@@Scott-ph2yk thanks, I did order two tear tyres in error and had to faff about sending one back and reordering. Apparently these tyres are highly reinforced and are a pain to put on the rims.
@@Scott-ph2yk The garage seemed like a good idea until it became apparent that to do a proper job a decent base had to be laid plus the while I’m there regravel the drive, jet wash the house, empty the old septic tank……..
@RepairandRideout Tires are like that. Certain brands have very rigid sidewalls, which make mounting a challenge, particularly, in smaller sizes such as a 90 or 100 width. Putting the tire out in the sun, or a little gentle heat will flex things without damaging the tire. Combined with the tape or zip tie method of mounting, along with a little bit of soap, will get a difficult tire on the rim. I have used the tape method and sunshine. Surprisingly, it works very well. Glad you were able to get your tires sorted out.
When I changed my front tire on my old CBR 600, they put in a lower profile than what was on there, and it really made the bike Twitchy and feel like it was going to just fold the handlebars at tip in. I like the taller profile on the front. It made it feel a lot more stable and less sensitive on lean over. I'm curious how the taller profile will give you the same effect on your cruiser?
@@andybobandy641 I’ve gone for the same tyre dimensions as standard but I did want something with less of a square shoulder, if you know what I mean. I have always thought the Harley felt squirrely at the back and it took me quite a while to dial in the Legend shocks to an acceptable setting. A much softer position than I had imagined. So far so good with the cruisetech’s, I’ve only noticed an improvement in confidence and handling.
How did you manage to get a black plate for your Harley ? If it was old enough it would surely qualify as a Vehicule de Collection and as such the Controle Technique wouldn't involve emissions or noise levels. And it's valide for 5 years not 3.
@@curlylegend thanks for your question. It’s not old enough to qualify as vehicle de collection I just like the look of the old style plate, it suits the bike.. Begging to get pulled over I’m sure but so far no one I ride with has had an issue with using the black and silver plates
Nice garage add on!
Doing tire changes is always an adventure. Glad yours went well.

@RepairandRideout Totally agree with you, it looks good. Best of luck avoiding a jobsworth type.
