Mikko Joensuu - Might I Be Your Body | Monitor Sessions

The Finnish sing-songwriter Mikko Joensuu released his new album” Long Ark” in January and was praised by the Finnish Soundim Helsingin Sanomat and received a 5 out of 5-review from Sweden’s biggest morning paper Dagens Nyheter. Earlier this year Mikko played in front of a sold-out crowd of 1200 people at Musiikkitlalo in Helsinki performing the full album. Mikko Joensuu grew up in Österbotten and he has previously played in indie rock trio Joensuu 1685 that he formed with his brother. Their self-titled debut got international recognition with reviews from both the NME and MOJO and in Finland the album was hailed as one the best debut albums of 2008. In 2016-17 Mikko released his first solo project, the internationally acclaimed album trilogy ”Amen", with the second album (Amen 2) being nominated to a Nordic Music Prize. He was compared to both Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt and the final part of the trilogy received a 8,5/10 from Line of The Best Fit and Stereogum listed him as ”One To Watch”.
