It does a bit more than Metagross's Meteor Mash, but at the cost of every other attack being a lot weaker (which adds up to a lot of pressure if you're relying solely on an attack with only 8 PP). If it were distributed to a few more mons, I'd get it. But this is a signature move that has a very specific purpose. Meanwhile, Gholdengo gets a signature move that, at max investment against an opponent with equal Defense and Sp. Def, does the exact same amount of damage as max investment Gigaton while having a much more manageable drawback and also being attached to a mon with a cracked ability, a better movepool, and a stronger stat spread.

I think okidogi is the only one that is reliable. I have had success with the bulk up set with leftovers. Put a decent ev investment into sp. Defense and its quite bulky. Also a good partner with farigiraf to shut down priority moves and slow it down further for the dogi.
It requires a once-per battle resource that can also be used on your other mons, so there is still a bit of a trade off compared to Zacian who just got it for existing

Not necessarily, the three duo typed ones are much, much better defensively when they don't tera. Tera is only good defensively once the threats to the monotype have been eliminated. The fire and grass ones may tera regularly because of offensive capabilities, but water and rock are not gonna tera all the time with rock especially not wanting to hog it.
i love that Mono Grass Ogerpon beats Landorus T while Firepon doesn’t. I genuinely think Teal Mask Oger is #2 just below fire. Weakness policy + uturn booster bundle can just sweep games on the ladder
Ogerpon is way more balanced due to worse typing and needing to commit tera to get the boost while also not being versatile with the tera It can be worked around because it's not especially bulky, doesn't have an especially good type on the fire one, and is predictable on item and tera type.
As a balance player, Ogerpon-Hearthflame is one of my least favorite Legends in recent memory. I hate how Hyper-Offensive the recent Pokémon have been. Aside from Hands my boi.
I'm such a huge fan of the "small gremlin girl with giant weapon" archetype they've hit this generation, it's so good
