- I don't deal with heights very well, that's why todays painting is so low to the ground: Beach House's in Oil.

So many good tips!
Glad it was helpful!
as always very enjoyable Colley, cheers Paul
Glad you enjoyed Paul.
I love watching you paint. I get so hung up in detail and what you do it seems so refreshing! How long do you let these dry before you sell them. Do you varnish your paintings? You are quite an inspiration!
I let them dry for a minimum of one month usually (because I use Archival Oils, fast drying, lean medium) Then I use a satin spray varnish to finish it off. Thanks for watching.
Great piece ! Thank you for your insights and your expertise! So great to have you back on You Tube ….and I know you will have a huge channel as you are one of a small number of living Masters. ❤🇨🇦
Thank you for your kind words-glad you enjoyed the painting.
Done with such skill. A charming piece.
Thanks Linda.
Beautiful. And nice commentary on foliage, speaking of which, like yourself I love the combination of violet and green when it comes to trees and folaige.
Thanks, I’m careful that I don’t get too formulaic, it’s a blend of paint what’s there and artistic licence.
Great work! Thank you for sharing. Any chance of you mentioning your choice of colors?
I making a dedicated video on this exact topic; should be out in a few weeks.
Very intersting vidéo. Just a quick question : why do you often( always?) Start in purple? Thanks a lot for your work.
Great question! I find it’s a good warm atmospheric colour. If I add more blue it’ll send the shape back or if I add a little more Red and a touch of yellow it’ll help make the shape come forward. It also is a nice dark value which helps with my light to dark tonal range.
Thanks for watching.
Invaluable information from a master! Thank you so much for producing this content
Glad you enjoyed.
