There are two issues of this note a 1980 and 1990. This series of notes is beautiful from the 1 jioa all the way to the 100 yuan. They no longer make a 2 yuan note so this is the last series that has one. Yi Bai is pinyin for 100 hundred. This was one of the first set of world currency I ever had. My sister in-law got it for me.

@@NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin Zhu De was the real military leader of the CCP. He was the one that made the military from the local population and they helped the locals instead of stealing every thing they could like the KMT army did. Mao was the political leader. Zhu was purged but not killed by Mao. Apparently Zhu was supported by Chou. Zhu was critical of Mao's biggest mistake the great famine in the 1960's. Mao was a little thin skinned with criticism like many political leaders. Zhu was also leader of Chinese forces in the Korean war. He was a military man through and through.
Lui Shoaqi was almost Mao's successor but again was critical of Mao's early policies that caused the great famine. He worked with Chou to make economic reforms that helped the people. All four of these men close in age and worked together and they were the pillars of communist China.
