These soldiers show how important discipline is. I’m amazed at their ability to continue fighting effectively in such conditions. Interesting time in history.

4 It must have been real hell. Just the fight and the temperatures. My grandfather went through the entire war with the SS in Russia. Warm greetings from Germany

Grüß dich Landsmann, the uncle of my Grandma (93) joint the Reichswehr when it was 50000 men strong and was part of the Wehrmacht build-up. He than fought as infantrist in France + Poland where he got wounded and because of that and his age the Wehrmacht changed his profession to an Truck Driver in the supply chain of his unit till 1943. Than served as a medic truck driver for a field hospital following the 6st Army until it's defeat and after that he served for differant units all across the eastern front. And on May.5 .1945 he was killed in front of a Bunker near Dresden by russian arty while working on his truck at age 46.
I know they join together with their comrades at the warrior's table in the halls of Valhalla!!! "Treue um Treue" "Blut und Ehre"

@@ceasarwright7567guess they were all heroes to someone. Had they been more heroic, perhaps not so many Innocents would have been murdered. Perhaps the Ukrainians would have kept their country and sided w Germany.

Muito bom! Li sobre essa guerra durante anos em tradução para o português brasileiro. Com 60 anos tenho a oportunidade de ouvir esses ótimos relatos, sem os filtros de informação que os diversos governos daqui nos impõe.

The journals are interesting, but, far from fact. Just another angle that's still tainted w personal bias and the rot of propaganda at the time(which isn't so diff than it is now). It's obvious these guys had little access to the truths around them.
