But seriously, I do feel like visually there are a lot of big-budget spectacle similarities. The films both aim for similar reactions from the audience: a lot of content in the movie plays off of the audience's ability to recognize and emotionally connect to certain events. The difference is for the MCU, those events are movies, and for Forrest Gump, it's history.
And that's without getting into how both are shameless American military propaganda that puts US culture on a pedestal. But I'll admit that's kind of a side-thing. I mean most big Hollywood blockbusters feature military propaganda, unfortunately.
@@Guruc13 maybe it's just me or i should watch it again but it didn't really feel like gump glorified the military especially considering how lieutenant dan ends up I also thoroughly enjoyed the movie without really having any strong attachment to the era but to each there own.

@@Goblindeez935I agree, I feel like it was actually anti-military to an extent with how much Lieutenant Dan suffered from trying to “die with honor,” and how his whole arc was struggling to recover from his war trauma in a healthy way.
