    Pretty sure Beef and Barnzy are meant the Tour Dynam-X is for PBA Tour players as an alternative to urethane.

    Another good video Luis! This definitely answers the question about Tour Dynam-x vs urethane. I won't be replacing my Pitch Black anytime soon. Common folks like us won't have to worry about finding a urethane alternative in the near future.

    Yeah, they aren’t similar from a reaction standpoint, I think what Chris was getting at was that it is urethane like because it still is very controllable and that’s what players are looking for on tour, so I think many people will be throwing this where they might have previously been throwing urethane, but that doesn’t mean that the reaction is the same, urethane is clearly much earlier and smoother

    So what they were trying to say is that it will be like urethane with the new rules PBA is inforcing. The TD is going to be better than a 78 Pitch Black or Purple slammer

      Only time will tell on that one

    Having thrown urethane exclusively for over a decade and recently getting into resin, I can say I have yet to find any resin ball that rolls like urethane regardless of the layout I have tried on them.
    Resin balls are unique in how they respond to lane friction and change the lane.
    Resin balls are designed to "skid through the fronts" and retain energy for the back so they can "react" and "shape."
    Urethane is designed to "read the fronts" so they can bleed off energy so they don't "react" and "shape" thus allowing them to be played straighter and provide control on difficult patterns.
    Pros use urethane on the fresh to combat snappy back ends and create carrydown so when they go to resin, the resin ball is not jumping all over the place with zero control.
    Each type of ball has its place and purpose. The wise bowler knows how and when to use each for optimal scoring.

    Lou, you need to remember that next season the tour guys won't have all the standard 'thane that we've seen the last dozen years or so. I'm sure come November, all three companies will have their answer to the new tour hardness minimums on the market.
    Like others have said, you can also drill a short-pin version of the resin stuff or even go to something weaker like a Hustle line ball for shorter sport and still be okay.

      Time will tell on that front! We are almost there

    Urethane alternative. Definitely didn’t mean they were similar at all. But it can be used in situations that urethane is used. Shorter oil patterns, needing a controlled reaction with keeping straighter angles. About to purchase a tour dynamx getting ready for some sweepers and such

    Four months later and the layout of my purple hammer and your dynamix are the same and the are way different shapes. I also have seen that the tour dynamix is more for a sport and challenge patterns more than a house shot type of ball. Very rare that I use the tour dynamix in league but any challenge pattern it’s usually the first ball out of my bag

    • @LuisNapoles
      @LuisNapoles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Purple hammer is definitely more of a tournament ball

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say the multi-title winning pros, esp. Chris Barnes who is VERY intelligent when it comes to bowling knows what they're talking about. I understood perfectly what they meant.

    How is the Tour Dynam-X any different from the UC-3? The shape looks much like my UC-3 did when I first got it but in no time (less than 25 games) it suffered severely from lane shine and in spite of cleanings and resurfacing has never come back to new.

    Have you ever drilled a strong assym to compare against urethane? Would love to see that in a video. Mo used to say that short pin layouts on stronger assyms don’t tear up the lanes like urethane.

      I wanna do a short pin to compare to urethane

    What is the purpose of a urathene ball and when to use it?

    • @petefreezybowling
      @petefreezybowling ปีที่แล้ว

      Fresh conditions, Heavy volumes of oil and flat patterns. They dig in early and handle the oil up front then are smooth and controllable down lane. And when you’re on something that’s flat and tough control is a necessity. Especially if you have a higher rev rate you don’t need soemthing that’s going to snap and be super angular you need to control the pocket as much as you can.

      For the fresh when there’s a lot of friction and you need a ball to SLOW down

  • @petefreezybowling
    @petefreezybowling ปีที่แล้ว

    You kinda missed what they mean by it. For one the guys on tour obviously bowl on totally different conditions where these balls will have more similar motions than they will have on house. Now the rules for urethane on tour are changing so the guys are going to need “urethane like” balls and motions or balls they can immediately get into when they’re getting out of urethane. The tour dynamix will be that ball they can either use when they might typically be using urethane or can use when they’re first getting out of it. That’s what they mean by “urethane like” or “urethane replacement” the tours going to give them a similar smoother more controllable motion like urethane

    • @petefreezybowling
      @petefreezybowling ปีที่แล้ว

      Both balls honestly have similar shapes than you realize. Obviously yes the tour can shape a little more off the friction, but both balls shaped relatively the same, they both rolled early and were relatively smooth, both stayed on line and were controllable motions, the vintage still shaped when you moved left sometimes it even kicked off the friction harder than the tour did. Really watching it they’re motions are very similar

    Luis, do you think maybe a Tour Dynamix with a 2" pin would fill the urethane gap (somewhat)? I do wonder if this is what Roto and Schlem had in mind when they designed it?

  • @Kiura_
    @Kiura_ ปีที่แล้ว

    I wouldnt exactly say its because of short Pin layouts or anything like that.
    why a lot of Ppl say the Tour might be a replacement for Urethane well it has a lot to do with the amount of how much the Ball flares and how you can play the straighter angles like with Urethane.
    Someone like Sean Rash is going to love this Ball for sure, but still gonna take a certain amount of skill to get it close on what a Urethane can do for one with its miss room.

    Thanks for this vid, Lou!
    Two questions, please:
    1. I get that urethane forces you right and resin forces you left, as the lanes transition. Whats the down side, if any, of using urethane in that situation? When would you NOT want to move right with urethane and would be bette advised to move left with resin?
    2. Could you please do a comparison vid of the Tour Dynam-x versus the IQTOUR? And could you please give your take on why and when a bowler would choose a sym benchmark like the IQTOUR over an assym benchmark like the Tour Dynam-x?
    Thanks!!

      The big thing here is that when you NEED urethane there’s nothing else quite like it out there

    Luis is this ball good for league play?

  • @RobTex89

    What is your average speed?

    • @CliftonDon74
      @CliftonDon74 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks like 16mph avg, but as he moves left, the speed has to drop in order for the ball to get some time to get up the hill into the 1/3 pocket.

    You're speed dominant. I'm rev dominant and the dynamx would absolutely be a replacement for urethane. My pitch black andp purple hammer, botg of which are polished have a very similiar reaction in league. Its a replacement, not a clone. For the guys who get it 420+ rpm, the tour dynamx is a viable option to get urethane out of the bag and control the pocket with straighter angles.

    • @LuisNapoles
      @LuisNapoles  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t classify me as speed dominant
