You forgot to provide any justification for why not unlocking a phone is grounds for immediate detention. Are you unaware of the legal requirements for searches and seizures?
I think the Prof may have been angling at the timing of the arrest.
That other fascist, Paul Golding, was detained for the same reason when he came back from a trip to Russia.
Under Section 23 of the Terrorism Act 2000, police have the right to confiscate a person's mobile phone, and request any relevant passwords/PINs, if they have grounds to believe the suspect may be involved in terrorism. Under Schedule 7 of Section 23, it is an offence for the suspect to withhold passwords/PINs from the police. Prof Tim did mention this briefly.

The large majority of demonstrators have genuine, valid (and non racist) concerns that politicians have dismissed for a generation (remember Gillian Duffy in Rochdale?). Unfortunately, Tommy Robinson now diminishes those concerns and gives the opposition an easy target and excuse to dismiss them. They need new leadership, unconnected to Robinson and Farage, and then their numbers would grow rapidly.

And what do politicians do if they don't bring division? Go on holiday I suppose.
There is so much talk from him and his supporters about how we must destroy the Establishment in the UK. The Royal Family and Church of England are a very significant and deep routed part of this Establishment.
Yet, him and supporters bang on about how England is a Christian country and must remain so, how we must defend the churches and seem very fond of the Monarchy.

I fully understand Tommy ROBINSON'S anger & frustration. For many years Britain has had Government after Government not one of which has Governed "for, of, & by the British people. This has nothing to do with either UE or Brussels. Although I agree if UE had closed it's outer borders years ago, it may have helped avert the present ghastly situation. But the calibre of the Politicians themselves, and the medieval Feudal System of Governance, are the main contributors. Personally, I believe the last honest occupant of N° 10 was Harold MacMILLAN. Since then has slid slowly at first but recently gathered momentum down the tube.
I’m not sure that Mr Yaxley-Lennon is bringing division and anxiety. I feel that he is reflecting the anxiety of those on one side of a very real divide. There is a growing cohort in society who feel that those who hold power are not prepared to listen to- or even acknowledge- their fears.
Frankly, I think you’re spot on!
Nigel is now the most popular party leader. Politically it is the way to go to bring any change? Priority is the local government elections in May 2025. Reform will get landslide victories and then go from strength to strength.
