean to match the music and mood he was going for
GD and MINO have very different rapping style and you have to make it all about GD LOL if anything, it would YDG, the korean rapper that Mino liked when he was young, influenced him😂
